The only question I ask is this,"People knew of the storm days ahead of time, why do you not stock up, refill meds, get gas and other necessities before it hits, so those that are truly non-essential (excluding hospital, cops, firemen, linemen, GDOT, 911, ambulance, and anyone else who is completely essential that I forgot) can stay home as to not put our essential personnel in danger?"

There was a post in another thread saying, I want to say their daughter a pharmacy technician, was told to come in to serve anyone who might come in. Businesses are in the business of making money and many do not care about their employees. It is always a good thing when you do find a business that cares about both.

Back in 2004/5 when we had that snow and ice, I worked at publix. They told me I had to come in and I was in Marietta at the time and my store was in Woodstock. I was actually going to try until I called my daddy and told him my plan. He told me to call them back and tell them to shove it since the car I was risking was not my own (is now) and he believes in keeping his daughter safe (awwww). So I called Publix back and told them what Daddy told me, they said well we can send someone to get you. I told them no, if it isn't worth my life it isn't worth the life of someone else. I stayed

These men are lifesavers in weather like this and I applaud them even though they are just doing their job. Heck, I even offered the sewer crew yesterday hot chocolate when they fixed my sewer issue. I am in a neighborhood, however if I see any of the power guys, I will be offering hot beverages and soup.

These stores should have sent everyone home, managers included.

I hope she got to the hospital and she and the baby are doing well. I am very glad that I am not 40 weeks.

We aren't going to Ellijay. I cancelled that plan this afternoon when I saw them saying snow, ice, snow, ice, snow. That many layers had me twitching. We will be staying at our nice warm house in Dallas, making our pizza here and enjoying our day in front of the fireplace. My Daddy agreed it was a better idea to stay put and use the cabin in March or April for our babymoon.

I am 4.5 months pregnant. Thankfully our house is equipped with a fireplace, charcoal grill, and solar panels (don't ask ). Thankfully city of Dallas was able to fix our sewer problem, so I don't have to go to my mother's, granted I did ask her if we didn't get a crew if we could come. Her answer...I have to clean the whole house first. The best part since they sent the crew, Mom doesn't have to clean, despite the fact, I told her I didn't care if the house was clean or dirty.

Just got my hubby a card and a bottle of riesling. I am making him pizza and drinking sparking wine (alcohol free) for his dinner. WE cancelled going to my parent's cabin in Ellijay. I honestly don't think we would make it up and down those hills.

Doesn't help when the sewer is backing up into your yard and you can no longer flush and the odds of them getting a crew to you is days away. Not sure if it is running up our water bill, but my house now smells like a sewer.

Now what happens if your power goes out and you can't get to PCom? I learned my lesson last time and am staying home. I even put off an interview till Thursday (ok I scheduled it Thursday on Purpose instead of tomorrow.)
