  1. So you are saying a minimum wage worker, who earns 978 dollars a month after normal taxes such as federal, medicare, and SS should have to pay more when every single cent of that is going to rent, utilities, food, gas, and bills.
  2. Joy. Would the government like to explain how someone making minimum wage is supposed to pay for this? Rent, Car insurance, bills, gas, and food.
  3. No one deserves that even if they sank to that level to begin with. But that is just how I think. Please, carry on.
  4. You could have said this in a much nicer way. Is profanity and/or name calling really the best use of speech in this case?
  5. I am with a temp agency as well.
  6. That is what I am doing. That is all I can do.
  7. I wish I could borrow money from someone. My father is unemployed and mom is having issues keeping them afloat. I don't know anyone else that well to do that. Trust me, if I did, I would.
  8. Sadly, I don't know anyone down here anymore.
  9. I actually do do that. I am still waiting (after the interview, email a thank you note, follow up in a few days, then follow up once again in the next few days). I have been unemployed since March. And now it is imperative I get a job. I don't get unemployment, I don't get food stamps or any of that because I live with my folks (again, oh and they don't pay for my food either), don't get any assistance, and now if I don't get something within the next week, I won't even be able to make it to interviews cause of the no money part. So if anyone knows anyone, please let me know.
  10. Many in my generation are in a catch 22. Everyone wants experience and we can't get it unless we are hired, however we need it to be hired. For instance, I have administrative, receptionist/secretary, customer service skills. I am trying to get into a position that uses those particular skills but everyone wants experience in that whatever field their business resides in. For example, Administrative Assistant for flooring place, or for a law office, or for a doctor's office, so on and so forth. But unless you have experience in the flooring community, or the law community, or medical c
  11. 8 dollars to start for 2 weeks then up to 10 dollars for the front desk position. The Exec Admin was 14.

  13. I no longer know if it is contract or not since they have changed everything. IT is also now in a different location as well.
  14. Means it is a contract position. I pay employer and employee taxes. Most of the time benefits are not included.
  15. Yes, they did have me work the desk for 2.5 hours with someone else training me. They want me to come in for another working interview for another 2.5 hours. They have not hired me yet. this is not a definite of whether they will or not.
  16. It is for initial employment. It is a gym/healthcare facility in Canton. Originally the job was supposed to be a 1099 contract for an Executive administrative Assistant. They have now switched it to front desk at their gym for less and I don't know if this second position is contract and has benefits or not. I am waiting to hear back from them on that.
  17. To do working/training interviews and not get paid. I have a place that has had me do one working/training interview for 2.5 hours and they want me to do another for the same length of time.
