I think it's you that's not giving our legislature enough credit. Perhaps some think their tenure bypasses protocol.

FAA money is still a tax. You can put lipstick on it, even add some perfume but it's still tax money.
-

The big question may well be, who do they think they are doing the "right thing" for?

More dirty deeds for Maxwell? OMG!! The good news is the bill is probably not going anywhere this year, even if it did Duane couldn't run against Todd in this election.

Everyone knows it was a draft, in fact is says that. He could have run against Jerry Shearin instead of a post commission and he did not support David in his last election. Maybe that's why David really left him out of the loop. The fact was everyone was being told there was nothing that existed, not even a draft on 2/14/14 and at the work session on 2/25/14. Just because some people aren't transparent doesn't mean everyone is like that. Until these documents were produced no one knew anything, NO ONE! (or so they said) A big thank you again to the citizen the used the FOIA to

You know what's scary, the BIG picture that is coming in focus when I find out about stuff I really didn't want to. Now that's scary. I KNOW every penny of tax money comes from the taxpayer. NO government creates any money, they just know how to spend it. The homeowners in Pauding County are backing this airport, bond or no bond. Ultimately the cost will fall on us. Remember that airport wasn't going to cost us one dime. No one knows how much taxpayer money has been spent out there, or so we've been told.
-

We are not opposed to the airport because we don't want growth. That argument is getting old. We are opposed to COMMERCIAL service. Bring on the jobs, bring on the industry, leave the commercial flights at HJIA where they belong. Even ole' buddy Brett Smith said this could be accomplished WITHOUT commercial service. Watch your own video from the chamber breakfast in November and hear what he says about it.

"First, the investment its self creates jobs. It takes people to construct these things." Yes we all know "who' constructs these things. SPLOST money is not property tax money and you know that. Big picture, Pubby........Big Picture!

The problems with this board are annoying!!! Pretty sure that is not their objective. . Some of my concerns are lack of citizen input and spending taxpayer dollars on a failed General Aviation airport with no business plan and the lack of proper studies regarding job creation, environmental impact and feasibility. I see little that ensures this airport will work for anyone, especially the citizens.

Here is a link to the documents discussed in the BOC meeting on 2/15/14. The documents that "didn't exist" on 2/14/14. http://www.ponytailpatriot.com/section-blog/211-proposed-local-legislation-revealed&Itemid=82 Be sure you check the dates on the correspondence between Tom Cable's office and Howard Maxwell. Open records requests don't lie.

Starting a project without funding in place is irresponsible. Keep in mind the original bond is for 3.4 million. The IBA loaned the AA 1 million dollars and the Commissioners gave them 2.9 million. They are already over the amount of the bond they requested and will still not be ready for 139 certification. That taxiway still needs to be lengthened. BTW, I learned back taxiing is not uncommon and not unsafe. Happens all the time. Lockheed did test flights with F22's with 1/2 the taxiway shut down at Dobbins. Hartsfield has done this numerous

hahahahahaha See when you use someone else's facts you only get what they want you to see. If you do your own research and have your own back up documentation, you don't have to rely on just "some" of the information. I have learned more about the goings on in the county that I ever wanted to know. Yes they have done us a favor by not telling us ANYTHING, leaving us to HAVE to do our own research. Open records requests don't lie, plain and simple.

CPR confirms, the information in the presentation was factual. He can't dispute the facts so he attacks the presentation and the presenters. There are MANY people that don't know the make up of the IBA and the Airport Authority, that the same 6 people with their counsel sit on both boards. They also didn't realize Blake Swafford gets TWO paychecks. When people begin to get involved you have to start at point A, not somewhere in the middle as some want you to. You are supposed to ignore the fact that there is and has been a rather incestuous relationship between the IBA and the AA, tha

I was just like this ^^^^^^^. I will say my eyes have been opened and I have learned more in the last 5 months than I EVER wanted to know. I honestly thought I left the Daley Machine in Chicago 30 years ago. It's alive and well right here in Paulding County.

So tell me how you're going to get to your destination, if the airline decides to reschedule your flight. Remember, you have hotels booked, show tickets bought and reservations made. No big deal if the flight is delayed a couple of days, right? I suggest you do some fact finding on the airline they are "talking" to about using that airport.
-

A general aviation airport is fine, you cannot "limit" the number of flights. A private company will be running the show, there is no provision in the contract to only have a couple flights a week or even a couple flights a day. Leave it as a general aviation airport and bring in the MRO and industrial park. Leave the commercial flights out of it and we've got a deal.
-

Yes it is, eerily similar to what we have going on here. Note, the airport they mention is rarely used but the neighborhood is destroyed.
