2. Oh for the love of God, Delta DOES NOT have a monopoly. I have flown out of Hartsfield hundreds of times on airlines other than Delta. I don't even go to that side of the airport. No one is going to fly home on a regular basis out of PUJ unless they are still not telling the truth about their "plans".

Ummm they aren't talking about flights to B'ham, Chicago or Nashville, just "vacation" destinations, Disney, Buolxi, Aspen, Salt Lake city. That's what we've been told anyway. So I doubt you can drive to PUJ and jump on a plane to Birmingham.

Hartsfield drives a huge amount of $$$$ in the entire state, Kasim is well within his rights to want to keep the bulk of that in Atlanta. Airspace is a huge problem not only for Delta but all airlines flying in and out of Hartsfield. Pilots love flying in to HJIA because they aren't competing with other commercial airports. There is less time on the tarmac and landing. I have spent up to 45 minutes circling Chicago to land at Midway with Ohare being so close. That's a lot of wasted jet fuel. Oh and those weren't Delta flights. I haven't flown Delta

I was not implying Paulding should be listed, the article was about McCollum field, not PUJ. The article mentioned PDK as another reliever. Point being commercial service at PUJ is not needed. Once we get commercial (139) certification, the FAA becomes the controlling factor not the county, not Brett Smith and not the horrid 9-5ers you seem to despise.

This Wiki article says McCollum and PDK are already designated reliever airports. Folks, who's going to drive to Paulding County with McCullom and PDK located in better suited places with interstate access?
  9.

This is only one person's opinion, you are entitled to that but it doesn't make it right. I completely disagree about where the efforts are being spent right now. There are HUGE issues with the way this county has been run for years. Thought we were going to have changes with a new regime, didn't happen. I see two common denominators in all of this, an inexperienced airport manager and the same law firm employed by every arm of the job creating venues in the county. So perhaps you are right in that we need to focus some attention elsewhere,

Hello!! A 737 landed at McCollum field, an airport that has been there for eons and is NOT in a residential, green space area. And on to PDK with the same scenario. Since the new Lake Point Sports Complex is about 12 miles from McCullom Field just off of I-75 where do you think those "charter" and "vacation destination" planes would rather land? They are already prepping McCullom and PDK as relievers for HJIA. That's a fact jack. Oh it employs a total of, wait for it.....................185 people!! Yahoo!!!

I understand why the powers that be want commercial service. The FAA funding for upkeep and expansion goes from around 150,000 per year to over a million per year. Tommie Graham made this point at the BOC meeting. Once the FAA provides funding, the municipality loses control over flight restrictions - they can allow as many aircraft 24/7 and the residents have no say in stopping late night flights. The residents will also have no say whatsoever in expansion - the FAA can expand as much as it wants (Paulding has 10,000 beautiful acres of forest by the airport that could be subject to furt
  12.

I don't remember ever going to a Maxwell town hall. Does he have them?
  13. I didn't hear from any of mine, Maxwell, nope, Heath, nope. But I did hear from Mike Dugan, Kimberly Alexander, and Micah Gravely, nothing from Paulette. I understand it's a busy time at the capitol maybe they'll respond next week when things calm down a little. I'm just a little confused why my representatives didn't respond. The only correspondence I had with Bill Heath was early on when he told me this was a local issue.
  14. Richard Manous has stepped down from his seat on the school board and is running in Post 3, per Paulding Pundit's Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pauldingpundit

First of all, PC population is around 150,000 people. There are only approximately 40,000 households, the school system is the biggest employer and 7% are self employed. Would you say that 75,000 number is a little skewed? Just saying.
  16. Woe to them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
  17. Yes, the dumbing down of America. They won't even get points taken off for wrong answers. Personally I think it's a game, so everyone will require a college education to know what they used to when I graduated High School. It has to do with tuition costs. Thanks Jimmah!!

So explain to me why Mr. Graham stated the commissioners couldn't attend the community meeting because it would be an unannounced meeting if there was a quorum of members present. Just asking.
  19. Hmmm, I grew up in Cook County Illinois, you have to live in the county to work in the county, even school teachers. Sames goes for city employment, you have to live in the city.
  20.

But I thought Tommie Graham wasn't running. I'm confused.

As a project manager, everyone knows you should have funding in place BEFORE you begin a project. I do believe I heard him say at that Chamber Breakfast he had absolutely no experience running a commercial airport. In fact I don't believe he's every "run" an airport and neither has Brett Smith.
  22. :giggle: That's pretty funny Pubby seeing I've been a business owner for 24 years and grew up in and around Chicago politics. Many members of my family have worked for the Illinois governors, yes even after the ones that went to jail. I'm not talking about legislation, I'm talking about a roll out selling a product that's acceptable to the people. Heaven forbid they spend money on something for the common folk.
