HEY PUBBY

Same song and dance, at the taxpayers expense. So yea, I'm thinking those pilots that love to fly to HJIA (not just Delta BTW) because there's not a lot of interference from other airports nearby don't think this is such a good deal. And those passengers won't have to sit on the tarmac waiting for airspace to clear. JSYK, Delta is not the only airline opposed to this and they are NOT the only airline at HJIA.
  2.

Quit making excuses and call a spade a spade. They had 11 months, from November 2012 until October 2013 to put together a roll out of the benefit of Disney, Aspen and Biloxi. NO law suits were filed until after they announced they didn't need any citizen input. They screwed up big time not getting the public on board. They had the chance and it certainly would have been cheaper than what the attorney fees are costing us. Would there still have been some opposition, probably but I assure you there was a better way to handle all of this without co
  3.

Keep asking questions Whitey. Jamie is a good guy and so are you. It's not possible to see emotion in typed words. I don't think you intention is to be disrespectful. Like you, I'm frustrated beyond belief with all that is going on. I am glad you are not alone in asking questions anymore. More and more people are as frustrated as we are. I told Jamie recently, perhaps the AA or the IBA could have sold Disney, Biloxi or even Aspen but they way this was handled was not the proper way to do it. Understandably some discretion and confidentia

This has been released to the public after a study by a reputable firm has done the study. It is not self generated. Our own Airport Authority or Industrial Building should have and could have done this in advance. Perhaps IF the proper studies were completed we may not even be discussing the possibility of a commercial airport. With this in mind, there is now probably ZERO chance of anyone using PNAA as a destination for Lake Sports Complex when McCullom field is right there. Building a convention center won't make it more attractive. Does eve
  5.

No I'm too old and too broke. But I'll certainly be looking at candidates that have some if not all of those things in their platform. You might be surprised which candidates just might.

Yet another reason to question the viability of a successful Commercial Airport in Paulding County. McCollum Field is a hop skip and a jump to the new Braves Stadium and a short 12 miles to the new Lake Point Sports Complex in Emerson. Does anyone seriously think anyone would use PNAA (PUJ) instead of McCollum Field? I'm just wondering why the citizens of Paulding never saw anything like this report, by a reputable firm from Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport. We got an updated (somewhat) Power Point presentation from Brett Smith at a Chamber of Commerce breakfast that has limi
  7. One more BIG change I'd like to see is counsel for all the authorities and BOC, BOE be from different firms. I was amazed by who serves as counsel for the IBA, AA and BOE was the same person. The counsel for the BOC is a different person but from the same firm. Not seeing any benefit from that. Every time there is a "situation" the only people that really win are the attorneys.
  8. There are a few of things I'll be looking for in the next couple of years. 1. The IBA needs to become limited to only bond acquisition, after approval by the BOC. We should limiting their power, not expanding it. 2. We need an airport manager with real airport management experience. 3. The Chamber of Commerce is more than capable of standing on their own feet, we need to eliminate taxpayer dollars being funneled to them. 4. The idea of a volunteer citizen advisory group is becoming more attractive, it's an avenue I would personally like to explore further.

See that's the thing about these grandiose schemes. They don't ever really die, they just go into hibernation so we can fight about them again and again and again. The airport, the convention center, the toll road............. What part of private industry should drive and pay for those things, what part of this is NOT a taxpayer function, do they not understand? Yea, that chairdude morphed into the next chairdude and so on and so on. Teachers and emergency personnel are paid peanuts and the government is out selling "ideas" that cost millions, maybe even billions. You can't
  10. LOL CPR, if you are nothing else you are consistent. Your criticism is growing old, now you're naming names while all of this could have been avoided IF our elected and appointed officials had been open, honest and transparent. Thank goodness citizens are willing to stand up to hold those people to their own words. Bring on the business, bring on the jobs, leave the commercial flights at HJIA where they belong.
  11. I'm not opposed to limited tax incentives. In this day and age, there is fierce competition to bring industry and jobs. Since this is NOT my area of expertise, I'll leave it to the professionals. Right now I believe we only have one true professional in Paulding County that understands this.
  12.

Wait, what? Not 2000-3000 jobs, you're kidding!! :faints: (^^^in case you're wondering, yes it's sarcasm.)
  13.

This is what we were promised, a successful General Aviation Airport with a business park. That's awesome!!
  14. Wondering who David Scott Bond is? Apparently he's challenging Howard Maxwell.

    HEY PUBBY

No way was there an unannounced meeting. You know sunshine laws and all. After that two day retreat about the airport you think they would have learned their lesson. Going to do some checking on this. Thanks for the heads up Whitey.
  16.

^^^^^This is it in a nutshell. A rocket science degree is not needed. Spin it all you want, doing the same thing over and over expecting different results has a name. Thank you Solo and GeorgiaTornado!
  17.

22 million dollars, in the big scheme of things, that's a drop in the bucket. Wanna look at what the county is p*ssing away at the movie studio and the general aviation airport that was going to bring 2000-3000 JOBS, yes both of them. What about the grand new park at the 65 million dollar court house? And Maxwell is worried about subsidizing Delta's fuel costs, he messed with the wrong company and it will cost him.
  18.

You're right. It's easy to focus on the good stuff.
  19.

So Pubby is resorting to name calling, now. Which part is a lie Pubby? And please show me why you say it's a lie.
  20. I see Pubby missed it, too. Let me type it slower so you both can understand: if I wanted to be favored and admired by my constituents and peers, I don't think I'd go after the single most revenue producing company in the state. This isn't just about Paulding County anymore now.
  21. You conveniently forget, not one Republican voted for Obamacare, not one. But all the sudden Deal does something you can use against him, soley because he has an R after his name. I wonder if this had been Kasim Reed or Jason Carter, would you feel the same way.
  22. Sorry, I'm not in agreement with everyone getting a license. If you aren't here legally, you broke the law. This is nothing but another grab by the Dems to ensure those that vote will have a license. I can't even buy a pack of cigarettes without ID but the left thinks it's OK for anyone that wants to should vote, legal or not. That's why they are pushing so hard for amnesty.
  23.

.<----- point, miss, reload.
  24. Sounds a lot like Obamacare. Didn't see you get all up in arms about that. Not that you would be partisan or anything.
  25. Now let's see, if I wanted to be favored and admired by my constituents and peers, I don't think I'd go after the single most revenue producing company in the state. That profitable airline pays the salaries of 800+ people in Paulding County. Do you honestly believe this airport is going to give those 800+ people jobs with the same pay and benefits as Delta? Those other 25,000 employees across the state might not like local legislators giving the middle finger to the largest economic engine in Georgia. I think I'm beginning to understand why Southern people are sometimes referred to
