State of the County address delivered at Chamber Luncheon
tundra replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
You would be misinformed, Blake did not discuss the business plan for the airport. He presented a five year construction plan for the airport, one he prepared for the FAA. One that included an additional 38 million cost. That presentation happened during the AA meeting, not after. -
I agree with Lowrider, temps will stay above freezing during the day Tuesday. The problems come in on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. This looks like it will be a 24 event, starting late Tuesday.

State of the County address delivered at Chamber Luncheon

The airport was completed in 2008, built on the promise of all the jobs it would bring with zero cost to the taxpayer. Now, I'm not an expert in the whole game of building but in my opinion IF this was going to bring all those jobs, they wouldn't have waited til the airport was finished to attract business to the "industrial park" promised to be built. The recession is a convenient excuse, in 2004 when they broke ground (yes 10 years ago), they should have begun the quest to get those businesses here. You don't wait til the accident to buy insurance. This brings me back to poor p -
State of the County address delivered at Chamber Luncheon

I think you will find the opposition will also persevere. Many, many people are now paying attention. -
It's been nearly 5 months since the air show and this announcement, we know little more about this expansion now than we did then. No public meeting, a 5 year plan that only shows more expansion and more taxpayer dollars being spent. I guess we'll have to wait for the FAA required public meeting to hear anything from our other commissioners in a public setting.

A little more detail on this Volunteer Blowout! This Saturday, February 8th, the Committee to Protect Paulding County will be gathering for a Super Saturday volunteer blowout! We will be discussing recent developments in the fight against airport expansion, highlighting upcoming volunteer opportunities and hitting the pavement with door-to-door canvassing. If you want to have your voice heard on this critical issue, this Saturday is a great opportunity! If you have any questions or want to RSVP, reply to this email or visit our facebook page - www.Facebook.com/ProtectPaulding

You keep calling these lawsuits frivolous, the judge didn't think so on Wednesday. If he did, the citizens would have to post a million dollar bond.

Airport discussed at Tuesday's commission meeting

Do you realize the State of the County address yesterday was a Chamber Function? Do you have any idea how much county funds are funneled to the Chamber? Mr. Austin will be addressing the republican party with the same address at their monthly meeting on the 15th. I plan on attending. I am a paid member of the Chamber, have been for at least 20 years. I will not be renewing my membership. -

I think we have a broken record. Cross posting the same information over and over is good for Pubby, gets the post counts up. lol

"None of us is as smart as ALL of us". Steven Covey is a great author/speaker on time management, goal setting and prioritizing. Might I suggest everyone in a management position start with "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People". Ken Blanchard's "One Minute Manager" is also a great read. Stepping out of your comfort zone, out of your "circle" to hear what others are saying is as important as those slaps on your back from your friends.

I can honestly say the Stop the Airport Expansion FB page has not spent one penny to "promote" or "boost" that page, every single like is voluntary, not bought. They just don't have the $$. So much for conspiracy theories and the Delta money pit.

I think he said something about being married, too. LMBO

So you have facts that support 10 jets a day have no residue, right. Wait............what I thought it was a couple of flights a week. Does anyone really know what the "plan" is? I've heard a million passengers a year to a couple of flights a week. Cray cray.

Thanks mojo, I didn't feel the need to even wonder why someone would not be at a Chamber function. Did they question where Mr. Barnett was at the last commissioner meeting? Oh, I'm also wondering if there was a quorum of the Commissioners, PCAA or the IBA present at that meeting today. Would it constitute an unannounced meeting of those boards?

You have no idea, surepip has lost everything he has including his health because of all he's been through. Shame on you. You have no compassion, do you?

Thank you Whitey. I was at that chamber breakfast and I clearly heard Mr. Smith say he would pay if the bonds were delayed.

I'm not mojo but I was there. When under oath, answering questions about outside commercial loan requests Blake Swafford volunteered that he had not sought financing from Delta Credit Union. I guess he thought it was "cute", made me LOL

From this old unretired person that has taken numerous days off work, I think that's an awesome idea. Delta is ready when you are.
