  1. This is correct. Proper installation would require a waterproof barrier be placed between the plywood and the stone. Roofing paper is better than nothing but gluing/mudding directly to plywood is not a good idea.
  2. Talk about spin. You're pretty good at it Pubby LMBO I find it funny that previous administrations thought putting the airport on the ballot was a good idea. Not sure what happened that changed minds. Could it be that it was voted down, twice, by a margin of 2-1? Some things are worthy of being voted on, I think the airport is one of those. Here's a good spin for you, instead of just 737s landing and taking off now we're talking about 777s? I guess you have some inside information that others aren't so privy to. Does this mean you are in favor of 777s landing here? LOL
  3. You fail to realize, no one is against planned, productive growth. We all want jobs, good jobs. Please tell me who these people are, I'd love to talk to them. We have an outstanding Economic Development team and need to utilize them for what they do best, bring business to Paulding county. Thanks to that 2.9 million dollar loan to subsidize a project that didn't have funding in place before they started, I'm pretty sure some of that economic development is being put on hold. There is no telling how much other money has been thrown at that airport that could have been used for other, more
  4. We rarely use our heater, we can heat the spa without heating the pool. Ours is propane operated, one year the pool had ice on it, turned the heater on the lowest setting to keep it from freezing, woke up the next morning and steam coming off the pool, no ice = good. Checked the water temp it was 72, the air temp was 19 = nice. Checked the gas tank, in one night we used 40% of the tank or over 100 gallons = Yikes!! Heating just the spa takes little, the pool is another story. Haven't done that since. LOL A solar heater or pipes to help warm the water in spring and fall would be
  5. But you have to dig a hole first, she wants it inground. lol
  6. We used Anthony & Sylvan 18 years ago. Ours is gunite, no liner. We've had it going on 18 years, had it refinished once. Still using chlorine, not a salt system. CSD pools in Powder Springs has serviced ours, great folks. I would get a price from them too if I were putting in a new gunite pool. They have some nice looking pools. I would definitely go gunite again. You need to plan on 6 weeks for construction, at the minimum. Most of these people only have one crew and are super busy this time of year. We started ours in February and just got it ready in time for Memorial Day.
  7. Ladd's in Cartersville? Ace Hardware is carrying some new decorative ones, they look very nice.
  8. Do you think anyone will wake up and start using corn for feed again instead of fuel? <snip> http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_BIOFUELS_GLOBAL_WARMING?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2014-04-21-04-02-59
  9. This fungus develops because you have Apple, Cedar and Hawthorn trees in close proximity of each other. It will keep coming back until you eliminate one of the three. Sorry, but it's a sad trilogy.
  10. Those look like they are from a professional bakery!! Good job Papi!

    Dear Pubby

Everyone deserves a fierce friend as you have in LPPT. I also admire the fact that you didn't jump on the "gift", Pubby. The absurdity of the claim was obvious. Without documentation it was just a smear and I too am not a fan of dirty politics. There is enough truth out there to sink a ship. Kudos to you for not putting smut out there, too bad others don't take your lead. I still don't understand the need for this thread, but as I said everyone deserves loyal friendship. Just want to say, thanks for being you. We don't agree on much, but this is definitely a plus on
  12. Here is the interview with Patti Smith from the other day. https://soundcloud.com/ponytail-patriot/paulding-county-boc-post-2-commission-candidate-patti-smith-interview I think I missed the Tony Crowe one, too. https://soundcloud.com/ponytail-patriot/paulding-boc-post-4-commission-candidate-tony-crowe-interview
  13. I'm still trying to figure out why Pubby addressed Hitman when Animal was the poster. Did Hitman post something that was deleted?
  14. She's so tiny! Love the yawn!! Nice afghan, did someone make it that's close to her?
  15. You purposely omit one very important part, we were promised a General Aviation Airport, many local airports have been very successful with general aviation, including Briscoe Field, McCullom, Stockmar, and Cartersville. Giving someone the keys to the Mercedes after they've wrecked the Kia doesn't make them better drivers or reduce any cost to the owner. It's been 10 years since they started building this airport and they still have no one interested in setting up shop. How is a commercial airport going to make that happen? They don't know what they are doing, that's obvious. You
  16. So tell us why we never got the "right" information? Didn't our esteemed county leaders have 2 years to get that information to the people of Paulding County, they chose not to. Any "misinformation, disinformation, misleading information and a general misunderstanding", is a direct result of not being concerned enough to explain or present the facts to the commoners.
  17. Not sure who you've been talking to, but I've yet to meet anyone I would describe as "selfish". Realistic economic growth is wanted and appreciated. The "build it and they will come" attitude has soured most taxpayers. Thank goodness we have an economic development team with Jamie Gilbert taking the lead. Too bad those elected officials and their "GOBs" are not on the same page as he is.
  18. I've not heard anyone say that, commercial aircraft is a lot different than truck traffic. We already have a large number of trucks moving down 278 to go to Rockmart and Cedartown with all their factories. Just think they built all those manufacturing facilities without a commercial airport.
  19. Cover it up? Make it a raceway? Turn it into an industrial park? Remember George Patton "Pat" Huges, they promised 2000-3000 jobs with a general aviation airport. From 2004-2008 when they "opened" the runway, no company even showed an interest in moving to 730 Airport Road. Why? Could it be because they had no clue how to market it? What about the movie studio? Didn't they promise 2-3000 jobs? Now they're promising 2-3000 jobs if it goes commercial. Do the math, it's always the same 2-3000 jobs to get what they want. Always, you'd think they would at least find a new number t
  20. Ok, if you say so. Why wouldn't it be bad? Do you know there is a wedding chapel at the end of the runway? I guess the bride and groom should just wait until that 737 lands. After all, it's just a little inconvenience. Not as loud as many people seem to think. Serioiusly, you don't even live in Paulding any longer, what if you and your bride lived at the end of a runway? Would it be okay with you then?
  21. I know you think this is going to bring jobs, but I assure you there is nothing going on here that a General Aviation airport can't do. The commercial aspect won't do anything other than be a noise maker and give the BOC more money. Is what they are doing to the 2-3000 citizens that live within 5 miles of the airport worth all that money? Deals behind closed doors don't usually work out so well. Again, if I was trying to sell something to stakeholders I sure as heck wouldn't keep it a secret. I'm thinking someone has been bamboozled, and you fell for it.
  22. Chinese Wisteria is very invasive. We have some and do keep it in check but when we're gone it will take over. It is beautiful and smells soooooooooo good. It was here so I won't claim credit. You can have as much as you want, It's rooted in several places.
  23. If I was trying to sell my business plan to the stake holders, you're da*n straight I'd give them the facts. Don't forget who the stake holders are in this. Let me give you a hint, it's not Blake Swafford or David Austin. No they don't have to release it, do they?? bahahahahahahaha What's the cost to the taxpayer for them using the building?
  24. Pubby, I saw the presentation........it's actually on line. Gwinnett published it, no where is there any indication this was done by an outside professional group. The thing is, once the professionals do it, they like to claim credit. Their "facts" have been challenged by other professionals in the field. I'm not a betting woman, a sawbuck won't buy lunch these days anyway. But if I were, I'd say only the names have been changed from Briscoe to Silver Comet.
