Paulding County planning on de-icing roads?
gwilli8866 replied to EliminatorXR7's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I will wait for the sun to de-ice mine. I don't expect the county to go down every road salting & deicing them...... they are lucky to get all the major roads done. Am I crazy to wait for the sun or should I start calling the county? -
Hubby bought his at Tractor Supply and it wasn't too expensive.

#1 - Puerto Rico???? or Costa Rico?? Looks almost like Tahiti but you don't have to speak Spanish there so I don't know.....

I was working at Southern Bell off the square in Marietta. They wouldn't let us go home..they took us to a hotel for the night just to make sure we would make it back to work the next morning. Took us in a Southern Bell van and then picked us up at 5 am the next morning and took us back to work. -
Insurance companies don't do the things that make the most sense - they do what takes the least cents!!!

Well the good news is, I broke up all the ice
gwilli8866 replied to Cathyhelms's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Sounds like you need one of those "safety covers" like we had on our pool. You would have just bounced like being on a trampoline. LOL -
Yep, back in the day when I worked for Southern Bell they would put us up in a motel close by and pick us up to get us back to the switchboard (I was a long distance operator) the next morning. Guess I am telling my age...yes we had the old plug in style switchboards - they were just switching the 411 over to computers when I left.

5 yr old grandson said because he ate "snow peas" the other night that it is gonna snow
-
My 5 yr old grandson said it WAS gonna snow because he ate "snow peas" the other night and that means he was making it snow. LOL I guess that is one way to get the grandkids to eat veggies...haha I would settle for just enough to play in but I don't want the ice and loss of power etc. Not asking for much am I????

Anyone Got a Fire in the Fireplace Going?!?!
gwilli8866 replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Same here..we let it die down a little in the afternoon and then build it up again late afternoon. -
I was going to say the same thing and with this crazy weather it seems that I keep a headache. Sit a couple of pans of water out too just to let it evaporate - it will ease the dryness in the air which makes it easier to breathe also.

I had the same situation 11 years ago with malignant tumor, no lymph node involvement and clear margins. I did not have to take chemo or radiation - only tamoxifen but I did have to get mammograms every 3 months as a precaution for 2 years then every 6 months until it had been 5 years. All is still clear to this date with no other problems. I wish you the best in whatever you decide.

Yep, bad thing about being total electric and on a well.
-
We are on a well so it is definitely our problem, unfortunately. No county water lines down our road at all.
-
Yep, we have one between the well and the house. Got up this morning to a patch of ice on the edge of the driveway. Of course the pipe runs under our driveway. Think it will be cheaper to just run a new line instead of digging up our concrete driveway to fix it.

We have one and love it. You just have to make sure you go back slowly or you can get a rush of blood to the head making you dizzy. It does take pressure off the back. We use ours for about 5 minutes at a time. It stretches all of the joints and actually helps my hips too.

Those should be YUMMY! I had to buy mine but I bought a lot of them so I can freeze some for later. I am sure you will do just fine. I put a "little" sprinkle of sugar in my collards - it keeps them from being bitter. (Probably 1-2 tsp)

Collard greens, black eyed peas are cooking...gonna fix rice, fried pork chops (SIL's favorite), cornbread and bisquits for the little ones that don't like cornbread. Love me some collards but I sure do hate cleaning & washing them. Takes me forever cause I don't like the stalk so I have to pull the green part out between the stalk and all the little veins. Hope you and your family have a wonderful New Year and that you decide to build back over here. Hope Amanda is doing good too! New year + new grandbaby = BEST NEW YEAR EVER! Mine is scheduled for her c-section on

Me too - my horses go crazy, running & running! It scares them to death.

Yep, staying in here too! It is bad enough with the drunks on the road but with this fog it will be even worse. Everybody that is going out tonight.....BE CAREFUL ! ! ! !

What is the age for your senior citizen discount? It seems to vary according to the store..... I need a cut & color.
