  1. Thank you so much. Yes, I did discover ginger but only in the last 3-4 weeeks. I put it in my hot tea herbal mix and it really has helped. The strange thing is that it just hits me wherever and whenever with little rhyme or reason. I have noticed that when I'm in a hurry or stressed, I get sick almost everytime. I read that St Johns Wort has been known to help b/c so many pregnant women are stressed and worried for a multitude of reasons. That with the ginger has definitely taken the edge off along with dramamine which my dr. said was fine to take everyday if I need to. Walking around feeling
  2. Thanks to you all for your kind words! Feels more real now that I'm actually telling people . Sugail, my Mom used to say the same thing. She was 38 when she had me and since that was 1972, she was like a freak of nature since that was considered REALLY LATE to be having a baby then. My parents took very good care of themselves and I never even realized they were so much older than my firneds parents(the majority of them anyway)until I was in my last yrs of high school. They were the ring leaders of everything we were involved in and we had the house that all our friends came to. I had
  3. Oh, believe me...even though I really have wanted another child for many years, since I'm staring pretty hard at 40 and could be on the home stretch(as far as kids), here I am voluntarily putting myself back into the ring...getting up at all hours, diapers, crying baby, etc etc ETC. I've had the few friends that I've told say I'm nuts and I know they're right but ya know, what are ya gonna do?! I was only 20 when I had my son and I married at 19. All I heard about both was "oh my! you are soooo young! A baby having a baby!". Now, it really is hilarious. All I hear now when I go to the dr
  4. Thanks again Everybody for the well wishes and for the encouraging words. I REALLY do appreciate them as I do have moments since I found out of "what in the heck am I doing?!" ...
  5. Thanks to all of you! This is really exciting to me b/c I havent told anyone except family and a few close friends...til now . I had forgotten what it's like to tell everyone that a baby is on the way. Ya'll should be there to see the faces when people ask me if this is my first(has been only at the doctors office so far). I say no its my 2nd but my first is 18. A couple of them have said, "Oh, wow! A toddler AND a newborn!" Before I realized what it sounded like to them. I've started adding the "years" word after the 18... . I love the comments about having children that are far apart in
  6. well, I mean...as long as they're asking and all...
  7. Thanks Everybody! ES, you're sweet and thank you so much. TBJ, well, my 18 year old son has become VERY political and we have had some lively debates. Always fun though. I dont try to change his mind about anything. I'm really just so proud that he knows what's going on in the country and in the world and that he can't wait to vote. You'd get a kick outta him and his soapbox though . As far as a baby liberal, I guess there's no returns or exchanges .
  8. Thank you Everybody. Sungoddess, yes He is. I've wanted another one for MANY years. LGM, thank you!!! I need pretty much everything! I got rid of all my other baby things years and years ago. No worries though b/c I'm sure most of it is way outdated and probably has government safety warnings now or was recalled the way things change so often... . I'm supposed to find out what I'm having next week. I might buy some things from you if you have them and are finished with them.
  9. I remember you telling me about how all that happened. Well, I mean I KNOW HOW it happened.... . I know you are crazy about him. My parents had me later in life and Mom says she enjoyed me more just b/c she wasnt as worried since it wasnt her first time being a Mom and she and Dad were more settled then financially and really, in every other way, too. Thank you, JJ. You are a good man.
  10. Thank you both! I've been sick as a dog... :bad: . But, it'll be worth it. MC, you got THAT right! Better lookout fo' sho'!
  11. That would be Moi'. We are very excited. Due in April. I have an 18 YEAR old....and a baby on the way. Lord help.
  12. What a great idea. Think I'll do that in a month or so. I'm making my dressing as we type. Had my in-laws yesterday and it was very good but different than what I grew up on. Everybody has their own spin on it. I think I pretty much like it all....unless it's that God-forsaken, blasphemous Stove Top.
  13. I agree. Nobody looks good in clothes that are too tight and too small no matter what their body type. Too tight clothes make fat look fatter and imperfections highlighted.Everybody looks better in clothes THAT FIT, no matter what size the tag says it is. This girl will most likely never live this video down. That's the silver lining . Maybe What Not To Wear will ambush her. I'm little and I keep it covered! Nobody wants to see the crack of anyones behind or their belly hanging out especially if you're in Walmart and not on the beach. Well, maybe not "nobody" but I know I don't.
  14. It is so perfect that THAT is what she was after. Only thing funnier might have been a Tummy-ciser. Heck, I'd donate to the fund for one of those for her. It is Christmas afterall!
  15. exactly why I stay home on Black Friday. The girl bending over in the too small t-shirt is just as disturbing as the crazy people fighting over a waffle maker... . She could stand a few laps around the store parking lot. ha! I was posting the same thing.
  16. Happy Birthday, MC!!! I hope you'll behave today but it's always doubtful.
  17. Yuck. This is when I'm happy to not be in the metro anymore! I hate the snow/ice.
  18. I feel the same way. I want to just enjoy the whole season more than any gift anyone could ever give me.
  19. Thanks for the heads up . I'm way down in south Ga. now but my elderly Dad lives in East Paulding. I'm sending him a message now to tell him to be aware.
  20. We had a last minute switch-up on Thanksgiving b/c some family came into town at the last minute we really wanted to see sooooooo...I put all my food to be made on hold til today. I'm gonna try your recipe for dressing. My Granddad and then my Mother always made the best but they arent here anymore so it's up to me. Your recipe looks likes there's except for the crockpot. I'm a huge crockpot user/lover so I think it's a good combination. Thanks so much for taking the time to post your recipe . Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed your time spent with family and friends .
  21. We will put it up this weekend. I'm doing a white, retro tree this year in my kitchen and a live, traditional tree in the living room. Can't wait!
