  1. Crap. I was hoping for you on the Aerosmith tour bus being a groupie.
  2. YES!!! So right on the money!!! She will definitely encounter so much negativity on her body, her looks, etc. Her parents are setting her up for a lifetime of hurt and pain. I do believe extreme obesity in children(other than b/c of a medical cond)is abusive. What happened to being a lady?
  3. OH! I saw this and thought that maybe Mr Dis had made a "life change" and was doing hair in some froo froo salon.... GRASS cutting!!!
  4. I havent seen her around here since the show aired .(Bellas Mom, that is)
  5. That makes lots of people mad but I agree 100%. You show the world who you are by the way you dress. Im not meaning the actual KINDS of clothing you prefer, etc., Im talking about how you present yourself. Adults can decide for themselves and live their life however they want but a child doesnt have a choice in who their parents are and what they accept as harmless.
  6. You know what? Starr and Dru's is right to use the word "obscene". That sums up the way I feel about these ridiculous pageants and even more so the parents behind it all. Obscene. Desensitizing.
  7. You are not alone. I feel the same way. Something that surprised me about these pageant threads is the fact that lots of people seem to think that if its a cheerleader, showing lots of skin, grinding, suggestive music lyrics to dance routines then that makes it okay. Not to me. I can tell you that my Mother would have taken one look at lots of cheerleader uniforms today and it would have been a flat "no" and Im glad she was that way. Not to mention the dance routines. Why do parents accept this as normal?
  8. I dont think its a disease and thats why it can get into the body from just about any place, thing, food you could name. I hope your daughter is better and Im so thankful for the turn around on these sweet little boys. I hope they continue and are back to their normal lives soon.
  9. I was raised exactly the same way and that's how I'm raising mine. As a parent you do have to weigh things out by the child and the situation, their age, personality...theyre all different. But, respect for other people, especially elderly and defenseless people, is non negotiable and I will never bend on that. Respectfulness is a requirement in our home, bottom line. It is not cute or funny for a child to EVER show disrespect to an adult whether they are 2 or 18. These little girls will soon stand eye to eye with the same parents who bragged and thought it was funny when they acted out. I w
  10. YES! That is the MAJOR issue I have with it and hardly anyone seems concerned about that.
  11. I absolutely agree. Jennilyn, I know what youre saying but this is so far over the line. Bragging about how much of a disrespectful hellian a parent is raising is gonna make people react. And to make a child think that because they didnt win something must be wrong with everybody ELSE. At the very least, teach her how to be a good loser- we've all had to face that one.
  12. Wow. I agree with LR. NOT cute and it sure wont be cute when she's a teen and an adult. A well behaved child in an outfit from a thrift store is a LOT cuter and fun to be around than the most dressed up, perfect looking, little brat. I wont even go into how disrespectful she was to adults. Its not her fault.
  13. There are parents telling their 5 yr old to "walk sexier", "shake your booty" and one even dressed as Vivian(Julia Roberts)in Pretty Woman. A hooker. I have seen plenty of very suggestive outfits. I think it is VERY sexualized and breeds a culture of desensitzed people.
  14. I will do everything I can as a Mother to keep my daughter FROM things that sexualize, endanger and exploit her like these pageants do.
  15. I dont want to speak for Mr Dis but I took his above statement as the WB Crazies use "it was God's will" as a way to say the person was punished by death and deserved it.
  16. You will get nowhere starting a conversation on this topic.
  17. I agree on the A subject. If you want one, go do it but I shouldnt have to pay for it. I have no issue with a womans right to choose and support it as a Libertarian even, but to take my money to fund it is NOT okay.
  18. gaah! I forgot Rhonda, too! LOVE her and her posts. I would love to support her store if I still lived in the metro area. To me, there are few things better than browsing for hours in a NON CHAIN bookstore and walking out with a gem you cant wait to read. And to the Postman...you are WAY too kind and so very sweet! I like it that we dont agree sometimes-it stretches the brain! I am by no means EVER saying I have it all in the bag. There is a lot that I still need to change and learn. The Postman rattles my thinker and my cage as well. He's exactly right...he and I may not agree at times but
  19. Yes! One of the biggest government screwups and lies ever. It should be legal. I would wipe out 95% of all laws and say every man for himself basically. Our government is ridiculousy big, intrusive, nosey and just plain over the line of what should be allowed in a Republic- free society.
  20. I cant believe I left out Subby, EymSirius and LPPT from my first post. Subby is talented out the wazoo and lots of fun. We have downed some Ketle One a time or three...and slowdanced...heehee . I even took a couple drags off of a Makers Mark Cigar in his presence. I always enjoy seeing all of you and reading your posts.
  21. I agree. If my child was in government schools(which she will NOT be), I wouldnt want them praying to anyone b/c who knows who that could be! Government messes up enough things...lets leave God out of that.
  22. Yes, Mei Lan! And I agree with them all. All good people.
