  1. I could have a topic just on how Jerry Springer they are. It's unbelieveable. What gets me the most is like you said, the non nurturing and the absence of any shame whatsoever! They were both at the family Christmas get together last year with their brand new baby ...talking, laughing, eating....while their little, almost 3 year old ran around playing. The same one that she signed away her parental rights months before that her Grandmother is now raising. I couldnt think about anything else the whole time we were there. That family is very different from mine. My Mother, Grandmother, Aunts, Gr
  2. You are so sweet and encouraging. I dont get the nurturing thing either, or lack thereof. Will was on the phone a few mins ago with his Mother who said that the birth mother said, "Im just so attatched", yet she continues to live with a sexual predator, abuser and addict. She has put him above the precious little lives of 2 babies. I cannot even type here what Wills response to that was. We dont know how she will end up from this but we are okay with whatever comes. She is still in the hospital now. Her skull was actually fractured- a soft, baby skull? I cant even really think about it. We
  3. MMMMMMM...duck with orange sauce.
  4. You are very generous as usual. See? I just THOUGHT I was crazy for having a baby at 39! Now I know I am. Right now we are just waiting and hurrying up to wait some more. You can imagine. I was so anxious about it, in a positive way, but I just had to swallow the fact that the government is involved and the fact that we are not dealing with people like you, me and probably most of the members on Pcom. We are dealing with generations of BAD decisions. They have been enabled by well meaning people to the point that their reasoning is something that you and I will never be able to wrap our hea
  5. Not from this mother. Her Mother however had 3 of hers adopted, one died and one was raised by my Mother in law(mother of this baby). So you can see the cycle. She and the father signed over their rights for the 3 yr old to the grandmother.
  6. Guess what I just ate? See my eggs above^^^... and I even had fresh asparagus. Thank you JN for the idea. It hit the spot.
  7. Thank you all so much for every prayer. We are gonna need it! Wanted to add that you can clearly see why Will moved to Ga. He will tell anybody it was to get away from his crazy family. He said yesterday that "God put him on this Earth to love and protect his girls." I wouldnt have volunteered for this with anybody else.
  8. There are a few reasons but to sum it all up, apparently a judge decided that based on who the parents were living with and where. Basically, every woman in the bunch has lost every child they have ever had to the State. None of them lost them at one time over some sort of accident, etc. They ALL lost them one by one and kept having more. The Grandmother(my Mother in law) is already raising this couples first child which is her GREAT grandchild. The judge ruled that the baby could not live in the same state as her parents and other family with a history of abuse(one of the women even had a
  9. Soft boiled with asparagus for dipping..... "Over medium"...
  10. Thank you for that. We have gotten so wrapped up in the details and the sheer idiocy of the birth parents, just trying to figure it all out, you know. I thought about your post all last night and it really warmed my heart. I never had a sibling that was close to me in age and I raised my son as an only child(who is now grown). So, I honestly dont have a great understanding of the bond they can have. I am looking forward to it though. I so appreciate ALL your advice and well wishes. It is really a very strange feeling to be going through this, but its a good thing. You just never know what
  11. LOL thats hilarious! I remember them changing the name a few times but the format pretty much stayed the same. You made me remember something from my high school days. There was a talk radio guy on late at night on WGST, I think. I wish I could remember his name. He was sooooo rude and would absolutely shred callers to bits and pieces. He was hilarious but you just hated him. Well, I went all through school, all 12 years, with about 6 other people, so you can imagine we were a tight bunch. The boys from this crowd would call into his show and we would all be at our different homes listen
  12. I was out looking for myself once. I woke up the next day in Tiajuana with my pants on backwards and only one sock. Weird.
  13. I remember you giving this advice a few times before. At least you are doing your part for the community.
  14. I do! That was my hay day...Power 99...LOL you probably get all the chicks.
  15. I appreciate that and going into to this we knew almost nothing about how it works. We decided to definetly not foster- I could not take that emotionally. Her parents have signed their parental rights over and there will be some sort of court order keeping them from her or us for the rest of her life. We heard they didnt hesitate to sign. Im glad they did but can you image? Forget the whole nurturing and morality thing- who wouldnt be so embarrassed to have not one but two children taken away.
  16. Im not discussing this on FB yet, btw. Some family members are "friends" and we want this to go quietly and as smooth as possible. They dont WANT her but htey live to stir up trouble. She is 9 months... . She really is a doll. It has been very hard to hear the details of what she has been though. Even animals protect their young...I dont get it.
  17. Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart. I in no way wanted to come off like we are super heroes or something. Believe me, we arent. I met the baby back in Janurary and figured she too would sadly end up in the hands of the State. Didnt take long. If we didnt take her, she would go to the State and to Foster care. We did not let that pressure us though in our decision. We cannot save the world and our little family comes before taking anyone elses issues on. It will surely be a struggle but I know for sure we can at the very least give her unconditional love, acceptance wanting nothing
  18. Yall just gave me a good laugh! This is hilarious. Thank you God for crazy people...and the people who make fun of them .
  19. this has been brewing for many months. Will and I have agreed to adopt a 9 month old little girl. She was taken away from her parents (this is the SECOND child they have had taken away)and cannot live in the same state they do which is Florida. They are family of ours. Very bad situation but hopefully and prayerfully, my family can give her every chance to have a life full of safety, peace and love. We should have her this week. I SERIOUSLY ask for your prayers and ANY advice from Foster/Adoptive parents or anyone with any knowledge on a situation like this. Btw, one condition was that th
  20. I LOVE Spic and Span sooo much! We used it back in cosmetology school to melt hairspray and everything else off of the chairs, etc. Did you know(and take into account that I am a total hair product snob)...Spic and Span has the same Ph as hair does. We used to sneak it into color application bottles to use during a shampoo in the very upscale Atlanta salon I worked in over 10 yrs. It does everything from taking stains(not permanent haircolor)out of the hair to neutralizing medication(meds can coat the hair after taking them for a few months and resist color and other chemical processes)to just
  21. When my 2 young step-daughters started spending weekends with us(after I moved to Valdosta), I had to train them how to treat this house. IDK if you read it way back almost 2 years ago but we actually bought our house from their Mother(it was a week from foreclosure). I talked here about how horrific it was inside. I mean, you cannot imagine. It DEFINITELY could have been on Hoarders. It screamed "mental problems". As you can imagine, that is a good part of the reason they divorced. I wish I had taken pictures...I was just so overwhelmed and I had to stay busy so I wouldnt have a break down..
  22. Ominous clouds heading in. Took this earlier but I couldnt post b/c the power was flickering . Right now it's bright and sunny but IDK how long that will last. South Ga Weather ...looks like things might get ugly around 2.
  23. Good attorneys cost big money. She should be entitled to half of all assests. You can find how child support in Ga is calculated online- Google it. I'm not opening the can of worms that is food stamps. I tired of trying to save every penny while the government steals from me to fund other people. I digress, tell her to get a big, mean attorney. If its an ugly divorce, you do NOT want a "nice" attorney representing you. They will do a free consult. with her. I would talk to a FEW before I spent any money. My divorce cost $13,000 and that was ONLY for representation.
