Cobb EMC meeting Saturday will help determine future
willavery replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
One of my best friends is the guy leading the "take back Cobb EMC group." They are really kicking some a$$ down there and there is a pretty good chance the current board will be booted in November. -
Growing up near Savannah, I have followed this case pretty closely as well. There is definitely still a racial aspect to life down in that part of the world. Communities are still divided because of it. I think Davis is a victim of circumstance and was an easy one to point the finger at. The fact that MORE THAN ONE witness has redacted their statement is telling. The board needs to stop this execution immediately!

I haven't posted in a while but his execution should definitely be appealed further. Multiple witnesses have redacted their statements regarding either seeing him commit the murder or hearing him confess to it. There are far too many questions involved to execute this man right now. Absolutely no evidence to ever tie him to the crime scene. If "justice" is carried out as many would say in this situation, it will end up being a mockery to our justice system for years to come. Link to AJC article from last year. There are actually even accusations of police intimidation to force witness

I am playing a free acoustic show at the Powder Springs Coffee Shop tomorrow night at 8. It won't be my full band, but good times non-the-less. 8 o'clock.

I couldn't get the video to post. What did I do wrong.

Saw this tonight. Made me laugh and thought I would share. http://youtu.be/ZA7Z8T0j08o

I am a die hard Braves fan. That being said, McDowell should definitely be fired. What he did went beyond anti-homosexual slurs and moved into the realm of threatening fans with physical violence. He actually motioned to the man with the children with a baseball bat and asked him "how much his teeth are worth." What might be most disturbing about the incident is saying that "kids shouldn't be at the (expletive) ballpark." As a father, I asked myself, if kids can't go to baseball games, where can they go? It is the coaches job to the face of the team and any action by the coach reflects n

So that's where my baby doll went.

If you go up to Johnson City TN, you can see 8 rookie ball teams with 1 hour of each other. It is great fun.

My pops and I are doing a minor league tour this summer. We are going from Montgomery (best team name BTW: The Biscuits), to Birmingham, to Huntsville, Rome, Chattanooga, Nashville, and Knoxville. I love minor league baseball!

Exactly. It would be horrible for us and therefore I mourn the day it might happen. But I can't blame much of the rest of the world for wanting it to happen. Please ng don't make my statement onto something more than it is. It was a statement of reality not of what I hope happens

I am not saying that it couldn't happen. I think that it is a strong likelihood that it will happen one day. But it I think it has less to do with the a decrease in confidence of the US dollar. A more uniform monetary system would actually make more sense on a global market than a form o currency produced by a single country. I don't say this to support the creation of a global currency, but overall, across the world, a uniform money system would bring the cost of goods down across the world.

The main reason that gas costs more in Europe and in most of the world for that matter is that oil is traded across the globe in US dollars. That keeps the price low for us in comparison to the rest of the world. The only way we would see European fuel costs is if OPEC decided they were no longer using the US dollar as the trading standard for oil. In that situation we might be in trouble.

The math would only work if everything involved with the price of a gallon of gas triples with it. In other words, the cost of refining would have to triple, the state and federal taxes would have to triple, oil company profits would have to triple. The price of gas at the station is not solely based upon the price per gallon. Realistically the price per barrel would have to go way higher than 300 per barrel to equal $9/gallon.

I didn't think so. I just get so tired of the religious vote pandering like I saw from Bill Heath today.

I don't know if I can place enough of these -----------------------> in this post.

Another argument presented today against the bill was that more kids would become alcoholics and dies in car accidents. Another even said that we have a moral obligation to keep Sunday sacred for God. I have never in my life heard so many passages from the bible quoted in a legislative hearing and have absolutely none of them address the topic at hand. Can someone point me in the direction of what bible verse says no booze on Sunday?

He even cried during his speech. What a crock.
-
Our wonderful Senator Bill Heath voted against it, claiming that the people of his district were totally against it. He also claimed in a passionate speech that allowing Sunday sales would drastically increase the number of children from broken homes and the number of women who are beaten by alcoholic husbands. What hot air!!!

You can find fee information here. It looks like for it to be expedited it will be 60 bucks extra. There is even a link telling you what to do to get your passport in a hurry.

Pretty much any chain drugstore or the post office will take the photos. You can go to the courthouse to fill out the appropriate paperwork. How soon do you need it?

Mix in worcestershire, egg, and fresh bread crumbs. The bread crumbs will hold in some of the fat and keep them from drying out, while the egg helps bind the burgers together. Trust me.

Having taught college classes myself, I think it is absurd to say that professors grade based upon their personal biases. Granted there may be outliers that do, but all professors I know grade objectively and based upon truth. In regards to what Provost Chandler wrote in 1998, people need to look at the actual article rather than taking what the MDJ says as truth. The MDJ has always been a right leaning newspaper. The journal article does NOT condone Marxian economic system, but rather a way to understand the need for a collectivist nature within academics where all stakeholders are i

I just read his article published in the Journal of Higher Education. He argues that the University environment should not be solely dictated through a hierarchy of regents, board members, trustees, etc, but should be a truly democratic (small d) institution where all stake holders in the institution have a voice in the decision making process. Granted, he does use the Marxist idea of collectivism in his discussion, but he does not do so in relation to Marxism in the economic sense and certainly does not argue against capitalism. He simply seeks to allow teaching professionals more voice an
