  1. Gotta have buttermilk for cornbread, biscuits, and pancakes (when I'm not cheating).
  2. Seems like a really good thing to have on hand for those who cook with buttermilk but not often enough to avoid throwing some of it out.
  3. You can get powdered buttermilk, too.
  4. It isn't a terrible experience ... just not quite the same. Some people actually prefer it.
  5. Just tracked down this little factoid ...
  6. He's being put to death for the murder of an entirely different VA victim.
  7. Mix up a glass and taste it.
  8. I agree with FG's above posts. You can also use it to make drink and/or soup mixes that you just add hot water to when you need/want them.
  9. Virginia is actually pretty good about getting on with things when the death penalty has been determined. I was fortunate enough to not personally live through the day to day hell of the events as I had already moved here by then. I did have family in the area, though. I hate that it was one of the last major events that my mother experienced before her death.
  10. I use it in some cooking but not for drinking or in cereal.
  11. Took too long but at least the time is finally here.
  12. Michael Vick doesn't sound so thrilled about being an Eagle link
  13. Here's where the difference between homicide and murder comes in. What you described was homicide. No less sad or painful for the survivors but still not murder, by definition.
  14. They should run him up to Virginia and sit him right next to John Allen Muhammad tomorrow night and make it a two-fer.

  16. I'd just like to comment on how nice it is to see somebody disagreeing with portions of the thread yet still able to acknowledge and be supportive of the main idea.
  17. Another very disturbing similarity in the two events, too. This one brought back bad memories for a lot of folks.
  18. When you have a loved one who deals with drunks on a regular basis and whose life is routine disrupted by drunks, it's easy to jump to the hate thing. And when one has inside information that one is not allowed to share, one's view may be taken as a bit harsh by some. I can handle that.
  19. I couldn't find papers at any of the usual spots today.
  20. Why can't we hate the people who know they did wrong but work the system to try to get off on a technicality? And why can't we hate the people that help them do that?
  21. Had that info a number of hours ago but it wasn't released yet so I couldn't post. Even before getting the report, I knew it couldn't be too bad if he was at Kennestone. Some of the details from the scene were pretty disturbing, though. Certainly one very lucky man.
