  1. If it is going to snow, lets have a few inches again and then it's time for Spring. I love winter and snow but it's time to move on. You can feel that it is wearing on folks now.
  2. Go Canada, eh. (This really isn't much different than an all-star game in the NHL ... I really hate that pros can play. Just like in basketball.)
  3. But if that establishment is funded by tax dollars, doesn't it make sense to not waste that money on so many transactions? I really don't know why they stopped taking them but the fee seems to be the most likely suspect. And I know that counties are restricted by the state on what they can and can not charge in other areas ... I wonder if convenience fees on site are one of those things? Just a thought.
  4. http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/solitaire.asp Not here but still ... you can be sure it happens a lot.
  5. If the county is paying 1 cent to have that machine there, somebody screwed up big. Should be easy enough to find out. (Just not at 9:36 p.m. on a Saturday. )
  6. I guess I was lucky. Mine was easy and fast and only had 2 accidents after we started working on potty training.
  7. Not likely. You can be pretty sure the county is getting something out of the deal. Whether from SunTrust or from an ATM placement company ... the county is getting something out of it.
  8. They used to take them a few years ago. There is a reason they stopped and it would seem to me to make more sense to find out the reason instead of making derogatory comments about them for it without that info. Also, I have been in there (including just the other day) when they have had nearly every "window" open. It makes no fiscal sense to keep the place fully staffed every single day. It also makes no sense not to plan ahead when building a new facility that is meant to serve the growing community for many decades to come. It was a wise move to make the space bigger than what is neede
  9. Thank you for putting an end to the speculation.
  10. Buffalo is good eats. Bet that one is extra tender now. Sorry ... couldn't resist.
  11. You posted a link with the recall specifics but it seemed to get skipped over.
  12. If I had to guess, I'd say it's the fees charged to the county by the banks. They stopped taking debit cards a while ago.
  13. Another thing to keep in mind ... the more heavily "kid friendly" leaning a place is, the more likely you are to run into parents who take a vacation from parenting while there. I know that isn't an issue for a lot of folks but it is for others.
  14. Last time we were at PCB there were sharks all over the place, too.
  15. I may be wrong but I believe the point is that the pay cuts are much harder to get back. If an agency has to furlough folks for a few days a year but eventually there's enough money to cover things, the furloughs just stop happening. When salaries are actually cut, it is a much bigger fight to get that money back. It doesn't just automatically happen when the funds are there again. Also ... furloughs don't show on your resume. A lower salary does.
  16. That's how I do mine. It's about time to do the no-wax stuff again, too. Oh joy.
  17. Fair enough but I said the part was made in China, and it was. Made to Toyota specs, though. So still Toyota's problem. Of course, since it was in their vehicles, it would be their problem no matter where it was made.
  18. So what's with all of the references to the part from China?
  19. Really? I keep finding link after link that says one if the recall problems is tied to a pedal/pedal part made in China.
