  1. The cross is from a teen from PCHS who died there back in '98. I don't think that was a 4-way at the time. I think he was delivering pizza or something related. I knew back then, but don't remember now.
  2. I would go with living room and family room.... My dad has a room in his house we call the "white room"....plush white carpet, white furnature....I think it's a formal living room.
  3. I chopped about 6" off my hair this week. I'm still adjusting my shampoo/conditioner levels.....but drying it is QUICK! ME too. I use the dishes straight from the dishwasher until it's empty then load it back up with the dirty ones... And I don't bother putting my clothes on hangers since I'm just going to take them right back off!
  4. Delta's new motto: You're late, but at least you got there alive! Their PR person should jump all over that. Once, maybe twice is an exception.....4 times is a habit....and habits speak to character.
  5. mmmmmmmmmm.......... I volunteer to help judge which of these is the best!!
  6. I didn't realize that Delta was held sacred in pcom land. I'll add it to my list. 4 f-ed up flights on the same airline is hardly someone just looking for something to bitch about. I'm too hungover for this thead.
  7. What's with all the negatives? Crap people, 4 flights and problems with all 4? I'm sure that's the the OPs fault!! I have had similar problems with Delta. It's a "we're too big for our britches and those business people will keep paying outragous fares to fly us so we don't care about the little guy on vacation" type mentality.
  8. I bought a pool for my backyard....but can't buy the damn filters anywhere, have to order them online. I see what you're saying Surepip....basic parts shouldn't be a PITA to find!
  9. I found some Amazon reviews about this product and they were less than kind. http://www.amazon.com/Iris-USOA447-IRIScan-Express-Portable/product-reviews/B000V9OD1C/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
  10. Woot has a portable scanner for $69.99 (+$5 shipping). {on the company website this portable scanner is normally $129} I've been thinking for a while that I need to get a scanner, since I keep having to go to my mother's house to use hers... Anyone have an opinion/experience in either direction?
  11. How does someone steal 3 airplanes and a yacht?
  12. Ha! I drive a Corolla....that thing is barely going to push over 85....not that I know I've seen a few places where they seem to be setting up for side walks, but those places are MILES from anything to walk to....like mystery sidewalks that don't go anywhere....
  13. Man, I go play a little softball and go for a swim and this thread takes a turn for the worst.... Ok, "problem solving" probably wasn't the best phrase. I teach math and science, so I subconciously used terms used in my subject area. Problem solving [basic math] goes something like this: There are 8 friends. 6 of them had to go in for dinner. How many friends are left? As opposed to asking: What's 8-6? As for the social studies aspect, the emphasis is on WHY things were done. Knowing WHY the D/I was signed is more important than knowing WHEN it was signed (which is not 7/4/1
  14. Went on a blind date with a guy, 34. When talking about where he lived (I knew he lived in Atlanta, but that's a big area) he said he still lived at home with his dad. He was an employed individual (a requirement to date me). I ended the date rather quickly and got the hell out of dodge. That is ONE red flag I won't ignore. I've been living on my own since I left for college at 18 and I need to date someone who understands the amount of hardwork that it takes to be on your own.
  15. The STATE sets the standards on what is being taught in the schools, for which I provided a link. The administrators and boards of education don't decide what is being taught. You said there's a lack of American history being taught. I provided information on just how much American history is being taught.
  16. Actually, that would be a case for WHY it happened. It is not enough to know WHAT, you must know WHY....I never said he WHAT wasn't important. You have to know WHAT to know HOW and WHY. I'm beginning to question your reading comprehension skills.
  17. Because you pay your taxes and whatnot, you're qualified to say that there is a "lack of American history being taught today" ? I provided a link to show you how much American history is being taught in schools, because your statement was an opinion statement based on misinformation. I was simply trying to show you where you were mistaken. and so....when there's nothing left to make our arguements sound, we must attack grammar and spelling.....tis the pcom way.
  18. Actually, today's schools are more about problem solving than the memorization of yesteryear. It's more the "why" and "how" and less of the "what"
  19. Last week I learned why John Hancock signed his name so big on the Declaration of Independence....and I am a well educated woman. Should I not be allowed to vote because I didn't know that previously? If so, I want to take back my votes for....
  20. I hope not. They probably pulled the old "I'm spending the night at his house" routine....I've done it many times
