If things are going smoothly, then there's really not a whole lot to understand. IMO, they are truely there for parents who feel like they're being bullied by the system or that their child isn't receiving an appropriate education. -

This will be awesome. I give a parental rights packet to parents at every IEP meeting and wonder how many of them know what it means. I took a graduate level special ed course that dealt entirely with parental rights....it can get pretty complex. -

You are setting a wonderful example for your kids by not being afraid to go after something you want. What would you be teaching them if you quit? It would be hard to give them a "stay in school" speach when they want to quit when you did the same thing. Online classes suck. I took several over the years and they were always the hardest for me. I learn from listening and writing. You say it, I write it down, I remember it (without reading it again). It doesn't work like that when I type online. My fingers move so fast that my brain doesn't really process the words on the page. I like seein -

I was teaching earth science (which includes an astronomy unit) when this happened. I had to break the news to a whole bunch of 8th graders! I thought they were going to riot!
