I have recieved a property reassesment from the county every year- it went up every year... I bet this year we won't get one because property values have gone down, I don't know if you can appeal unless you get an assessment? Prices of homes in a development behind me went down 10,000.00. A new development down the road is just paved roads, abandoned....we have a lot to pay for as it is from the King's reign, some things we never got to vote on. A 65million dollar courthouse complex. Our government officials, at the time, were doing what the country was living beyond the taxpayers means. We a

in what direction is our county going
cherokeewoman replied to swingline's topic in Paulding County NEWS
babydoll - I have to agree, even last year when people said theirs went down mine did not. My taxes have gone up every year. Last year just a few dollars, but my neigbors went down, too late to protest when I realized it. This year, they will probably will not reassess our property, as they have done every year since I have lived here, why, because they can't disclaim property values have gone down. The reign of the ole boys is gone, I hope, but it cost us taxpayers a lot and will cost us years to come(Jerry I hope you enjoy you retreat in Fla) it cost us a lot. It took some of the people a -

Does this have to do with the new format we have? Is it cheaper for you to do it this way? -
Wow Cheffy - all those cakes and pies, just wondering what will your Thanksgiving menu will be for your family? Your menus always are mouth watering.

Surepip - If I had the vote I would vote against any incumbent in the commissioners race, have tried to do it for years, but alas, there was no one running. Beachbum - you are wrong, for a long time Surepip was for the boc, he defendend them against my posts a long time ago.... this was probably before your time... one learns with experience what can happen. He would be very happy with good decent government, as many of us would. As with what has happened to the American people in general, greed came into play... we can make money off all these prd's that rape the land, we can get at lea

How do you unblock some one if they were accidently blocked or by computer error blocked? Could not see how to undo? -
Qtee - you are correct. There will be a long line of officers that will pay tribute to these two fallen officers. Dekalb County has lost two of their finest officers, young officers, that could have made a difference. My hubby will be in the line of officers, going to the memorial. A tribute to a fellow officers downed. No Reason - Don't know where you have been are going with this post. All officers that have died in the line of duty(off regular time or not) have been honored, they all have received attention that they deserve. I do know of any fallen officer that has not recieved the tri

Ken, I agree, my hubby is a police officer, and he never leaves the house without I love you, and I love you too. He always tells the kids when they leave the house, be careful, I love you. I always tell him be safe, and I love you. These could be final words, sadly. These are not only words but deep feelings. I bet your wife does the same when you leave to go to work. My husband always tells his crew, be safe out there, your main objective is to return home. You can never say these words too much. To your spouse your parents or your children, the meaning sinks in. These are words that

QT aren't you too young for Captain Kangroo? (this is a compliment) I know my age and you look too young(Palulding.com jackets) to be in this era. I remember him when it was just black and white tv. Telling my age aren't I.

I am so glad that they have started posting, since The Dallas New Era only comes out once a week, and sometimes the AJC does not list our friends in Paulding County. Thanks.

Thanks Ken, I agree with you, she was a great inspiration to us all. If anyone knows this family and wants to pay respects contact Ebhardt Funeral Home. If you knew her you were blessed. She gave so much of herself to this county, friends, chruch, school and to her family. I only hope that if given the circumstances I could fight as hard as she did. She has two wonderful children, her courage, fight, great spirit, and brightness has shone through on them.

A great woman Lucinda(I hope I spelled it right) Aiken has passed away after a long long battle with cancer. I do not know the details. but I do know she will be greatly missed. She fought long and hard with disease, and she did not do it silently. For as long as I have known her she has been active with the community, the schools, PTA's, althetics, and her family even when she was battling this disease. She did not give up. My daughter grew up with Rochelle, and we loved her. Whenever I saw Rochelle from young days to growing up she always offered a hug. Still love you and I offer you a hug n
