Any news on Douglas County yet? I'm listening to their radio traffic and people are sliding off the roads everywhere. I guess they will wait until the last minute. We live in Lithia Springs in my driveway is covered with snow I don't know about ice. My bones creak already.

The secret to making real dumplings is...make the mixture the same as you would for biscuits except don't use milk, use cold water and make the dough very stiff, then use rolling pin to roll them out very thin. Then cut them in strips the size you want your dumplings to be, keeping them as close to the same size as possible so they cook evenly. Drop them into a rolling boil broth and let cook approx. 20 minutes...depending on how thick or thin you roll them out. If they are thick it will take much longer to cook or they will turn out doughy.

I think if they are going to charge a surcharge for smokers then they should do the same for drinkers! JMO

Wasn't there a post on here not long ago about "Smokey the Bear", stating that the name was just "Smokey Bear" or did I just imagine that? I always said "Smokey the Bear". Well the government has stepped in and made all cigarette companies use a different kind of paper now that will go out on its on when not being used. I hear it's a pain, but I see the reasoning behind it. How many times have fires been started from a cigarette? Tons!!

There is one person where I work that likes their burnt. The smell is awful for about a day, after that it goes away. I hate to admit it but I have cooked the Mac & Cheese in the cup on more than one occasion without water in it...it smells awful! Now everyone watches when they see I have Mac & Cheese and they make sure I have water in it, EVEN if they see me add the water. Go figure.

Yep UM, you are very correct as far as specialized units on call. My ex-husband was a Homicide/Armed Robbery detective for CC for 17 years and was on call quite often. Cobb would let the detectives drive cars home only when there was a need for it. He too worked for PCSO for a while, I don't recall him ever driving a PCSO car home. I overheard a GSP officer respond to someone years ago at an bad accident at Six Flags state that he could be complained in all day long, the only person that he answered to was the Govenor, and complaining would not do any good. Makes you wonder about the motive

Mine would go out like you said with just a stiff breeze. I just changed over to Comcast at the first of this year. They have given me the run around, 1st they didn't send the DVR that they were suspose to, the man was just about to leave my home when I got thru to a Comcast Rep. who told me that the sub-contractor was at fault. He said if he had to come back there would be an extra fee. Extra fee my #@$, I had him call his dispatcher and they had made the mistake. When he came back with the receiver, he hooked it up but apparently didn't try it out. The next day I called Comcast and they
