  1. If you've purchased children's cough and cold medicine from CVS, Kroger, Rite-Aid or other dollar stores, you should check to make sure it is not a part of this recall. MORE: http://www.11alive.com/story/news/2016/01/12/company-recalls-childrens-cough-and-cold-medicine/78672524/
  2. Actually, he has made mistakes before: Brown's Hotel apparently also played a part in the break-up of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis before the premier of the duo's flick, "Living It Up." Who knew? In Nick Tosches' book, "Dino: Living High in the Dirty Business of Dreams," Jerry made arrangements for the 1954 world premiere of the film at Brown's — without telling Martin. "You should have consulted me first," Dean said. "I'm consulting you now," Lewis replied. "Actually, Jerry, I really don't care where we hold it," Deam retorted. And with that, Martin backed out of going t
  3. Did you not know that Jerry Lewis was a star performer in the Jewish Catskills? Here's a look at some of his history: http://drewfriedman.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-jerry-lewis-mural-at-browns.html Jerry Lewis had a long association with the Browns hotel's owners, Charles and Lillian Brown, beginning during his formative years in the early forties when he worked there as a waiter/tummler, perfecting his comedy craft. Since at my age I say the wrong things, I'm sure at his, he might have different feelings if he had time to think or respond to the moderator?
  4. That's crazy. When I had Piedmont Wellstar Medicare Choice until last week, I could get an appointment at East Paulding Primary Care the next day. Wonder if I'll have to wait for April for my next appointment?

  6. Had a great time at The Steak House in Rockmart in the past. Wondering how it is now? I know folks used to drive up from the Big Peach! Also wondering about the Pizza Farm, where the food is good, except for the Pizza?
  7. Great. Went to Stokes Friday and found out that the show was canceled tonight for a family party. Posted on their FB page a few hours ago. Was originally going to Felix, but they posted about an obstruction on their street and a late start time.
  8. Walmart already has the employees for three shifts. A day or two fine, not one or two weeks, but Kohls employees may have to watch the kids while their spouse is working nights at a nearby hospital or when the kids are off from school. Or maybe they need to buy presents as stores other than Kohls? And, yes, I ordered everything online his year. Why should they expect a lot of overnight visitors? Remember, Kohls is the home of the not-quite-real discounts. If they fixed those, they wouldn't have to try this!!!
  9. One department store has announced that they will be open 24 hours a day until Christmas Eve. Why? Won't mention the store because I don't want this to succeed. I hope others won't follow suit.
  10. Wanted to take our grandkids to a light show Friday evening I knew about the Felix House Now, someone on Patch posted that the Stokes house, seen on WSB, is the best: See below for what happened. Actually the WSB article featured 4 shows in Dallas. See http://m.wsbtv.com/news/entertainment/frozen-dueling-banjos-rapper-featured-christmas-li/npkbp/ for all and more.

  14. We almost had a fire of our dryer lint last year. We had no idea there was a compartment below the dryer where the lint collected until the dryer stopped drying and we called a guy to check it.
  15. Some of it will go towards a home that will accommodate grandma's current family and her new arrivals.
  16. Wellstar started their own Medicare Advantage Plan, an HMO, 2 years ago along with Piedmont, but just cancelled it because they were losing a bunch. It was great for me as there was no premium above Medicare and low co-pays. So we just switched to the Aetna Medicare Advantage Plan for next year, a PPO and slightly cheaper than their HMO.
  17. I just had to switch from Piedmont Wellstar Medicare Advantage, because they are shutting down. I spoke with the same agent who handles several plans and we worked out which one was best for us. Will be happy to provide contact info if you PM me. She went over all of our medical charges and the MD List my wife and I are using. She took all the tie I needed and we found a plan that handles all of our doctors and any more that we might need. No premium beyond Medicare. THought we'd wind up with an HMO, but this PPO is actually cheaper than the one we were going for originally.
