  1. I call it Daylight SavingS time. I like the fall back part, but wish they would leave it on that schedule instead of doing the whole spring forward thing. Yeah, Babe Cake, I think they don't recognize it in the mountain and pacific time zones.
  2. George was an amazing man with the kindest heart. We are all so sad that he is gone, but thankful that he's not suffering anymore. He was so excited about the Hayride, sporting his t-shirt around town, coming by to watch the progress...doing everything he could to help Paul and Jason get this thing going. Unfortunately, he was too sick to come once it actually started. That sweet man will be missed by so many. Everyone please keep Paul and Nick and the grandkids in your prayers...they will certainly be in ours.
  3. The weather is nippy and there's BBQ, hot boiled peanuts, hot apple cider, hot chocolate, and coffee to warm you up before you get on! Come get your tickets before the lines get long! Guys, this is great opportunity to snuggle with your sweetie...she'll be chilly AND scared, so you'll get a double dose!
  4. Glad you posted this! I didn't even think about the fact that you work on chainsaws, too. :duh: I will make sure Jason (Xtreme Tree Worx) is aware!!
  5. I can't see the video, but is this the one where the child rolls off the train platform and the train hits the stroller, but he's okay...just a bump on his head?
  6. I'm so sorry. The rain had just made an awful mess, and then it continued to rain off and on all night. Hope to see everybody tonight! Woohoo!!
  7. The rain has washed away some places in the hayride, and until we can get on the bobcat and make everything safe and secure, we've decided to cancel tonight's ride. We WILL reopen tomorrow night at normal time, so y'all come on out then!
  8. I am so shocked and saddened to hear this. Rhonda taught all my children in VBS and Sunday School a few years ago, and she was such a sweet, genuine person. My heart is just breaking for Jimmy and the girls, and the entire Gurley family. They will all be in my prayers, and I pray that they can find comfort in the fact that she is with Jesus now.
  9. We were going to place our 2nd t-shirt order this week, but we've decided to wait until Monday because we have so much going on. I thought I'd throw out the final offer for sponsors to get in on it at the last minute. For a $500 sponsorship you get: Your logo/phone number on the back of the Haunted Junkyard Hayride t-shirt Your banner can be hung on our fence (which faces 92 at the intersection of Ridge Rd) for a year You can come out on the nights/days we are open and set up a booth or just come and give out flyers Just hanging your banner on the fence is WELL worth the money
  10. It's somewhat kid friendly. We've had parents bring kids of all ages at thier own discretion. I've seen a teenager leave scared to death, and I've seen a 3 year old leave laughing, and everything in between, so it's really hard to say. It IS scary, but you have to decide for your own children if you think they can handle it. Check the website for details. www.hauntedjunkyardhayride.com
  11. You are always so postive and inspirational, weatherboy!
  12. Just pray for God's will, and actually let Him have it instead of holding onto it yourself. When I do that, things turn out sooooo much better than if I had tried to run the show.
  13. You should've waited til tomorrow, and you could've come to the Haunted Junkyard Hayride.
  14. Thanks! I'm glad they had fun!! Thanks for the suggestion, too. We have a large sign at the junkyard pointing people toward Panter, and small signs leading the way, but I think they just aren't paying attention to it. I think next year we will do one of those large lighted road construction-type signs like they have at the fair.
  15. You can come by early on the day you want to come (thurs, fri, or sat) and pick them up. We start ticket sales at 5:30 (you can park AT the junkyard just to purchase tickets). Saturday (weather permitting), the 4H will be there giving horse and pony rides starting at noon, so you can buy tickets at any time that day. Look forward to seeing you! We've had quite a few birthday parties come through! I think your kids will love it!
  16. Yes, but she will not have computer privledges for a while. Funny thing is, of course, that she doesn't know how she did it.
  17. NO idea how she did it, but she caused a star break about as big as a quarter in the top corner of the laptop. Now the whole screen is fried. Is the computer ruined or can it be fixed?
  18. Google Dr. Barry McKernan. He's in woodstock but worth the drive. He did mine and my mom's. There's no way I'd be operated on at Cobb Hospital unless there was no other option.
  19. Just a reminder that ticket sales start at 5:30! Come get yours early and stay and have some off the chain BBQ!!
