  1. I am presuming that you get a porkchop sandwich at Slappy's at least once a visit. I saw the movie "Lord of the Rings" at the Mayberry Theater. It was when the movie had been out long enough to be at the dollar theater. Neat thing was, I was the only person in the theater. (I sat in every seat, just cause I could)
  2. They were cousins at the start of the show, but they decided not to continue with that and made them just friends. I go to Mount Airy, NC on business many times a year, that is Andy Griffith's home town and Mayberry was loosely based on Mt. Airy. Themla Lou (Betty Lynn) lives there and one day I was coming out of the Food Lion and a nice little old lady saw my GA tag and said "welcome to Mayberry", it was Thelma Lou (Betty Lynn). Bobby Lee Cook is a relative.
  3. Mine is not in a basement, so do I get a pass also?
  4. If there is one thing I have tried to teach my son, it is to do the right thing because it is the right thing, no matter what the outcome. If we always try and do the right thing then it makes it easier to live with ourselves and those around us.
  5. I too am a Cobb transplant and I have lived here since '93. I lived in Cobb when it was the number one fastest growing county in the country. I lived in Cherokee when it was number one also. I worked in Gwinnett when it was the number one fastest growing county in the country. While I lived or worked in all 3 of these counties during that time they all had the same exact growing pains that Paulding has been going through and is faced with now. I have met and become friends with a lot of people in Paulding. Some native Paulding people and some from other areas. There is a LOT of goo
  6. My father had a stock answer he gave when people asked him if the food was good at (whatever place). His answer, which fits all "is the food there good?" questions on here, was "It is if you like it.".
  7. I would like to come out and make public that I am a lesbian trapped in a man's body.
  8. Nope, I do not understand it. When you go to the ER with a real emergency, they will treat you. You then go to the paymment department who will work out a payment plan. So you can contribute or pay as much on that bill as wish to or are able to. Or in many cases, never pay at all. If you have made bad life choices that put you in a position where you cannot afford to see a doctor when you wish to, then why is that my problem. As I said before, personal responsibilty. I do my best to take care of my family; wife, son, her 2 kids and the 2 grandkids, my mom and if need be, my brother.
  9. Well women did get the right to vote in 1920 and then in only nine short years look what happened, Oct. 29, 1929 Black Tuesday. Cause and effect? Makes you wonder. (for those who do not get it, the tongue is firmly planted in the cheek)
  10. First, I wonder if the above statement fits the majority of the american people. Second, if it is correct, then in my opinion that is problem with this country. What happened to taking responsibilty for your own welfare and your families welfare? Sadly there are those who make very bad choices and taking care of them instead of letting them learn, if possible, from their mistakes is not helping. I do not pretend to have the answers to the health care problem in the US, in fact no one on this site does. If they did they would not be here, they would be where that knowledge could be
  11. Sad, but it seems to be true. A friend of mine's father told me back in 1980 that if the country continued on the path it was on, then the US was headed for the end. As he explained, due to our age it probably wouldn't affect my friend and I as much, but he worried for our children and our grandchildren. He was a very wise man.
  12. Growing up in Cobb and living for many years across from Dobbins in the 80's, I've seen AF1 many times. Because of where the enterance to our condo complex was located, when the Pres was coming in or leaving, they would station a guard with a automatic rifle at our entrance and we could not leave. I was late for work a few times because of this. Makes a heck of an excuse, an armed guard wouldn't let me leave, he said the Pres told him to do it.
  13. No matter how negative my opionon is of Obama, and belive me its pretty negative, even I cant begrudge him a couple of chili dawgs, a ring and a FO.
  14. Our bus driver was retired military, smoked unfiltered Camels and had a no getting out your seat policy. If you broke the rules, he pulled the bus over and off you went. Only happened twice to the best of my memory. No one wanted to walk and if you parents found out, both your feet and your rear would be sore.
  15. Last one for sure. Again, I know it is really hard, but re-read the post and see what was said and by whom. Again, I do not know what you keep typing about testicles but that is you issue. (oh wait, because someone typed it you assume it is true, well that says a lot) As I said before, my only post on this thread, until I was attacked, answered a question from Mr. Dis and had things to do in the Boston area in it. Nice to see that you know what you are and sad to see that you are proud of it. No need to reply as I am outta here.
  16. Again, I have not said anything to you or Rockysmom that was negative. But you sure don't mind proving over and over what kind of person you are. I don't know what this obsession is you and Rockysmom have with testicles, but I would suggest counsuling. Just a thought. Bless ya'lls hearts. As far as you having any power over me, if that helps you, you keep beliving that.
  17. OK last one. First, I am not sure who appointed you the keeper of the gate for posting on Pcom but again, it proves a point. Second, I answered Mr. Dis's question about chiness food and in the same post listed several things to do in Boston. Third, look it up, Rockysmom is the one that started this. I lied, this is the last one. Check back, I have never insulted you or Rockymom yet you both have found it necessary to call me names. I just make the observation that you doing so proves a point.
  18. I thank you both for proving what you said about yankees. No better example than your posts.
  19. Oh I have a sense of humor. Nice of you to insult my son (not sons) but then that seems to be your style. Again living up to the standard. I don't know what "other screen name means" but you feel free to make all the assumptions you wish, you seem to have a talent for it. I never mentioned any of things you accused me of, but again you have proven a point. Sadly not the one you wanted to prove.
  20. I take it your follow your own "advice" and never say anything about southerners or the south.
  21. A few thoughts. 1. If you don't mind I would prefer not to follow your lead. I try not to say things like "bite me" to people I don't know. Of course that is just how we were raised. 2. I never said yankees were rude. I just quoted Lucky64 who typed that and from her post, I it appears she is from the Boston area. But you feel free to make up whatever you want me to say so you can feel better about saying ugly things to people. 3. Oh I trust you and I have no doubt that you are quite capable of saying a lot worse. 4. I am not interested in what you have hanging off your truck
  22. No thank you. But I guess it was nice of you to offer. But glad to see you living up to the standard. Quote from Lucky64: "Ahhhh Home, how I miss you so.....rude SOB's."
