  1. His name is Charles Stanley (Stan) Parsons and I heard he passed away last Saturday. His son Zach passed away in September. If you knew Stan and know about his passing, please send me a PM. Thank you. I know Stan may not have always taken the best road, but I enjoyed his friendship a few years ago and I had hopes for better things for him in the future.
  2. Preach it brother! I know what I have seen in the past and I know what I see now and I know the difference between the two. Like you said, if you see a good hit, there come the flags. Dion is a great example, so are a lot of players like him. As far as dying because of playing football, you makes your choice and spins the wheel.
  3. As far as a million dollars goes, I may not be happy, but no one in Paulding would know. (unless you came to the beach on the island I was living on) As far as Tod Pownall goes, I have never had a reason to not believe him when he said something, so until I have proof otherwise, I will believe Todd. Simply because I know him and have had enough dealings with him to respect him and his word.
  4. I have been watching pro football since the mid 60's. I have been attending pro games live since the late 70's. Up until a few years ago, I went to every Falcons home game since 1980. I have seen a lot of football both on TV and in person and I can tell you that the hitting back in the day was more consistently harder than today. In other words, the players hit harder more often then they do now. Perhaps it is because they played with more heart and drive back then. Now there are some players that will play and hit hard in today's game, but they are the rare exception. Buddy Curry was a
  5. Sorry, I can't help you any more than I already have. But Happy New Year!
  6. Two things. One watch your tone mister, I was just asking for information. Two, if I ain't getting a new golf course, then forget the whole thing.
  7. Use the store locator on Academy's website, they are everywhere.
  8. Is there enough business to support the Cobb Galleria, which already is operating and doing well and one in Paulding? Wouldn't the one in Marietta be doing better if there was extra need? What would make the one in Paulding different from the one in Marietta? Can I get a nice, low priced, golf course out of this?
  9. Am I understanding correctly that the one in Marietta has not done well? If that is correct, then it would only make sense that one in Paulding would do worse. And the one in Marietta has a decent gold course attached.
  10. Go bang heads for your whole life and then sue because you have a head injury. If I was on the jury I would rule this way: You are shocked that you have a head injury after beating you head against other people for your entire life? That makes you a moron and that is an preexisting condition. No money for you!
  11. Yep, it is the lawsuits that are behind this. Mike on ESPN's Mike & Mike, said this morning that it was extremely satisfying to see football being played in the Notre Dame game, in others words, hitting.
  12. I listen to Old Time Radio Shows on XM Radio. But, I just figured out how to audible books on my Kindle and I will listen to one on the way back home.
  13. Wrong. Hitting has nothing to do with size and everything to do with heart.
  14. I had BK. It was that or Micky D's or what passes for a sandwich shop in this little town. Didn't feel like driving to the next town to eat.
  15. I guess what we have seen over the past 50 years or so don't count, just what the NFL says counts. Who are we going to believe, the "experts" or our lying eyes. I can promise these "kids" today would hate to have Curtis, Nitschke, Jones, Lambert, Tatum, Butkus, Lane, Lanier, Bednarik or many others from the 50's, 60's, 70's and even the 80's tackling them today. Heck Lawrence Taylor for all his bullcrap was a heck of hitter.
  16. You have no clue what you are talking about. Ever hear of Hardy Brown? No? Thought so. He used to knock the other players out when he tackled them, I mean OUT. That is if he didn't break their jaw or face. He wasn't the only hard hitter from those days, most of the hardest hits in football are from the "old days". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkTat1eStNs
  17. I want a Sweet Tomatoes and a noodle bowl place.
  18. If you build it, they will come.
  19. And those players didn't make crap for money. Jack Youngblood played with a broken leg, what NFL player would do that today? I don't mean a leg that was in a cast, I mean he broke his leg during the game and never came out of the game.
