  1. Holy mother of...... I only read the first sentence, I couldn't go any further. What kind of twisted thought process relates the dumping of raw sewage in a local waterway, by a city government, to the Ford Pinto. I was afraid to read further as my head might explode from trying to make the twists and turns and backflips needed to figure out how that could possibly relate.
  2. "Show me who is paying?" And the point I made in my post is proved. "So I'm always perplexed when all I can get out of you folks is that commercial aviation is bad, bad, bad ... while Delta and HJ is good ... and if that isn't a walking, talking contradiction, I don't know what is." Since this is included as a reply to my post and I said not one dang thing about commercial aviation being bad or good, nor about Delta or HJ being bad or good, nor have I ever said any one of those were bad or good, I can only presume that you are replying to the voices in your head. "And str
  3. "Not sure if you really believe this or are just using propaganda." Those who have no core principles, those who can be bought by whoever pays the most, those who have no understanding of what it means to stand for something because you believe it is the right thing to do, not because anyone is paying you to do it. These people are incapable of believing or comprehending those who do have core principles and who can't be bought and who do stand for things just because they believe it's the right thing to do. So they are incapable of understanding people who stand for what they believ
  4. Back in the late 70s, we were told by President Carter that the US was going on the metric system. Finally the day came that we were to start switching to metric. About 3 days later, we decided that going metric was waaaay to hard and just quit. The only lasting effects from the US going metric, that are still with us today, are in the soft drink business and with cocaine dealers.
  5. I haven't seen or heard everything that has been said in the BOC meetings, but I did see and hear this today. Before I discuss what I saw and heard, let me say this. I have always said that if you are going to say that someone is "on the take" or "being backed" or any other phrase that means that an elected official and/or their vote, has been "bought", you better have evidence and proof to back that up, otherwise, it's just an opinion and we know we all the saying about opinions and rear ends. Now to my point. I cannot express how shocked and saddened I was to hear Mr. Austin say, duri
  6. Again, you need to quit blaming Todd for your failings. It's not his fault no one wanted you to be dogcatcher. What a sad, bitter man.
  7. Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?
  8. A trillion here, a trillion there, pretty soon you're talking real money.
  9. What a country!! ( or county) If grow up here, go to school here and come back here, you get a lifetime job, regardless of results. My boss liked me, A LOT, I mean, A LOT. He thinks I am a good salesman and a good guy. Yet, when my heath started causing me to be unable to do my job successfully, my boss and I met to discuss what they needed to do as a company to make sure the job was being done successfully. It required me to have to step down and become an independent contractor. Like Tessio said, Nothing personal, just business.
  10. I am so freaking sick and tired of hearing, "7 generations" "carried the tax burden". Mr. Austin, my family carried the burden in Cobb County and in Forsyth County for many generations. Guess what? The people that live in and pay taxes, today, in those counties, don't give a good tinkers damn about how much money and how long my family has paid taxes in those counties. Why?? Because the man or woman who lives in a county and pays their county tax, count just as much as someone who family goes back 7 generations, no matter if they just moved there. There is no such thing as a platinum
  11. Watching Mr. Smith address our Board of Commissioners. As a professional BSer, I can tell you, he is not only a big BSer, he is not very good at it. His attitude and the way he addressed our Commissioners was not very respectful. My opinion, yours may differ. Just a piece of advice, don't piss off someone that employes half as many people that live in Paulding and can buy and sell this county. Not good business. This whole thing has been a debacle from the get go. The same thinking that created the problem, cannot solve the problem. I am referring to all parties involved. The
  12. I was gonna attend, but I decided the meeting would last waaay longer than my attention span, so I went to the gym instead. I walked (slowly) on the treadmill and watched the pretty girls, my attention span never wavers from pretty girls.
  13. You can trust Pubby, after all, he is an expert on scheist.
  14. Beach Bum, not sure why your confused, but here you go. In my 57 yrs, I have lived in Cobb County, starting when I came home from being born, 4 different times (numerous locations), in Fulton County 2 different times (2 locations), in Cherokee County 1 time (2 locations) and in Paulding County 2 times (3 locations). Hope this helps. ETA, if I wasn't a citizen of Paulding, why would I be meeting with Mr. Swafford, Mr. Carmichael and attending Paulding County town hall meetings? Since every county has it's issues and problems, I would be doing these things in the county I lived in. Heck,
  15. Back around 2000, I counted 14 BBQ places in Paulding. Yet, no decent Eyetalian joint, never mind Meditarain or Greek. There is a real good Thai place, Thai Mango on 278, catty cornered from the Racetrac. (the other Racetrac, not the one across from Home Depot)
  16. Yep, and so did a pretty decent Cajun restaurant, but the good news is, we got another BBQ joint coming.
  17. But, but, but... "Hell, even the raw sewerage emitted by wildlife exceeds the sewerage deposited in the greater basin over the course of a year." - pubby
  18. Just always type, "the majority of people that voted", and end the nit picking.
  19. Very true. I am a great example of that. Just for the record, I'm not saying I would have done better.
  20. That is exactly what you wrote. Sure...the fact that she came across as a wacky lady had nothing to do with it.
