"Men always want to do what you tell them not to do." "If I hadn't told my brother 'Stumpy' not to clean out that wood chipper by hand, we might still be calling him Edward." No real point to this post, just something I heard.

I would eat there, but I don't wait in a long line to eat any food.

On those rare occasions when I am up and out (and they are rare) in the mornings, I am always shocked, floored, flabbergasted and surprised by the line of cars going into a Martins. The only way I would wait in a line that long to get a biscuit is if they GAVE me the biscuit and a $100 bill with it. Even then, I may not go but a couple of times a week. If you are a Martins kinda person, god bless you and enjoy your biscuits, and be happy to know that there is one less person who may be in line in front of you. They aren't giving away hundred dollar bills.....are they?

Thanks, I think I got her done.

How do you go about putting it on FB? I use the wife's account to keep up with the grandkids (and a certain actress/singer) but have never done more than comment on one of the grandkids pictures. The wife is out of town and I will post it, but don't know how. I know she would do that if she was here.

Locally, Merle's has good burgers, onion rings....?? For my money, the Varsity has the best onion rings. Burgers, the place down at Little 5 Points, the name escapes me.

To those who were able to help, I along with others say "Good Job". I wasn't able to get over due to getting back in town and my son, but I will stop by pcom tomorrow and make a donation. And drop of one of Thad's ramekins (SP?), or as I call it "fancy dish".

Local Politics (and our scumbag politicians)
cookies are sweet replied to cmorg's topic in RECENT TOPICS
In my opinion, presuming that the politician is not a crook, what is wrong with most local (and mean local everywhere, not just here) is the elected officials start taking things personal. Also, egos get in the way and once again it becomes personal. It should be treated as "just business", not personal. If they could do that, then maybe, just maybe, things would run better everywhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d30Y0n1nDH4 -
Father leaves wife and daughter...

Not only do I "have know side", I also have no idea, if you are correct or not. And I apparently have no idea what I am typing at times, much less how to proof read. How in the heck do I type "have know side" for "have no idea" and not see what I have done? This is just one more example of why I am not allowed to own nuclear weapons. -

First, you could be absolutely correct, I have know side. Second, it was not uncommon for people who were terminally I'll in those days to leave their families in order not to be burden. Third, the standard treatment in those days for TB, was to go to the states with dry arid conditions, such as AZ. In fact, the famous, or infamous, Doc Holiday, a GA boy, left Atlanta and went to TX, CO and of course Tombstone, AZ as a treatment for his TB. He lived, I think, around 20 yrs after being told his demise was imminent. Who knows what the truth is? Your bet is as good as anyone else's. -

It is that. I have enjoyed everyone's opinions and thoughts, some of which hadn't occurred to me. (besides the correlation with the ebola dude) I love it when I see something one way and then someone else come along and sees it from a totally different prospective. It makes me think (ok, I don't like that part) and re-examine how I am looking at it. Whether I end up changing my thoughts totally or just adding news ones about the topic, I like it! -
Posters have explained that it is surepip and his wife. A few years ago I was siting next to nice lady (and not a bad looking one either) and we struck up a conversation. We talked for 15-20 minutes and (as far as I am concerned) had a really great conversation. The lady was truly a lady, smart, funny and just a pleasure to talk to. Low and behold, this turned out to be surepip's wife, Melissa. Later I met surepip and he is just an interesting man. He and I kinda had a lot of the same experiences growing up, he had his several years before I had mine, what we with me being so much younge

With the rare exception, you do have to put a little effort into getting AIDS. Buy them dinner, drinks, maybe a movie..... OK, the second line was a joke, the first line was serious.

I know, a couch? One of the cool things is that even when she was alive and living there, except for her bedroom, the rest of the house was open to people. You could sit on the couch or whatever. It is still that way.
