  1. They look scared to me. I watched an interview earlier with one of the kids who shot the video. He confirmed my thoughts. As far as the mother goes, I'm hearing she died this past year along with the girls grandmother. I hope you guys realize sometimes even with the best parents, kids act up.
  2. Even the sheriff himself said that the officer was out of line. I'm not sure why its so hard for some of you to see that. I asked my teenage daughter how she felt about this story today and she said it scares her. She's never been in trouble a day in her life yet she's still frightened by it. When you watch the video you can see many of the students staring straight ahead looking scared. Is that what we want? For our kids to be afraid of the school resource officer? Sorry, but this guy gives the school resource officers who do their jobs honorably day in and day out a bad name. He deserve
  3. The last time I made Brunswick stew I used a leftover smoked Boston butt. Holy crap it was good. Glad to hear you're cooking again!
  4. I never even leave kitchen knives within reach. I can't understand what's so difficult about putting a gun away. I'm sick and tired of irresponsible gun owners and children dying because of them.
  5. My parents would have said all the same things. And I would say all of those things to my kids as well. That doesn't change how I would feel if this happened to one of my kids. The officer was out of line and as it's already been pointed out, this isn't the first time.
  6. I doubt very seriously anyone here would be okay with their child being treated like that. The girl was wrong to not do what was expected of her but to drag her to the floor in that way seems a little (a lot) excessive.
  7. But not surprising. The second to the last time a Jehovah's Witness came to my house I told her I wasn't interested. She had a child with her. She said "so you don't care about the Bible?" This poor little girl was with her, I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to be rude, it's not that I don't care about the Bible. I just don't appreciate people on my front porch preaching to me. I was polite as I could be considering the little girl but I couldn't help but feel bad for her. The last time Jehovah's Witnesses came to my door I had a pitbull. Problem solved. She wanted them to pet
  8. We haven't carved ours yet. Probably tomorrow. We usually do it earlier but not much earlier because of the whole rotting issue.
  9. I am so scared for the people in the path of this storm. I mean, holy cow. Sending lots of good thoughts to them.
  10. Us too! Our recycling truck runs every other week and its always full on pickup day. I get such a satisfied feeling when I see my recycling bin full. I'm a recycling nerd. I never really thought about how much stuff we were throwing away before that could be recycled. And we're saving a lot of money on trash bags!
  11. 167 views. I think you would be surprised by the amount of people who silently contribute.
  12. His name is Kevin and he's the owner of Turf King.
  13. If anybody needs a landscaper or free landscaping advice. PM me, seriously. I'm not looking to advertise. I'm just being a decent human who happens to know another decent human that is very good at landscaping.
  14. And the Republicans have such a wonderful pool to choose from. It's kind of like when you point your finger at someone else yet you have 3 more pointing back at you.
  15. Hubby says he wouldn't go past the end of October.
  16. I'm glad they caught him. My sons school sent him a note about the incident and the lockdown. I appreciated that.
  17. I think McDonalds got it wrong. They should be serving lunch and dinner all day. Also, if they can serve breakfast all day then they can surely bring back the McRib more than once every two years.
  18. His dentist loves him. As far as not wearing a costume, my son has sensory issues and refused to wear a costume until he was four. We were so excited when he finally decided he would wear one last year. Now he can't wait for trick or treating this year. He's going as Groot from guardians of the galaxy. He is Groot.
  19. I agree with giving them a chance to work out the kinks. If I had it my way though, it would still be an Arby's.
  20. My son loves trick or treating but he doesn't eat candy. It's a win-win for everyone.
  21. I think a lot of people have been busy shopping at the new Freds.
  22. I'm pretty sure we all agree on more things than we think we do. The Internet can be so divisive.
  23. I just read that on Facebook. Unbelievable. I hope they file charges. I can't imagine they wouldn't.
