Nobody said the area should be fire bombed. Yet.

I'm thinking that might be a health code violation.

Long lines . . . early in the morning? I'm going to guess onion rings.

Yeah, well we're just one black-kid-killed-by-a-white-cop away from that already. Why not take some serious precautions (against an outbreak)?

Vortex! Their food is yums! And I like the Varsity - but really only the downtown location.

You make a good point. However, if this spreads to the point of being a global epidemic - or pandemic - then the economy will pretty much be shot anyway.

That concerns me, too.

Thank you. That LPPT - she is a hard worker . . . and after her heart issue just - what? - a week ago?? I just wish I could have done more.

I was afraid another space would be needed - and glad one was acquired. And it should be said that I was impressed by how hard everyone worked to get this done. Now - you better take it easy for a couple of days!

I left just before 4 and there was still some things that needed to get done. We got a lot done over the last 3 days, that's for sure. I'm hoping that all the things that needed to get moved . . . did. There were some hard working people there this weekend.

Yeah, I can't stop thinking about them . . . and I feel so bad.

A lot of good that did.

I have no problem with resources being sent to west Africa to get this thing under control. And in the mean time, do something to keep it contained.

Agreed. It seems that some type of accountability panel needs to be put in place, some system of checks and balances - one that actually works. Also, there should be nothing at all done by any local official (aside from law enforcement maybe) that isn't immediately made available - in minute detail. -
And when they are asked why it would be counter-productive, they claim that it would prevent getting supplies and workers into West Africa. I guess that if a travel ban is imposed that would keep people from that area from coming here, even a private/military flight (with authorization) couldn't get in or out. Sure.

That would be more accurate.

Why would they be? The current administration doesn't care about what people want, need, can afford . . . nothing. They will simply continue trying to pacify us.

I cannot vote in this (or any) poll on this site. Don't know why. But if it was possible, I would want every person in office at this time to give evidence (and support it) why they should keep their position. I would want public hearings to hear the evidence and come to a decision. I would also want every elected position to have the exact same pay rate, and that the pay rate not exceed the median income of residents 18 and over.

First, let's get one thing very clear: I did not suggest, hint at, or mention anything about armed conflict and killing. I do love that you cannot stop your political games long enough to have a rational discussion - it gives me a laugh. . . trying to associate me pointing out the fact that serious change is needed with armed conflict. To your point of "turn[ing] to the established political system to effect change" - the problem is with the established political process in the first place. How can one use a shattered tool to build a better tool? The system is the problem and i -
On my way now.

Pubby - Your mentality is part of the problem. Nowhere in my post did I mention party affiliation, nor did I lay blame on any party. As I see it, the problem has nothing to do with party and everything to do with the actual people. When the local problems continue to be framed in an "us verses them" scenario, we will continue to have the same breakdown at the polls - and in our opinions - along a party line . . . And we will continue to have the same types of problems - and the same lack of solutions - because some want to blame "the other guy" and their only solution is pa- 38 replies

Well, we are talking about politicians . . . -
Perhaps I shouldn't have started anything in a topic meant to help people who have been wronged. So let's talk about it here. My opinion is that the politicians we have voted into office to serve us and our county are self-centered, self-serving scum that have lost their way - unless their "way" was always to screw us to serve their own wants and needs. Further, it is my opinion that they need to understand there are consequences when they forget they are servants and they need to be reminded of their place. I think building the airport was probably the stupidest

WTF is a vegan cat? Is that the same as a cat with no teeth? For the record, I have not seen a cat there in the past two days (but I did see two dogs - one of them has no hair!!)
