  1. First, you and others are being quite condescending and insulting here. I've been very civil to you and everyone else. There is no need to be condescending. I'm not sure why you listed these. I'm not even sure why you keep trying to bring up the fact that science is always exploring and looking for new information. My point is that you are confusing theory with hypothesis. The theory that global warming and climate change are real and caused by man has been shown to be true over and over. The evidence for this is overwhelming. The hypothesis then is that man is the cause of the current gl
  2. That's not what it means. A Scientific Theory means it has been tested over and over and there is near universal acceptance. You are confusing continual research and exploration with (hypothesis) with theory. When information like you've been giving here has been dis-proven, then that is no longer accepted. The stuff you keep mentioning is junk science and has been dis-proven over and over. You're not engaging in science but irrational thought. Yes, there is always new information, but junk science is discarded.
  3. What? You do know that a Scientific Theory means it has been proven? Theory in science means it is no longer questioned.
  4. That's not your issue. Science always seeks out new understandings, but when the evidence disproves one idea over and over, that idea should be rejected and the verifiable idea accepted. Yes, research continues and new information is always taken into consideration even to disprove accepted ideas, and in order to do that there has to be verifiable evidence. To continue to cling to dis-proven ideas is not science but foolish. Global warming has been verified over and over. The ideas you keep throwing out there have been debunked as junk science just like astrology has been debunked years ago.
  5. The claim is not hard science. It was debunked by real scientists years ago. Here is the NASA site that summarizes the science. http://www.giss.nasa.gov/research/news/20101014/ You're still hopping around like a blog bunny in the echo chamber of pseudo-science. The Geocraft site is not a scientific site but a blog. The author is Monte Hieb and there is no information about his credentials except he works in the mining industry. There are no papers published by him.
  6. That's not what his research showed. The new research we have now confirms that the effects of the industrial revolution did cause global warming.
  7. He said that there were rising CO2 levels over time and his numbers were accurate. The information he researched was used to build upon new research that shows how human activity is causing global warming.
  8. Not playing a game. I have answered your questions with the information but I'm not going to play any games. This is about science and it is time that people listened to the real scientists and not political machinery trying to tear down science to extort power.
  9. The real science? Callendar didn't know what he was talking about? His research was very good though on the low end of the estimation.
  10. The work of Callendar says otherwise. His research built on earlier research that said as much.
  11. You're playing a game. The information about global warming is there. You're trying to obfuscate the issue.
  12. I'm not going to play a game. You can read the general info on the wiki links. The NASA site has some information too.You can read it.
  13. All of that is covered in the information on the NASA site. There are so many scientific articles and magazines out there that cover this. Pick one. The information is there and anyone can read it.
  14. It's not bogus. Don't be a blog bunny jumping around to far right bloggers. James Taylor is not a scientist but is with the far right think tank Heartland Institute.
  15. There was a time when science said man couldn't change the weather or damage the planet with climate change, too. Science looked at the evidence in the 1940 era and realized that man is causing global warming. Did you read all the piece? Do you know the polar ice caps are on land and not in the ocean?
  16. Would you please give some source that global cooling was the majority opinion in the 1970s? There are some that still say tobacco has no harmful effects, too. The evidence for this has been settled. The only people who are still pitching fits over it are in the political sphere of the far right. The overwhelming number of scientists say it is man made. I guess the 97% of all scientists out there have closed minds on this.
  17. Your point of reference is not true. I don't know what else to do because I gave you the link for the basic info. Your perception of a few minority papers is dismissing the vast, vast majority of the scientific evidence from even the time period your referencing. Read the link. it is all there.
  18. The same NASA that has been doing this since the 1950s. The science is there. I'm not using it in a paper but for the bare bones facts, it works here.
  19. You said the ice caps were in the ocean. They are not. They are on land. Now you're using the Daily Mail article and the far right blogosphere to pass along the same false info with a misleading headline. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2738653/Stunning-satellite-images-summer-ice-cap-thicker-covers-1-7million-square-kilometres-MORE-2-years-ago-despite-Al-Gore-s-prediction-ICE-FREE-now.html Read all of the Daily Mail piece. http://www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Observing_the_Earth/CryoSat/Ice_sheet_highs_lows_and_loss
  20. All of the objections you raised are answered in detail on the NASA site. There are many sources out there. I used wiki because it is concise and easy to read. For the purposes here, wiki is a good source because it covers the highlights from 50,000 feet.
  21. The data has been clear on this for a long time. Even in the 40s, the data was there. http://climate.nasa.gov/causes/
  22. The ice caps are not in the ocean but on land. A portion of the ice sheet extends on top of the ocean. When this ice melts, the ocean will rise because that is new fresh water added to the ocean.
  23. The Northeast certainly had record snowfall but the temperature in the US in total was very mild. The fact that there are more severe extremes is one of the signs of global warming and that is the causation of climate change.
