  1. PsychoMom, are you volunteering to bring me moving boxes and a Uhaul? Sincerely, Soon to Be Ex-Yorkville resident
  2. Wow! That is crazy! I had a lot of problems getting my license/tag/insurance renewed/switched over when I moved to Gerogia because I was clueless to the way it worked. Where I moved from we had inspection stickers on the windshield stating the car was safe, as well as the tag. Well, if your emergency brake didnt work, even in an automatic, you couldnt get your sticker, and could be pulled over. Also, when the tag expired, it was at the end of the month, not on any exact day during the month, thats why I thought the officer might just give me a warning because the month wasnt over. Anyway, I
  3. Obviously because there are more "people" on the roads than officers. Either way...following too closely, last time I knew, was illegal and warrants a ticket. It is not getting them there any faster to be 10 feet further up on someones bumper. If you are going 55 mph, and the car behind you is going 55mph, you arrive at the same time, except for the few feet between the vehicles. No need to ride bumpers. And no need for officers to intimidate other motorists to get them to pull over for them. If they need the car to pull off for a non light/siren call, they can briefly flash their lights
  4. I dont think so. It was a hard time for me, and I didnt get the tag because I get paid twice a month and had absolutely no money prior to it expiring. I had been watching for them!!! I hadnt had any officers near me since it expired. I hated it, but I was getting it done the next day. What do they say---"A day late, a dollar short"? Anyway, I will say, it was a good lesson. My boys were with me, and I didnt pout and pitch a fit because of them. I told them I was wrong, and had to pay...all the while gritting me teeth in anger!!!
  5. I moved here from a very rural area, where crossing the lines wouldnt be an issue because we didnt have those center lanes with the double yellows. I had seen so many people crossing it and driving forever in that lane, that I thought it was the norm....until I saw people get pulled over for it!!
  6. No, he wasnt behind me long enough. I mean, his blues were on before I knew he was there and I am always checking my mirror due to crazies on Thornton Road/278. Plus, he didnt tell me why he pulled me over prior to running my info. I am 31 and have NEVER had a ticket either.
  7. Thats alright, and if you thought I was snapping at you, I apologize, that wasnt my intent. It is frustrating to hear about traffic accidents all the time, then hear about some nonsense ticket. I had an expired tag a year ago (okay, I've admitted fault), BUT it expired July 4th. I got pulled over on July 28th. How did he know it didnt expire on the 28th, 29th, 30th...? He didnt. He had another officer with him, and was being a tough guy. I wasnt making any traffic violations, so he was just testing his luck like the lottery. Well, he won, and I didnt fight it because I was wrong, but s
  8. Okay, you freaked me out!!! Thanks!
  9. Well, he reported the threat because it was ILLEGAL and to keep the names out of the news, which was good of him. Why wouldnt he tell his audience? I'd rather see that, than him hiding and saying "no comment" to reporters. NBC is actually the boss, not him. Co-workers date all the time and it is not a crime, even if one is the boss. As far as his wife goes..it happened prior to marriage, and how and why do you think she got him? I dont know for sure, but I'm thinking she is quite young. Do you really think she fell in love with an old man---or David Letterman?? Anyone that is going to be
  10. I'm sure. Not to mention all the people who were doing 15 mph over the speed limit, then slam on their brakes when they see the blues.
  11. Yes I did notice, just wanted to point out that this topic is about the gore violation, and writing such tickets without a warning, when there are far worse things happening everywhere is absurd. If they want to cut down on the high number of tragic deaths, then they need to spend their time writing tickets for what is causing the deaths. Speed, alcohol, inexperience. I'm with you, I hope they do cut back on the deaths, but taking a look at what they are ticketing for, it doesnt seem their priorities are in order.
  12. If thats the case, then they should spend their time pulling over speeding erratic drivers, we all know, are everywhere. Not hard to find one. When the officer was writing the ticket for the driver touching the yellow line in a turning lane (not oncoming traffic, but a turning lane), there were probably at least 15 cars speeding by. It seems for every one car doing the speed limit, 10 more that are speeding pass. Or at the store parking lot....far more dangerous for people to drive across parking spots, than it is to park out front...and we all know it only takes a second to see one of th
  13. A safety issue?? If I'm reading it correctly, there were no other cars. Vehicles touch their tires on the line all the time, white or yellow. I'm not saying its the best thing to do, when theres cars all around, but many of these negatives posts are pretty overboard. Questioning the Op's exact wording, etc. Picture it in your mind...merging into the turning lane and your tires touch the yellow line...no cars around, no speeding, no erratic swerving...I have to agree with the person that posted about PC needing to raise some funds in this hard time. If they ticketed every driver that touch
  14. If in fact he was just "on the line", that is a little over kill. Its ones like that, that give the rest a bad name. They have a difficult job to do, but I dont see where that warranted whipping around in the road and causing unnecessary chaos. I too hate it when cars drive in the center lane...for a mile or so before an intersection. Coming up on Bankhead Highway on 278 is really bad. Not only do they get in that lane way too early, but they are speeding too. One other note....I dont think the legal turning area is back far enough in most intersections. It may help on traffic if vehicl
  15. Not that I would expect it, or even care, but I hadnt had someone open a door for me until I moved to THIS small town!! There was an extreme lack of manners in the area I lived in. Guys wouldnt think twice about making crude comments...I worked at a trucking company. I currently work in the transportation industry, and have not had any crude comments.
  16. I like it.....especially when Matt Damon talks that way!!
  17. Do you say "Bawston"? Mainers talk more like-- "caw" and "fahm" and such than NY and Mass people do. My brother is really bad.
  18. Consider it done!!! Wow, Queens, one of my childhood dreams was to live in NYC.
  19. Is anyone else on here excited about New England winning today, instead of Atlanta?? Please, dont shoot!!!
  20. control + and control - also change the font size an zoom. Go to View at the top of your screen, then Zoom.
  21. That is funny!!! I've had many 20 minute conversations, that could have been summed up in 3 minutes! But, its all about slowing down and smelling the roses. I will say, family values seem much greater here in general, and all kidding aside, the best thing I ever did, was move my boys here. It seems the country southern folk really know what life is all about!
  22. On the bottom right on your screen should be a magnifying glass with a % next to it. Adjust that.
