I remember being a single parent of 2 young boys. I couldn't get help because I made a whopping $11.00 an hour-which according to the gov't policy meant I made too much money. Hard to pay rent, utilities, insurance, food, and child care on $11.00 per hour. If we raise the wages then the businesses have to financially support that raise-by raising the cost of the products and services they provide. We would be chasing our tails.

Why do these women all the sudden think that they have a right to flash their boobs in public? It's completely ridiculous! As someone that has done a lot of interviews recently I think some of these listed are dumb. I should be able to ask if you are expected or planning to start trying to have children. It directly affects the employer and your time at work. I should and will ask for proof of citizenship or legality before hiring. Due to the nature of my business it would mean automatic firing if I found out posthence. And then everyones time is wasted. I don't ask if you smoke, but tell you it is a non smoking job. I think this made since. The assumption here is that someone made a horrible choice, one time, non-violent. They did their time, and paid the price. They proved they are not that type of person by "behaving" and being a productive member of society for 10 years. If we aren't rehabing folks who have done wrong and turning them around, then we should just shoot them the first time they screw up and be done with it.

Devils advocate: you quite possibly don't know the mom as well as you think. I'm not suggesting that she is abusive physically, but there are a whole host of other ways to abuse a child without ever lifting a finger and making a physical mark. Hey gang! Does anyone have any info on the Paulding County Middle School Basketball program? My son has made the team and has been to 2 practices this week. We gave the coaches our email address on Sunday, but have not received anything. I've heard rumors of a parent meeting (which would be great cause this is my first sport as a mom). I'm sure these coaches are squeezing this into their schedule as much as we are. I'm not trying to stir any pots...just looking for info so we don't miss anything. Thanks!

I'm just picking. She called me Friday morning and offered my kids used of her sleds. We stood around a barrell of fire and shot the breeze watching the kiddos. It was a very neighborly thing to do...we had a fun time.
