  1. We were surprised that in Florida they use title companies. Attorneys must not have a strong lobby down there.
  2. That's why I was asking if it was *possible* to do without an attorney. Buyer does not require a lender as it will be all cash. Using an attorney isn't a problem and it's not that we don't want to pay the cost of it. We just may need this done very quickly due to the health of the buyer. I know Florida allows title companies. We have always used an attorney when we bought or sold property but this is a strictly cash deal and may need to close quickly.
  3. I might add that it would be all cash. If we HAVE to pay an attorney $500 to do this, we're certainly fine with it but if we don't HAVE to, we don't WANT to. Note to Pubby: is this something the neighbor could handle for me?
  4. All details will be worked out prior to agreement, so unless there is something legal that has to be done and has to be done by an attorney, we would like to do this without an attorney. Is it possible? Or do you absolutely, positively HAVE to have an attorney in Georgia?
  5. You DO have a nice boss, don't you? You'd think we were related or something, wouldn't you???
  6. I KNOW you got one present. Glad to know you didn't want to return it. You could, however, return another hug.
  7. According to their profile, they are not commerce members. Maybe LPPT needs to pay them a visit and get them to become commerce members again. And not ALL commerce members have the cards. Anyone who wants to pick up some cards, can do so at the Pcom office. But you'd better do it in the next day or so.
  8. I hope you got him something really special for that.
  9. The shirts I bought me and hubby neither one fit so I have to take both of them back. Other than that, I'm certainly not returning the gift certificate for a week at the beach!
  10. I could be wrong but I don't think Bumble Bee Bakery is a commerce member on here any longer and therefore they wouldn't likely know what this was. Only certain commerce members have the cards. You can certainly drop by the Pcom office at 1033 Merchants Dr and pick up some. Edited to say that Bumble Bee has not been active since August, so they likely aren't aware of this contest.
  11. Merry Christmas to you, too.
  12. Mental health should be a priority. IMO, it should come before new soccer fields, laptops for educators and especially before raises for legislators.
  13. We haven't put up a tree. First year ever. We do have lights on a potted fake palm but that's it. I do have wreathes on the doors and the windows and a decoration on the mailbox and my little gag tree given to me by my former boss. Just not much in the Christmas spirit this year and to be honest, haven't been since 2000, the last Christmas our youngest was still at home. Middle daughter and her family always go to South Carolina for Christmas. Youngest daughter doesn't have a car right now so even though she's close, she can't come to visit. I'll be heading down there in a bit to t
  14. There is SOOOOOOO much about this "tax cut" that people don't understand. First of all, it isn't $1000 a year unless you make $50,000 a year. Secondly, it gives a "tax cut" to those making up to the Social Security cut off which is something like $112,500. So, if you make the maximum your "tax cut" is $2250. If you make $50,000 a year, it's $1000. Thirdly, it is YOUR Social Security tax that is being cut. You're depositing LESS into your Social Security account. Since logic dictates that there is no such thing as a free lunch, especially when you're talking about the govern
  15. Wonder if that is what the gentleman at the bank was talking to the CSR about. I heard the words "fraud" and "police" said.
  16. Based on the number of people I saw at Staples today, I'd say a lot of you are taking this advice.
  17. I sent PMs to about a dozen people. I think two, possibly three, have responded.
  18. It's interesting. Middle daughter/youngest stepdaughter and youngest daughter looked identical when they were about 13 or 14 months old. I have photos of both of them taken about the same age and they look like the same baby! Now that they are grown, they don't look as much alike. Middle daughter/youngest stepdaughter looks a lot like me and youngest daughter looks like her dad (at least I think so). When hubby and I were dating we used to have people tell us all the time how much middle daughter/youngest stepdaughter looks like me. She's not MY kid and yet she looks like me whil
  19. I agree with the mention of real estate agents. While I absolutely love the agent we have been using, to be honest, there is a LOT of what she does that I can do and do myself. Like search for houses on the Internet. I took a real estate course several years ago with the intention of getting my license. Then the housing bubble burst and there was no point in getting a license. I have used the knowledge I gained, so it wasn't a total waste of time or money.
  20. I go to Dr. Richard Gray in Austell but there are a ton of other doctors in the practice, some of whom are more oncologists than hematologists. I tried to Google the info but the site must be down right now. PM me if you want the number because I have it, just not handy.
  21. My pleasure. Good luck to you!! You're welcome! Good luck!
  22. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: We left AT&T cell service for a reason and I really hated to hear they were merging with T-Mobile, which is the carrier we went with.
  23. Josh Grogan singing "Oh Holy Night" Gayla Peevey singing "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" Any really good version of "What Child is This". I particularly like the version by John Denver. The Harry Simeone Chorale signing "The Little Drummer Boy".
