    NEW DINER

It is possible. There are three HHS Varsity Cheerleaders that work there and one of them is my daughter. You have a 33.333333333% chance that it was her!!! All three of those girls are awesome! I'm glad your daughter enjoyed cheer camp. The week after camp, the girls went to their own camp at UWGA. They ended up winning the camp championship and the leadership award (all the squads had to choose the squad that they would most like to be on other than their own. Our girls won! We were sooooooo proud!)

    NEW DINER

I was gonna say that my daughter is a waitress there, but we are not talking about how good the restaurant is anymore. :sigh:
  6. Last we heard, they were running tests on Victor to see what happened. We should know in a few days. I will probably see Ms. Lorraine on the bus today (if she made it to work). I will pass along the message about the limo. I know she and Victor would be thrilled. She is such a sweet lady and Victor is a great driver. They both deserve the recognition. I was just amazed that Ms. Lorraine did this. She walks with a cane and cannot move very fast. Great story!
  7. I sell Tastefully Simple products and we have Watermelon Margarita mixes and Sangria mixes for sell that are DELICIOUS (also Mojito mix. All you do is add alcohol and freeze. They come out slushy. Good for any tropical or summer party!
  8. This is an awesome yet scary story. I ride the bus in the mornings and Victor is my usual driver. He drives the early bus in to Atlanta early and then comes back to Hiram and drives my bus in. The early bus is the one that crashed. I love Victor and I hope he is o.k. As for Ms. Lorraine--I do know her and I plan to give her a big hug when I see her again!
  9. My chihuahua is not a rescue, but he does a ton of tricks! He does high five, shake, turn around, roll over, play dead, etc.
  10. I was more upset about the fact that people who did not need this service were using it. She wanted me to go with her and my gut reaction was that I would be taking food away from people who really need it, and I told her so. I guess she was right. I just didn't want to be taking advantage of anyone and taking away from those in need. Thanks for your answers!
  11. A friend of mine called me last night and told me that there is a place you can go in Hiram and pay $20 and get over $100 worth of food. She said she heard about it at work (in Fulton County). I told her that I thought this was the food bank and it was supposed to be for the needy. She said everyone she knows goes there to get cheap food, even if they are not needy. Am I right? Is this a place were the hardworking people of our county donate food and then these people come and get it cheap? She thinks that the food they have is overstock from places like Trader Joes. Is she right?

    Help!

My hours at work just got cut to 32 hours a week (and minus 20% of my salary). Does anyone need any part time (one or two days a week) help? I am paralegal with over 25 years experience in litigation work. I don't want to leave this job because I love it, but I need to do something to compensate for the loss of income. Thanks for any suggestions you might have!
  13. I would love to be in the drawing! I have wanted to see this show!

  15. I grew up in South Georgia (near Waycross) and back in about 1987, it snowed a few days before Christmas. It only snowed from about Hazelhurst and south and we got a couple of inches! They even got some flurries in Florida that year. I remember looking at the Christmas lights in Waycross with snow on the ground! I thought the world was coming to an end because that was only the 2nd time in my lifetime that snow had actually stayed on the ground down there! The first time was like in 1970 or something. I don't think they have had any amount of accumulation since then either! I lived in ATL
  16. The best gift I ever got was handprints of my then kindergartener with a poem attached. It is framed and hanging in my hallway. I LOVE it! She is now 16 so it is good to think back to when she was nice!! LOL
  17. That was awesome! You can go to Myfoxatlanta.com and watch all of the video! Those guys are so excited. I know my DD got up at the crack of dawn this morning so she could be there! This is something these guys will remember for the rest of their lives!! Yay Hornets!!
  18. I grew up on a farm, and when you get a lot of rain you get a lot of mud. When mud starts to dry out, it sours and it STINKS! That may be what you are smelling. I remember one year in the tobacco patch, there was about a foot of mud. When your feet would sink down and you would pull them up, the smell would hit you like a ton of bricks. This topic brings back a lot of bad memories.....
  19. A friend of mine's car broke down at a 4 way stop (her timing belt broke). She was a woman alone in the car. People passed her honking the horn and yelling. One man rolled down his window and yelled" Lady. Get out of the _____ way!" There was nothing she could do. If he had just gotten out of the car to help push her off the road, she would have been "out of the way". But NOOOOOOO, he only yelled as his fat butt drove by! Why are people like this? I have actually stopped to help a lady push her car out of the road over by the Silver Comet Trail because she ran out of gas and there were
  20. Or is wearing their pants below their buttocks with no underwear (seen walking down Peachtree Street about two weeks ago)
  21. has an Obama/Biden bumper sticker on the back of their car.
  22. I ride the bus every day and the longest commute I have ever had was about 1 1/2 hours bacause of a wreck on I-20. I usually catch the bus at 7:20 and walk into my office by 8:20/8:25. I can drive it faster, but the lack of stress and the lower cost of using the bus causes me to LOVE it! I have made good friends, caught up on my reading list and gotten in MANY extra Z's in the mornings. I absolutely love the bus ride. I have always commuted over an hour to work (20 years) and this is the most stress free I have ever been!
