The damage was to one hangar and the terminal building. Not sure about the hangar, but I don't think the terminal was a total loss. The majority of the initial cost of building the airport was grading and concrete, neither of which was damaged by the storm. I would be willing to bet there was insurance on the structures. I have a buddy from Europe and when you go to his hometown it is customary to drop in and visit everyone. The first thing they do is offer guest a shot of homemade whiskey or a glass of wine. This is regardless of time of day or night. Then there will be cheese, bread and usually some kind of meat and finally a cup of coffee that is more like a shot of espresso. But to answer your question, Europe is where the philosophy of equating hospitality with booze originates.

The roof never was on the hangar that collapsed last week. The hangar that was torn up with airplanes in it was damaged last night. Looks like every airplane on the place got damaged. There were reports last night of a huge fuel spill as well. There are a couple of large above ground aviation fuel tanks, but I haven't heard if these were the cause of the spill.

If you trace the history of this airport back to its beginnings, it is pretty freaky once all the intertwined tragedies are considered. Maybe no does mean no.
