  1. Me too!!! It's become such a rare commodity in this day and time.

Now what kind of fun would that be?????
  3. I apologize for any inconveneinces to my customers I could not take in this week. I had a week long Christmas gig deal in Alpharetta this week and was unable to take in any equipment. But, I am back in town as of all day tomorrow, and for the rest of the month, so please call me if you need any repairs on your equipment- leaf blowers, mowers, log splitters, pressure washers, all small gasoline engines, and generators. I will be back in full swing tomorrow, although I have amassed a bit a of a back log from being gone all this week. Not to worry though- I can still get it done faster than you w
  4. I most certainly will. She's not my sister (but I'm sure she would consider that a compliment to her age) She's my aunt, my dads' youngest sister. She moved in with me about 2 months ago while I was looking for a room mate. Like I mentioned on the ad I posted for her, she's a HARD WORKER and takes her job very seriously. Just imagine how much I enjoy having her living with me!!! I have always kept a clean house, but she makes it literally sparkle!! I have so much work going on right now that it's nice to have someone around keeping things cleaned up while I'm busy getting greasy and messy fro
  5. If it can't be fixed, I can most certainly save your data!! I come across a lot of laptops with screen problems. It is usually a break in one of the many solder joints in the ribbon cable that causes this. Some laptops can be re-soldered fairly easily, but many of them are soldered by robots with pinpoint accuracy that common methods cannot repair. I would just have to look at it and see. It's about a 70/30 shot of success, depending on the laptop. I have repaired music equipment, TV's, and other electronics most of my adult life, but with newer technology comes ever tinier solder joints, and
  6. Not at all. I can't complain. This has been the busiest December I have ever had since being laid off from civil engineering. I'm a blessed man- I have multiple piano gigs in Alpharetta (where the money flows like wine), several computer repairs coming up, and a horde of outdoor equipment all waiting to come in on Friday when I get back in town. December is probably the best month there is to be working 7 days a week, with only 5-6 hours a day left for sleeping! I'll rest after the Holidays, but this year, my kids are finally going to have a Christmas!! I have posted several threads
  7. I do not do the remote thing. I make house calls and sometime have to bring them to my shop if the repairs are too extensive. I'd be glad to help though. 678-315-8794. I won't be available until around this Saturday, due to Christmas gigs I am playing in Alpharetta this week. Last one is tomorrow, and I have a lot of outdoor equipment coming in on Friday. But I do the computer repairs later at night, so it's not a problem. Just call me if you need me. If any other comp repairmen are available before then, by all means call them first. Otherwise, I am still at your service if you need me.
  8. Two VERY satisfied customers in only two days, so far!!
  9. Off course you wait for them. I remember being a stupid 16 yr old and trying to go around and only by the grace of God am I still her to say this. Let me just add this- I had to drive to Alpharetta today for a gig and the next two upcoming days. Most drivers are IDIOTS!!! This is why I almost never leave the county. The guy who got me the gig said, "easy money for only 1.5 hours of playing, huh?"...I replied, given the drive, time it took, and dodging morons for almost 2 hours, I would rather stay home or get paid at least 3 times as much!!"
  10. If your comp is choking to death, give me a call!! Glenn - 678-315-8794 30+ years experience in the field. Call for details.
  11. Not so much stupid as selfish, careless of others, and well....I guess stupid could be a fitting word now that I think about it. I'm a blinker-maniac...it's just a habit to use them ALWAYS. I'll never understand why so many drivers are oblivious as how how important and courteous they are to those on the road around them.
  12. Well, I just finished repairing my second one in three days of taking them in. I need to expand my work table so I can handle at least 3 at a time.
  13. Cool. I also have a day gig the next 3 days in Alpharetta at a lush business park. Tryin' to stay as busy as possible!
  14. This past week I got in two desktops (custom builds) that were not very well built at all!! Nothing but black screens, not even a BIOS screen. Fixed 'em!! Glenn 678-315-8794
  15. For all your outdoor power equipment and small engine repairs, give me a call. I'll be happy to get you fixed up and running again. Mowers, tillers, chainsaws, leaf blowers, generators, pressure washers, etc. Glenn 678-315-8794. Call for details and rates.
  16. 678-315-8794. Glenn...gimme a shot. So far, so good after 7 years (20+ in OTJ training).
  17. I feel good about it. I'll also be expanding services when I get a shop I am looking at, to include heavy steel welding and cutting, and a few other things. Right now I'm just trying to save all the capital I can to get the shop next year.
  18. That's what the phone number is for. I had too many people popping in early on Sundays, midnight, you name it, so I only give my address out to people who call and actually need repair work, then I can explain to them my availability. It weeds out my garden, so to speak. When I get a shop in town next year, there will be an address though...probably around mid February. Let's just say I live one mile from the Kroger on Ridge Road heading towards Hwy 92, just to give people a general location. Between my phone number and email address, no one has ever had a problem so far.
  19. I just wanted to thank all of the pcom members who have been kind enough to bring their equipment to me to be repaired. I am usually starving by December because of slow business, but I have been just as busy the past two weeks as any normal summer season! I owe a lot of that to my regular customers right here on paulding.com. And, I just wanted to take time to post a thank you to you fine folks. I appreciate your business, and I will continue to do my best to give you the best service you'll find anywhere at the best rates you'll find anywhere. I'll keep on going that extra mile for you folks

He sure will be missed. Nick was a BIG help to me when I first started my shop and needed computers for repair jobs, making tickets, invoices, scheduling, and setting up Outlook for my mower email addy. There remains only a very small number of good comp guru's in the county. As I mentioned earlier in either this post or another one, I can hold my own when it comes to computer repair, but I encourage everyone here to check with the better known computer guys before consulting me. After having done so, I would like everyone to know that I am here and would be happy to take in repairs if the oth

I sort of gave up on that, because all you really need is a cheap DVD burner to do this. I got mine at Wally World a few years ago for only like $60, and it's got every input jack you can think of, so you can burn DVD's from almost anything there is. I figure why charge someone for something so simply to do, when all you need is your original source (camcorder or VHS), the appropriate cords to hook it up, and just hit play and off she goes. Now, if you would like me to help you pick one out and show you how to work it, I would be happy to- no charge. It's really not complicated at all, and the
  22. Thank you. I am currently dealing with Phil right now. Nice guy!! Thanks for the referral. Poor feller..his engine needs a new camshaft (kind of a big job). So, I'm giving him a nice push mower and am going to just rebuild the engine on his rider and sell it for what I can. It's gonna take about $300 to fix it, and I know he doesn't want to drop that kind of money into it. So, we worked out a plan that we can both live with, and benefit from.

No?? How did you come to that conclusion? I just got in 2 computers just this Saturday to repair. I assume you were referring to it being a laptop? They are a pain sometimes, but I've fix a lot of them over the years, and even more lately. I can fix the power jacks (a common problem) and the ribbon cables to the monitors, change out HD's, etc. and a LOT of virus removal....seems to be a big problem with computers these days, without having to wipe everything out. I also have everything necessary to back up your documents too.
