  1. I do watch"FLASH" Forward, but I haven't heard of the other show. My vcr's won't cooperate for recording so I found that I can watch the entire episode online. I missed the 1st 5 minutes of the 2nd show, and I watched the entire show on my computer over the weekend. Very happy.
  2. ah, yes you are correct. I was thinking of reflected light versus transmitted light. On your monitor / computer screen / TV, white is all the colors mixed together and visually transmitted. On reflected light as in a painting, white is the absence of tint or color........
  3. true, but editing software won't remove black if it is not there to begin with. That is also like saying that someone didn't use white, they only mixed up the whole spectrum, so it only looks white. Yes, it is a good painting. I wonder if the canvas black to begin with? Otherwise, why would the artist paint the whole background with a non-black? but then again, art is up to interpretation by the viewers.
  4. i agree........ i take it through photoshop or paint and can remove alot of black color.
  5. Fried chicken tenders, creamed potatoes, and carrots. It was very tasty.
  6. Not an officer, but someone in their vehicle was tailgating going up 61. I was a few cars behind. The lead car dodged something that had fallen off of a vehicle in the road and the tailgater jerked into the other lane and narrowly missed an oncoming car. Cops or otherwise, I can't stand tailgaters. They don't have time to make appropriate decisions. Some folks trust their brakes way too much. Tailgating is just stupid.
  7. I know Bakers Bridge is open and it appears that the Merchant Drive is also open (The signs were down this morning). I guess they are moving in that direction. Denton is still closed and will be closed for a while.
  8. I can see the patch work and repaving of one lane going towards the bridge on the RR side. If they had to work directly on the bridge, you can't tell.
  9. That's the point. There are a lot of idiots of the road. Add in the lost folks who are just trying to find their way around, the ones that drive too fast for conditions (like the motorcycle doing 80 on my road heading towards a closed bridge), the driver on the cell phone or quieting their cranky kids, or the rubber-necker. Those are the ones needing the flashing lights and more signage. The ones who are careless tie up the emergency workers and devastate their loved ones. As for the ones taking and moving signs out of their way, THEY SHOULD BE LOCKED UP!
  10. I agree --Do not cross the barricades! At the same time, I heard about a teen on in Due West area didn't see a barricade in time (it was a dirt barricade) and went right through. Lucky he wasn't hurt but he said he didn't see it in the dark. I agree that some of them need to be more noticeable. Especailly the very dangerous ones. Flashing lights and more signage.
  11. I agree with critter. I can't bring myself to complain about the rain after my well run dry so many times after a drought. You got what you prayed for and now to pray for the opposite. Just can't do it. Sorry.
  12. Thank you. That's what they said. The website hasn't been updated yet.
  13. They filed chapter 11 bankruptcy back in june....... http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124489639859012503.html
  14. recording people working out is not the problem, it is the locker / shower room................
  15. I "heard" that PCHS has water damage and that they were pulling up carpet. I haven't been there since 1984, but I don't remember them having carpet, but things change.
  16. Not on the PBOE yet. eta: With all of the damaged roads, they may be closed for at least the end of the week. Looking at some pictures it is scary. I want them back at school ( I think my son may suffer withdrawal symptoms soon) but I want them to be able to arrive safely and not go halfway around the county to get there. I know AMS is accessible, but I am not sure about SPHS. I don't even know if they suffered water damage.
  17. He was one of my heroes.
  18. The road in front of the bridge is torn up and I have "heard" that the bridge itself may be damaged. Not sure when the road will be opened.
  19. My kid called and told me her friend's momma said it was closed. The website isn't updated yet. But if PCom says it is closed, then closed it is. Thank you.
  20. I opened a door to an office this a.m. and immediately was knocked over by the smell. I'm allergic to mold and mildew and even though I only stayed in long enough to try to try and get some air circulating, I am still having trouble breathing normally. Just a quick reminder, if you have any type of allergies like this, be on alert. I got to thinking, there are also alot of displaced critters, snakes, mice, etc. that are now on the move. Be aware. Especially for your exploring kids. There is no seeing what is lying beneath that water. Be careful folks!
  21. Someone's boat dock on the road Carrington Subdivision off Bakers Bridge Rd -----
  22. Bakers Bridge Road --- the bridge is currently out.
  23. Didn't get a close-up look, but it appears that there is now a gap between the road and the bridge the Ridge Road side. They still had it blocked off. May be a while before repairs are finished. Now we have to take the long way round to get to D'ville. eta: We walked up to it and the road is actually torn up in front of the bridge. Half of the road was lifted up and moved on top of the other side. You can see the original road underneath. Hubby says it looks like the area a red car was stranded earlier. Not sure how long they were stuck there.
