I don't know the rules, but sometimes parents wait on the porch, in the house, in the car or at the stop. Kids are quick. Even if someone was right there, it may not have prevented this tragedy. I know I would be devastated. My heart goes out the ALL involved.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know. I will arm my girls with this info. They like to take pictures anyway and as long as they can be safe, well we will see. Thanks again. Some things just never occur to me about taping the offenders.

What can we do as non-police officers do when we witness one happen. My daughter has had 3 instances this year (that I know about) where a vehicle ran the sign, one time I saw it from a distance and the driver saved her. I work and can't be there, but her older sister is. If the driver turns in a license plate, can anything really be done? It's one person's word against another. It just sends tingles through me knowing....... I doubt the SO would sit and watch, and who would run it seeing an officer there anyway. I guess I am just venting.

My son, who attends SPHS is asleep now. I don't think he has had this man as a teacher, but he may have known him. My condolences to the family.

Just spoke with a GSP who did not work the accident, but did confirm that it was a motorcycle vs. truck and their was a fatatlity.

45 min. late to work, couldn't see a thing. Looked like it was just past the bridge. Vernoy Aiken was backed up, but I didn't see any accidents.

That's what I would recommend. My last experience was way different than my first. I went with a friend and she plead not guilty and got a 2nd court date where she showed her information and got half her ticket dropped. My first experience, I was able to show my info (on no tag -- long story) and she dropped it ( It was so complicated, I think she was just wanting to shut me up ) Be honest, I bet they will drop it since you have got a tag now. P.S. Be very thankful it was not a "No insurance" issue. No mercy. Without insurance, both of the above cases would not have be

I clicked on "no" because I think he had that right to stand for his political beliefs. Now if he was just being a kid to a- get attention, b- to get out of class, c- to be disruptive or cause a scene, or d- the list goes on -- that would be a completely different matter and would be handled differently. The only problem is, sometimes its hard to tell the difference.

God Bless You! Thank you. That fixed it!

I only get a small opportunity to scan Paulding.com in spurts so I could have missed something easily. When I click on a post now, I now have to click below the post to read comments. I have seen this before in other forums (that was a while ago.) Just curious why? Thanks in advance for the info.

I am sorry for your loss. It still hurts after 8 years. -
Down $375. Looked at the history, it's been going up and down for awhile.

I don't know. Even if they did flash their badges and identified themselves, in this day and age, I am not sure I would have believed them. It is scary. Just a real bad case of wrong place, wrong time. I guess I am trying to figure out why they went after him at all if he was not the one they were following.

Wow, someone who actually cares about what she is going through. That, in itself, makes what she is doing worth the task. "And I take one more look at my cavalry and it gives me the strength to go on" One of my mom's favorite songs.

Update on WSB This is so sad. You should be safe in your own home. Speeding drivers can kill.

Yeah, I hadn't realized how spoiled I have become with large aisles. Sent me back to the days my Dad took me to Big Apple in Powder Springs. Oh well, I've been twice for just a few items and the wait to pay wasn't as bad as I thought after seeing the lines. The people were nice and they even had a few items I have to go to Walmart to find. I am sorry you had such an experience, but I bet it will improve once the newness wears off. -
Hope this helps.

I actually grew up on tap water from the city in Hiram and liked it. When we moved to an area with a well, it tasted so different. I never got used to the taste. The last two places I have worked had very old pipes which made me paranoid. Now I drink either bottled water or Brita filtered water.

Sorry for your loss. -
I know when I entered 1st grade at Hiram, I already had an expected reputation that I didn't live up to, thankfully. My siblings were older, but they were definitely remembered. I took my kids to open house and the younger one had the same teachers as the older one. She seemed glad to have another one in her class, but I quickly told her she was looking at Night and Day and shouldn't have the same expectations other than good behavior. Funny though, the younger one seems to be enjoying those classes much more than her older sister.
