  1. Carol, I switched from Splenda to Agave nectar in my coffee. Good stuff. Try it.
  2. I was diagnosed with diabetes in January 2006 at age 59. I started to pay attention when I was told how it could affect my body and kill me. I don't know whether your hubby has had that discussion with his doctor yet but that might change his habits. He has to change, not you. You'll find a lot of valuable information here: http://www.diabetes.org/ If it would help your husband to talk to another guy who has diabetes, I would be willing to talk to him.
  3. Yes, very true. A certain poster on here has been whining about the evil rich for years and loves to post the same graphs and pie charts on a daily basis..
  4. And the government could help that ladder by getting their stinking hands off it.
  5. Our "poor" would be considered rich by the standards of many third world countries.
  6. And the government should provide an environment that nourishes and promotes success. It should NOT be in the business of redistributing wealth as TP implies. When it comes to votes, my opinion is that only those who have skin in the game and are paying their way should vote. If you do not pay a positive amount in federal taxes, you should be exempt from voting. Watch the 47% who don't pay anything change.
  7. I watch my wallet very carefully and ensure I keep the pillagers out of it. However, I cannot keep the pillaging hands of government out of it when they are acting as agents of the 47% who do not help to carry the tax load and who expect government handouts. I am talking about the freeloaders and not those who need a short term helping hand. Those who vote for their own self interest, voting in politicians who promise them handouts are the ones who are not very bright. They will slowly destroy this country and all the hard working people who pay the taxes.
  8. Well said. Those who covet the belongings and assets of others are spending time that they should invest in time spent producing wealth for themselves. To complain about others is unhealthy and may be a sign of terminal lazitis.
  9. I also say how dare anyone lust after the wealth and success of another. And, again, for the government to steal through taxation the assets of citizens only to give those assets to someone else who is not as successful for whatever reason is the lowest kind of theft.
  10. Still working and saving to grow my piece.
  11. Well said, Mark< but, TP won't change. He's stuck in the mire of his own misery.
  12. Being positive about yourself is critical to your personal success. Those who are optimistic and positive avoid negativism and pessimists because they affect the optimist's ability to perform his or her best. And, pessimists always deliver bad news. They complain and blame others but do nothing to improve themselves. It's a shame really...all their skills are wasted.
  13. Eym, I agree 100%. You should leverage your skills to the nest of your ability and where your skills have shortfalls, seek education to improve them. Actually, being a public speaker or writing a book about how to avoid failure would be a good start for TP.
  14. Some people fail to recognize that each of us is responsible for ourselves. Some do better than others. That's the way God made us. Those who have come up short due to their own failures or decisions should not expect government to take from the "rich" and give to them. This is the worst form of theft there is. TP persists in his jealous rants against those who have more than he does. If you want something, get a job and work for it.
  15. It is apparent that pcom is a vehicle that TP uses to attract attention to himself.
  16. My wife paid 3500 about 8-9 years ago. She wears reading glasses only when reading.
  17. I also have moral principals. And, re moving, yes, if you would like to move to Alabama, go ahead.
  18. Thank you both. Let's hope for nice weather.
  19. Yes, I will probably bring my 67 Coronet:
  20. Yes, up and down Main Street. The police block it off around 3pm and only let the cruisin' cars in. I plan to be there.
  21. I am not aware of a car show in Dallas this Saturday. However, there will be a cruise in for old cars in downtown Dallas this Saturday. It usually runs 4pm to dusk.
  22. Same here but all the junk fees sure add up.
  23. I have always found the Hardy dealerships to be pleasant and excellent folks with whom to do business. I am sorry for your loss. My guess is that the poster who complained may have simply been a difficult customer.
