Thanks for that.

I believe that the government plan will cost more and deliver less than I pay for today. And, I think that you are in the minority. Most seem pretty satisfied with their current healthcare plans.
-
And where would the government come up with the money? Our premiums and our taxes! And where would they get the money to pay for those who "cannot afford" healthcare? Our taxes! And, if you have ever dealt with the federal government (SSA, for example), you know that there is an incredible amount of inefficient overhead built in. If we want our system to be better, the last thing we need is to involve the government.
-
Yes. I have kaiser. Very satisfied. I DO NOT support Obamacare. It will cost me more and not be as effective. The absolute worse fix for healthcare is to get the most inefficient and ineffective organization involved - the Federal government.
-
Carol, have not forgotten and will PM you - nothing this weekend as we are going over to our neighbors for dinner tomorrow.
-
I do as well and most people I know like our current system. Surepip says we're in the "minority", Carol but I think he's dead wrong.
-
My thought exactly. I'd take my business elsewhere. And, it sure as heck would not be to the government's plan. Ever complain about the government and the way it runs things? Imagine Obamacare - what a disaster.

We booked this condo for a three day weekend in August: http://www.vrbo.com/336612 They have other weekends in August available. Right on the gulf!! Costs: The charge per night in August is $150 per night and twelve and a half percent tax, which would be $56.25 and a clean up fee of $75 for a total of $581.25.

I'm with Kaiser and have been completely satisfied with their services since I joined in 1999. Maybe if you're not satisfied, you should consider switching if you have an option.

...some people pass in a curve at a high rate of speed and try to kill others. Happened to my son in 2004...

Agree - don't get me started...

This is unfortunate but I have no sympathy for careless drivers who put themselves and others at risk - esp. on the DBR freeway.

No interest. I remember watching Charles and Diana and look what happened.

I recommend that he look at the Ford Fiesta if he wants good mileage. I am averaging 35 mpg around town in my Fiesta hatchback. It's a blast to drive, handles well and offers an automatic or a 5-speed manual. It also looks better than any of its Asian competition. Of course, if you're determined to buy a Japanese car, I can't change that.

Have you looked at the new Passat? They have eliminated some of the features and have dropped the price dramatically this year. I think VW makes a really nice car.

Computer question for my tech savvy friends

A good cleanup tool is Advanced System Care. Here is a link to the free version: http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html -
Nick, congratulations.

Actually, my main concern about ooma is their financial viability. And, if money is tight, will they then charge like everyone else. I hear you re call quality. The big difference with ooma is you buy and own the interface telo box. If it breaks after the warranty period, you buy another telo. The others charge nothing for the box and I assume that if their box breaks, you request a replacement. But, you pay monthly for service. You're getting a heck of a deal because I pay $111 for cable plus high speed internet and no phone. Are you on a promo plan? When it expires what's your price

I also considered ATT basic phone line with no long distance service. I have very reliable internet service so I don't mind taking a chance on VOIP.
-
That's what I intend to do. Thanks for the information. I had read that you can get your alarm to work with VOIP with some additional hardware. But, it won't work if your internet connection is down so I decided to go with wireless for the alarm. Hopefully, I made the right decision.
-
Those who want more should earn it through hard work rather than being envious of the success of others and coveting their belongings. See my signature for guidance.
-
Thanks for the recommendation. I assume ATT disconnected your landline at the box on your house. I have comcast internet so all ATT has to do is disconnect me and free my number up for transfer. I have heard horror stories about their DSL and don't want anything to do with it.
-
I converted my alarm system to wireless last week. Thanks for all the information everyone. I will be making a decision this coming week and will give AT&T the boot by the end of May.
-
Thank you both. I've looked at Comcast but all I need is the most basic phone service available. I'll check out Ooma again but it has up front costs that are significantly higher than their competition.. I did check Vonage and they are much less than Comcast. I am also looking at Viatalk.
-
I am looking into this. I want to reduce my monthly phone expense. I'm not ready to go strictly cell phone yet. I want to use my existing phones and wiring in my house. If you have experience using a VOIP service provider, who did you choose and why? I'd like good and bad stories. Thanks in advance.
