  1. YUP!!! even my physician told me that. COld meds, etc will keep longer than expiration dates and the worst they can really do is NOT WORK AT ALL.(not antibiotics though...toss those!!) I have purchased some expired products from "the warehouse place" and not had any issues plus it is SIGNED that the expired products are less than than the to date ones. Their signs arent the best though and may have fallen down or something. Some folks are really paranoid about these things and others arent so its up to you to make the decision whether or not you want to buy them. My son wont TOUCH a milk
  2. told him i would like to just stroll down the river area but he kinda grunted at me..ha. You got to understand..ANY walking hurts...he has to all day at work but when not working he pretty well stays immobile as much as possible. He is getting a cortisone shot before we go so that will help some but he would prefer drive thru or ride on stuff really if we are gonna leave the campground area. As long as i am not at home for a little while i am good..i would recline the seats and sleep in truck or sting up my hammock if i have to..ha.
  3. yup..this is my time frame..all of it. I didnt do "fads" till almost high school age myself though. I was the oddball female in flannel shirts and cowboy boots at MARIETTA schools. Mother hated it that i dressed "like a cowperson" but it was comfortable and i wasnt there to join in a beauty pageant!
  4. thanks for the ideas guys..knew i could count on pcommers....anyone else?
  5. Working with two burner camp stove and charcoal grill/camp pit. GIve me some menus for complete meals (including breakfast) cause its been YEARS since ive gone this primitive and i have forgotten everything we used to do. (there is a microwave in this tiny cabin and fridge but that is all..have to bring own coffee maker even) thank you in advance..i can cook steaks and micro potatoes easy but would rather do other stuff if i can. Just for two people.
  6. we printed up coupons for all of those things but i doubt we will be able to afford....little bit pricey..like i said, we is BROKE but trying to get away anyhow and not let being broke keep us from our anniversary trip....it really LIMITS what you can do when hubby cant walk for long periods though cause all the parks and falls are out.
  7. OMG!!!! You would be surprised how you can use those lines in everyday life....my old man quotes that song and the superman song all the time!!! (kinda our thing...songs and movie quotes that fit the situation..ha)
  8. Anniversary trip...23 years. Hubby loves to gem mine and i like to hike (which he can no longer do) SO....we picked this place cause it has an abundance of activites we can do both together and separate. Anyone know anything close by this area that is CHEAP to do as well? Havent been since he set up our tenth anniversary all by himself with merriott and riverboat dinner and aquarium back when it first opened so have no idea what is up there and what we can afford to do. We are staying in a much more primitive place than he is accustomed to due to finances so if i could come up with inexpe
  9. LGM!!!! Your mom is a chef as well ya goof!! ha (she is probably scared of being confined to my tiny kitchen with ME!!)
  10. okay, so is this 61 going towards cartersville or the other one? im still lost
  11. my hubby has worekd for the marietta city housing projects forever and a day so he is accustomed to that sort of thing..ill be sure he goes with and my baby bang bang goes everywhere i do anyhow..ha. I thought i remembered someone saying it wasnt pleasant anymore but i can just look at the falls and enjoy and not even notice the rest. (of course im apt. to start picking junk up and getting rid of it as well..i hate when folks litter all over nature!!!)
  12. It used to be ELRODS garden center..just a bit away from the tatto parlor....i think they are making a putt putt place too but not sure...looks like it from the road
  13. is there one at the park at white oak as well? ive been here 20 yrs and didnt know about this at all till recently. LGM has mentioned several times going to a waterfall but never got directions from her
  14. So apparantly there is a small waterfall somewhere out here in paulding? Can someone direct me to it for possible picnicking one day next week? After hiking up seven you would think i would be sick of them but im not..ha.
  15. never admit that someone on here hurt your feelings or upset you.
  16. They are BOTH awesome and limitied time too so they will quit making them i am sure. kinda like makeup...find perfect shade and they discontinue it. I found it at publix and also at ingles but you kinda have to hunt and it sells out quick. I wasnt gonna get it cause its "light" yogurt and the whole point of my eating it is it helps my digestion and i need the calories but now i am hooked..ha. Cantalope is better than the watermelon but both are very good so yall try it!
  17. To the sixteen year old about to get married: "DONT DO IT!! GO TO COLLEGE INSTEAD. EVERYTHING DOESNT WORK OUT LIKE IT DOES IN NOVELS!" Oh and the twelve year old with chicken legs and knobby knees, "SORRY< BUT YOU DONT OUTGROW THOSE LEGS>>THEY WILL BE WITH YOU FOREVER." (ha)
  18. me either...notta...her left or our left cause i tried both and blew it up too.
  19. supposed to rain all last week off and on in mountains and we got a little damp just once....not holding my breath
  20. 3rd grade...just very curious and pulled fire alarm...was only person in hall but it was close to office so got caught and in big trouble cause the fifth graders were eating lunch and had to stop, etc. the whole school vacated of course....then i had to stay after and mother had to come in and talk with principal...not paddling cause he was my step dad's nephew
  21. nothing else like it...been there...graduation is hot this time of year but well worth it watching them. Mine lost about 15 pounds during boot camp so i was both surprised and soooo proud!
  22. Im talking about local creeks and such...not actual places that will see ya a bucket of dirt to sift (although in a pinch that will work) Hubby has revived he enjoyment for making jewelry recently (YA FOR ME!!! I also helped by getting him a rock tumbler for fathers day, but i get to keep the jewelry so i am thrilled) we went to Tellus on sunday (first DAY DATE in a very long time) and he had a blast of course and could have stood over the gem troughs for hours had i not gotten tired. Where can we take out pans out and just take a picnic and play in the creek for a while? Used to have buddi
  23. rat snake..doesnt matter now since dead i suppose but now ya know to just let it be and itll tend to your rodent buddies that ya dont want coming in when it gets cool outside. On my hike we saw several different snakes but mostly king snakes in the woods and not real sure what they were in the water cause they didnt sit still long enough for me to see. Bill just paddled fasther, ha but i did try to stop my tube and get a better look. They only bother me if they appear to be aggravated or in the middle of a hunt.
