  1. Just heard this on the scanner. I'll have to get as much as I can in one post because I can't respond to myself.

I think they said it was between two 4-wheelers. One victim is laying on the road and has blood coming out of his ears. He is breathing but unconscious. They have asked that life flight be enroute. The accident is between a car and a 4-wheeler. It is on Mt. Moriah Road between Highway 61 and Vinson. Landing zone will be Burnt Hickory ballfield. Batallion 1 and Engine 1 were just notified of the landing zone.

10-97 (welfare check) at 2595 Mt. Moriah Road. All SO units going there have been diverted to the accident site. One officer is now staged there. Rescue 8 and Clark's are staged.

Emory Flight is requesting coordinates. They are in the air. Coordinates were given. Emory Flight just asked if they were landing in a remote area from the accident. Yes, they are. PC just asked Emory Flight to go to Channel 1. Emory Flight is overhead. EF is on the ground. There appears to be problems with transmissions. Some are garbled. Total silence on scanner. Now I can hear dispatch but it's hard to hear the officers' response.

It's getting time for the nightly bedtime routine. I've got to sign off. If anyone gets anymore infor on this accident. Please post.

  2. I know several people who have used CCCS and it helped them get out of debt, BUT it reflected negatively on their credit report. Creditors do look upon credit counseling as derogatory. It's not the same as bankruptcy but almost as bad.

My sister-in-law is using a company that has worked out some type of agreement with her creditors. She has been using them for two years and it has worked great! She has one more year to go and she will have all her charge cards paid off. Believe it or not, she found them on the internet. Her credit report shows that she has had some late payments but now shows that everything is being paid on time, as agreed.

  3. My oldest daughter was sexually molested. She recently tried to slit her wrists. Luckily, she did not do any major damage. She does have emotional problems stemming from the horrible things that happened to her. Sometimes she is not in her right mind. She knows she has a problem and actually wanted to be taken to the hospital. We took her to Paulding and they were wonderful. She ended up at Northwest Regional in Rome and they referred her to a wonderful facility for people without insurance. The doctor there is VERY good and I pray that she will be able to help my daughter.

People have to want to be helped before they can be helped. I've tried to talk to my daughter about getting counseling but she didn't have any insurance and no one would see her. Now we've found a place for her.

I know what an attempted suicide can do. . .it is VERY scary. I hope and pray that the person who tried to burn themselves is able to get the help they need and they can begin to heal.

It will be a long, hard road for my daughter to travel in order to overcome her problems. But I know that with love and compassion and understanding she can do it.

  4. QTEE:

It wasn't actually at the intersection of Asbury Woods and Ridge. It was closer to the new subdivison right before Asbury Woods if you're coming from Highway 92.

My co-worker said it was a dark color. She really isn't sure exactly what color. She just said it looked really bad and want to know if I'd heard anything on the scanner about injuries.

It's weird that I had my scanner on and heard about the fire off of Pine Valley and the accident at Brownsville & 92 but not the accident on Ridge Road. They were all going on about the same time.

  5. My co-worker asked me today if I'd heard anything about an accident on Ridge Road near Asbury Woods that happened yesterday around 6:00 p.m. She said a big SUV was involved and had extensive damage.

I didn't hear anything on the scanner, but I did hear a lot of sirens around that time.

If anybody has any info, please share! We'd like to know if everyone is ok.

    Thanks!!

  6. I live in Poole Bridge Park which is off Ridge Road on the other side of the elementary school. We have never locked our vehicles but now we do. They've been gone through 3 times. Nothing has been taken but it is still unsettling when it happens right under your bedroom window with a chocolate lab sleeping right under that window!! We also have motion-activated flood lights on each side of our garage!!

We figured it was kids. There are several in our neighboorhood that appear to be not well-supervised. They also rummaged in our neighbor's truck.

It's probably teenagers since it seems to be happening in other subdivisions close by. Whoever it is, is good at this because they are extremely quiet. I am a very light sleeper and am usually awakened by the least little noise.

  7. Hiram Mike:

I am sorry to hear about your nephew's motorcycle accident. We ride and I know how those big trucks and a lot of other vehicles are. They show no respect whatsoever for motorcycle riders.

I'm glad that he will recover. As bad as it is, it could have been worse.

I'll keep him in my prayers.

  8. No parent is perfect just as no child is perfect. We all make mistakes!!! I can remember being 14 and knowing I was now supposed to do stuff that might cause me to get hurt. But. . .at that age you are invincible. You don't think anything bad will ever happen to you.

This accident should not be looked upon as a reflection of bad parenting or a bad child. She is a 14-year-old girl who was just trying to have fun and an accident caused her to be hurt.

She will be in my prayers along with her family and VIMH.
