  1. I think it would depend on where you live in relation to where Clark's is coming from. I've had a scanner since 2000 and, more times that I can count, have heard the ambulance personnel ask where a particular residence was and then when they get in the area, they can't find it. I know this is because they are unfamiliar with the area. I think they should make themselves more familiar with the areas they cover.

With that said, I still think they do a great job. I haven't had to be transported but I know people who have and they've all been pleased.

  2. I live off Poole Bridge Road. My husband and I were outside and heard what sounded like a gun shot. A few minutes later, there was another one. After a few more minutes, there was one more. I haven't heard any more.

Does anyone else live in the area and, did you hear anything? Anybody know for sure if it was gun shots?

  3. When my kids were little, we lived in Haralson County. The kids stayed with a babysitter after school. My 5-year-old went to sleep on the bus, and her sister didn't bother to wake her up. She just got off the bus and left her. The babysitter called the school and they figured out what happened and brought her back. The bus driver had already took the bus home and parked it!! My babysitter was terrified!! I would have been too, but the situation was rectified and I knew nothing about it until I picked them up after work! I gave my oldest a good talking to, and it never happened again.

  4. I just found out a few minutes ago that I actually know the lady who was shot. Some very good friends of mine live in her subdivision and their sons play together. I had met her several times at my friends' house.

I talked to one of my friends and he advised that Katie is going to be ok. She is at Grady.

I was shocked to discover that this was someone I know. I don't know the man who shot her, but I do know that he caused her a lot of problems.

I am just thankful that she is going to be ok. It could have been a lot worse than it was. And at least her sons weren't home.

Please keep this family in your prayers.

  5. I was in Rome today and didn't have a clue anything was going on until I started to the store (Saverite) about 6:00. The traffic was turned around right before the entrance to Sweetwater Landing. I had to go backroads and come up Brownsville Road. I saw that there had been an accident, so I thought that was why. The cashier asked me which way I came from and wondered if the road was still blocked. I asked what happened and she said it was a hostage situation in Sweetwater Landing. The lady behind me in line said a man had killed his ex-wife.

I came home and got on PC.com and read the posts. I'm still not quite sure what the outcome was. Did the man kill his wife and did they catch him?

  6. I am so sorry to hear about your dog. Accidednts happen but, in my opinion, any one who could hit a dog TWICE is not much of a human being. To me, animals are like children. They need to be loved, watched over and protected. There is no excuse for hurting an animal!!

I have a 14-week-old chocolate lab puppy and I love him so much!! He brings such joy to me and my husband. Our kids are all out of the house and he is just like having another child. I can't imagine anything happening to him.

I know there's nothing anyone can say to make it better. Just know that you are in my heart and prayers. I would definitely call the florist and raise H_ _ _. The person who was driving needs to be made aware of how much hurt they have caused.

  7. A friend of mine had a problem with her water bill going up. She called the water department and they told her the same thing about reading the meter and they would correct it if it was wrong. She tried to read the meter but could not because there was about six inches of hard-packed dirt in the opening and it was obvious that it had not been disturbed in only God know how long. She didn't call them back because she wanted to see what would happen the next mont. She got a much lower bill. She checked the meter again. The dirt had not been disturbed. So her meter is not even being read.

Great water department employees we have. There's not telling how long it's been since her meter was really read. She called and advised what had happened. They told her it was impossible that the meter had gone unread. OK!!

So she's left it alone, still gets low bills, and the meter is still packed with dirt.

  8. I think that if parents don't want their kids in a certain teacher's class, there has to be a reason. All teachers should be equally qualified and treat all students equally. If enough parent's object to a teacher, the school board needs to seriously look into it. Some people are not fit to teach even though they have a degree.

It seems like there are more and more problems with Paulding County schools. I'm glad both my girls have graduated.
