  1. At our rental house, the water co used to "average or guestimate" the water meter because about every 4-6 months it would be about $70 to $80 but, the regular monthly would be about $30. I'd call and ask what the problem was and they had no clue, said that was the water usage and I tried to explain to them that nothing had changed from month to month water usage but, I just chalked it up to someone being lazy and NOT reading the meter and when it WAS read, it caught up the actual usage and not the guestimated (under) usage.
  2. You know, he realy didn't suffer enough, I have NO sympathy for this dude!!!
  3. We buy the 3 lb bags from Sams and they are pretty good!! They used to be something like $25 but, now they are at least $30. But, the shrimp is good and I don't recall it shrinking very much!! I need to get some more on our next Sam's run!! Of course, they are frozen but, they are still good.
  4. THEY "ALL" NEED TO BE SENT BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM!!!!
  5. We get this man named "James" (oriental or Indian, maybe, just a wild guess) anywho, he calls and he's trying to sell me some type of pharmaceuticals, he talks over me and he won't listen to a word I'm saying, I have told him to quit calling, but he still calls!!! How can we stop these calls?? They call from different #'s and it's the same voice, "James" sometimes he calls himself something different but, it's still the same voice.
  6. Yeah, we have some weirdo neighbors, too!!
  7. i'd be happy if it were just the political calls but, we get calls from a credit card company that has spoofed an elderly mans phone #, they call from 1-3 times per day.
  8. The first time I saw this on the news, they did NOT say a word about the children being accidently locked in the car. They said the people who found the children locked in the car, busted the windows out and got them out and then the Mother came out. Then she drove away. NO one called 911. NO ONE SAID A WORD ABOUT HER ACCIDENTLY LOCKING THE CHILDREN IN THE CAR, at that time. The next day, is when I heard about the story being changed. Still, you shouldn't be so careless as to lock your children in the car. Granted, I have locked my keys inside my car many times but, I have NEVER locked my kid
  9. A friend and I was on our way to one of Edgar Winter & Johnny Winters concert at The Omni, in Atlanta, don't remember the exact year. We saw one of my friends, friend walking. She wanted to stop and give him a ride, so she did, he tried to steal my purse when she stopped to let him out, he didn't get it, though. But, we got all of the way to the Omni, we parked walked up to the building and I was still sooo upset and shaken, that we didn't go in. We hadn't purchased the tickets yet, thank goodness. But, I was thinking that Johnny Winters and his brother Edgar Winters was heavy metal kind
  10. Helping Hands doesn't help with the Dr visit charges or lab charges. There is Rapha Clinic in Temple however, it does take about 2 months to get an appointment and not sure about the Luke's Place in Mableton. There is Sweetwatwer Valley Camp in Austell, as well. I really know nothing about these places except for the fact that they are on Helping Hands Resource Sheets. If you need any of the phone #'s & addresses, I can get that info for you.
  11. Another one today (not exactly sure where it happened, though) with 4 children, one was a newborn. Soooo sad!! http://www.wsbtv.com/videos/news/woman-arrested-after-allegedly-leaving-her-4-kids/vCjRS6/
  12. No, I'm sure he charges something, I just don't know how much. We don't eat blue berries so, we've never stopped to pick any. It's a u-pick 'em, kinda place.
  13. Thank God someone saw them and got them out of the car but, THEY DID NOT CALL THE POLICE........................... What the heck is wrong with people??? They should ahve called 911 and the mother who was getting a haircut, should have been arrested and the children needs to be placed with Family who would take care of the children since she thought a hair cut was more important!! http://www.11alive.com/story/news/nation/2014/07/15/toddlers-left-in-car-rescued/12661425/ Here is another one from yesterday, but this one is local. Clayton Co. man had a court hearing and thought he coul
  14. I have been looking for some good knives and I'm going to check into this brand. Wooo Hooo, just hope I don't cut myself, though!!
  15. We just passed the blueberry patch just South of Highpoint Rd, on Hwy 61. The field is on the right just past some power lines. You'll miss it if you're not paying attention. Happy Blueberry picking!!!! eta: It's just before the Douglas County/Carroll County line. Past Led better Rd and Twin Lake(s?) Rd.
  16. To me, this is just another thing "JUST" to get money. I refuse to "donate" TO ANYONE this way!!!! You never know if it's legit or not and I don't have money to throw away!!
  17. 19. We were in Hiram today, between 12 and 1 and we looked for the newspaper people and none were to be found!! Maybe I just missed them but, we looked in front of Home Depot, Sams and even behind Home Depot. We didn't see anyone, selling papers!! Dangit, I wanted 2 more papers.
  20. I do NOT trust ANY ATM machines, never, will I use one, as long as there are those swipe pads in the grocery/department stores and I can get cash that way or I will just go to the bank and cash a check. But, I will NOT use an atm, ever again!! If we're out of town and need cash, we'd go to a store and make a purchase and ger cash back. ATM's are too dangerous and risky, now-a-days.
  21. I get nothing out of "The Patch"!!! Sometimes, it doesn't tell the whole story, leaves out key information and just downright sloppy reporting, most of the time. Heck, when you click on the local patch link, over half of the stories are from a different area. Also. when you try to look at the arrest records (when they would post them), you couldn't even read it. The writing was sooo small and no way to enlarge the info. It iust issn't worth my time. eta: Why do they need a business license, just to sell newspapers?? I mean, seriously??????
  22. I know that you like reading up on David McDade and thought you might be interested in this case. DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. -- The Georgia Supreme Court on Friday threw out the 2006 child molestation convictions of a Douglas County man who sexually abused his young stepdaughter. It was a 7-0 vote. And the reason? The court said the District Attorney was personally involved in getting the man convicted, which was a professional and ethical conflict. The D.A.'s office not only prosecuted the man, but the D.A. himself took the stand and testified against the man at his trial. http://www.1
