  1. Five chickens. Where to process them?
  2. Let's say you have a bunch of chickens that need to be processed here in Paulding County. Where could you go?
  3. I know a guy who can get the tranny repaired. PM me if you either plan on keeping it or selling it.
  4. Our government should be as close to competing with the Googles of the world as Mercury is to Pluto. For $20 a month, my internet is fine. Throw in $3 a month for Ooma, $7 for Netflix, and Chromecast for nothing, and my family has pretty much all the online we need.
  5. For all of you wanting to get just one more brand new VCR, this is your last chance. Radio Shack will be closing within the next 60 days.
  6. Can anyone here recommend a place that would have one available?
  7. You're only fooled if you believe this video is genuine. I'm willing to bet anyone here $100 that they won't be able to connect a single one of these young people to the university. Any takers?
  8. Prayers headed his way. He's a super nice guy and I hope he heals quickly and completely.
  9. My good God. This is like the definition of insanity. Then again... I'm also part of the nuthouse.... I have a year's worth of Straight Talk, everything unlimited, for around $450/year. My wife has a tracfone. She spends maybe $80 a year. We do have home DSL internet for $23 a month. The wireless router we got eons ago is perfect for letting us use a desktop, laptop, Ipad, and a Galaxy Note II that I got a few months ago for $200 cash. Then, we finally have Ooma with our phone. Cost is about $3.50 a month. Obihai would be free, but I am still uneasy about whether Google Voice
  10. Wow, I guess I'm the opposite of the stereotype while my wife embraces it. We just have two TV's. The one in the living room is a 27". The one upstairs was an $89 one of the same size that we bought in 2002 or so. Neither of them are flat screens, and they both have the obligatory converter box and antenna we got back when the government was giving them away. The downstairs one has a VCR that still works. Come to think of it, I bought this Acer computer monitor for $119.... and that has been our single largest expenditure when it comes to home entertainment.
  11. Powder Springs is pretty much blocked off in the area that borders Paulding County. Also.... zombies...

  13. Your fast reply function is erasing what I'm writing whenever I jump onto another web page. I have no idea why, you may want to try it out yourself. Anyhow, I tracked the exact reality that you mention in another portion of the study and found that not to be the case at all. Older owners tend to keep their vehicles for far longer periods of time, and the one brand that trumps all others for age longevity, is Buick. http://members.wolfram.com/nickl/TIQI-over18-years.png The Buick brand, which skews heavily towards an older population has nearly three times as trade-ins, percentage
  14. There was a nice long Facebook thread about the article a couple of days ago. I think I should at least offer the highlights of my responses here. his is going to be a long post. So read it through before making any response. First off, there are some strong objective differences between what this study can provide to used car buyers, and what Consumer Reports currently offers to the public. Namely... No owner bias: All of the trade ins are inspected by a professional independent appraiser. Not the owners. These appraisers are all given the same training regimen and take classes
  15. Thanks! I'll be happy to offer free autographs so long as they are not attached to a restaurant bill. All the best!
  16. http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/car-dealer-scientific-guide-10-worst-used-vehicles-222709616.html For a brief moment, I was ranked higher than Putin on Yahoo's Trending Now section. Now if only I could sell more cars at this time of year... anyhow, here's the study which is still a work in progress. http://members.wolfram.com/nickl/ All the best!
  17. Whitey and everyone else... here's the unfortunate reality. With a lawsuit in progress, the likelihood of an open discussion like the one I offered above seems remote. At least between the two primary parties. I do wish everyone involved the best, and I hope that a compromise can be reached that will minimize the costs for everyone involved.
  18. What the GDOT report fails to specifically disclose is that Dobbins is now used by two separate branches of the armed forces (Army & Air Force), and is also still used by Lockheed-Martin to build aircraft. From dobbinshousing.com "Dobbins Air Force Base changed its name to Dobbins Joint Air Reserve Base in 2003. Lockheed-Martin has been building planes at the plant on the base under the license from Boeing since 1951. Aircraft still being manufactured includes the F-22 Raptor and the Joint Strike Fighter. Although questions of closure plagued the base during the BRAC initiative of
  19. No worries. Whitey, who has been the most vocal opponent of the airport expansion at Paulding.com, pointed me in the direction of the group that has the strongest base of opposition. Bar none. If we went forward at this point, it would be like having Barack Obama debate Jon Huntsman instead of Mitt Romney. It wouldn't be a fair reflection of the representation of the two sides. I wouldn't expect (or want) Pubby to stand in for the Airport Authority or the Board of Commissioners, and therefore I'm applying the same standard to those who oppose the airport expansion. Don't get me wrong,
  20. I will never disclose specific names due to a long list of personal and legal reasons. Long story short, if I am expected to be objective, I have to keep a confidence when it comes to all private discussions. However, I did contact a member of the other side of the discussion earlier today. The response I provided above came back before the ball got rolling.
  21. Actually, it's not the so-called new advocate who is turning down the opportunity for a debate. I received the following from those who are heading the "Stop Paulding County Airport Expansion" group. "Hi Steven, Thank you for your invitation to join the debate, but after speaking with the other board members, we decided to decline." I appreciate the quick feedback, the lively discussion, and the compliments I have received from many of you. But for now, I believe that I will step aside and let this matter take it's own due course. All the best!
  22. I will have to respectfully disagree with you on the public forum. First off, there are plenty of venues for this. Churches and high school auditoriums (which was recently done in Cobb County over a major redistricting controversy) would easily provide enough seating. Second, the key issue here is education. The stubborn will always stand firm. But there are plenty of folks that are amenable to the better worded argument. I am also a bit concerned that outside forces will use the local news sources as a means of manipulating the truth. A public hearing that offers equal time to both si
  23. You want to educate the public. There is an opportunity for that. You want to engage in a pointless internet flaming match? Apparently we have the apparatus for that as well. Long story short. The two of you may not be able to come to terms online. But most folks do end up with a better dialogue in person than they do through the internet.
  24. I realize that, which is one of the reasons why I am encouraging experts who can advocate for either side to participate in this debate. There are some things that can't be said at this point, and to be frank, that limitation may help get the debate focused on the issues and merits related to the airport expansion. As I said before, this is a good time to move forward and provide an opportunity to discuss these things in a productive way to a broader audience.
