Our car insurance should also go down because they will no longer have med pay. That is more money in our economy and may make it more affordable for low income workers to have and maintain a vehicle.
Med pay is an optional coverage you must 'opt-in' to buy. Not sure why that should cause auto insurance rates to decrease, since it's a separate charge and isn't mandatory anyway.
In fact, the scenario you described already took place, back in the '90s when Tim Ryles did away with 'no-fault' *(personal injury protection) as part of the mandatory coverage required in this state. Liability premiums decreased (I believe) about 15% and medical payments became an optional coverage.

What is so strange to me is why the Chamber of Commerce has to live off the government’s teat in order to survive.
Without the Paulding County Taxpayers bailing them out each year they would have been out of business years ago.
As a Paulding County Tax payer I resent using tax dollars in order to have luncheons, award dinners ( out of the county) breakfast and supporting public private partnership using our tax dollars as collateral to make the payments for the failed projects.
The film Studio and the General Aviation airport come to mind as two endeavors that the Chamber supported whole hearted and today we see both as a complete failures even though millions in tax dollars has been poured into these two projects and now the County has given up on both of these.
So ……………….. Now someone got the bright idea to convert the airport to a commercial passenger airport and it would create thousands of jobs and have a economic impact of millions and millions of dollars with only a couple of flights per week ?........ Really
How many of you citizens want to pay more taxes to fund this endeavor???
The county Commission Chairman David Austin is proposing to collect $6,000,000 more in tax dollars this year than he did last year, and has the gall to sit at the podium and say that his budget does not represent a tax increase.
In addition the Paulding County school district has already announced a 12.5% property tax increase and scheduled public hearings for the purpose of discussing this with the citizens.
Of course the Chamber will support both of these tax increases and at the same time support spending millions more on a failed management of the airport. This is the same folks that supported the $125,000,000 school bond a few years back that your kids will have to pay off and we still owe about 25 years on this issue that the Chamber supported.
Facts….. A majority of the members on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of commerce do not even live in Paulding County therefore they could care less how much their actions increase the taxes on the property owners of the county. Heck the Airport Director does not even live in Paulding County.
For years and years the tax payers have bailed out the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce.. It is past time for the chamber to pass a budget live within the budget or fail as a entity.
Something is really wrong in Paulding County when a organization and some of its members can make promises to the citizens of this County, go back on those promises and use tax dollars to promote those broken promises.

If improperly quoted it should either be deleted and reposted or corrected to reflect the actual author of the post.

Ok per the lady at the store, it was not a robbery. Was a situation involving a parent and two kids who were possibly sleeping in a car there overnight or something along those lines.
Since it isn't something involving public safety in the immediate area, that's all I care to know.

Not heard anything about Hiram incidents but this morning there were several police cars, an ambulance and fire rescue up at the convenience store on W Memorial that was robbed (where the lady was shot) awhile back. They installed some serious bulletproof enclosure right afterward, so hopefully if someone were so brazen to do it again that would have prevented her suffering injuries as a result.
Haven't heard anything about it so far today.

Lying to a federal officer is a crime, same as with any other law enforcement.
That said, I am sure it's politically motivated, probably thanks to the blatant hypocrisy demonstrated by yet another self-righteous 'do as I say, not as I do' politician. He was a proponent of and helped push through the Patriot Act, and now he is learning the fallacy of "if you've done nothing wrong you have no need to worry..."
You'd think the shameless pervs would stop criminalizing everything and get out of people's bedrooms rather than waiting to be publically outed as deviants and hypocrites by some former victim/partner etc or caught by the laws they helped pass, as in this case. Not sure it can be fixed, but no doubt our government is broken in every way possible, from abuse of the system to the people who populate it.
Disturbing as hell.

That is probably part of the underlying cause of a higher than normal number of accidents - more people out and about doing all the stuff they need to do with too many different things on their mind.
And cell phones. Unfortunately that problem is with us year-round.

In fact, voters have 'spoken for' every holder of elected office - no matter how ineffective or corrupt they may have demonstrated themselves to be. Getting elected doesn't make an effective leader, nor does it imbue character, ethics or competence.
Usually just means you've got the biggest bank account...since a large enough number of people are okay with that, looks like we're stuck with it for the foreseeable future.
