How long does it usually take to get the final minutes from a working board meeting posted? I looked today and it shows the proposed agenda form July 8th. It also doesn't show the proposed agenda for the meeting next Tuesday. Since Jerry was not re-elected has he decided not to have any more meetings this year? How much of the last meeting question by Todd and Jerry's answers be in the writtem minutes? Will the film of the last meeting be put on channel 16 without editing? Just asking.

If Al Gore says we have global warming it must be so since he invented the internet. Right? And the film he was preaching about showing the glaciers melting proved to be from a movie and was actually styrofoam. And the picture showing water in the artic because of melting ended up being that the earth's crust was thinner there causeing the melting (by scientist not environmentalist). As to more trees look at pictures and at documents during the war of northern aggression. Most of Paulding was fields of cotton, corn, wheat etc. as well as Cobb. Look at the pictures taken from Kennesaw Mtn. In the 1950's scientist said we are heading for another ice age. Global warming is a cycle or else caused by all the politicians yah yahing about warming and trying to get a Pulitzer prize. Oh, I forgot. Big Al has already done that.

How old should you be before you stop riding? I had one years ago and am thinking of getting one to ride and enjoy but staying off interstates and not at night. Think i'll take the written test, buy a used bike and ride through the fall. If I still like it I will go to Earl Smalls and take the course. Would have riding experience so it would be easier.I have several friends who have done this. They are in their early 60's.

Salt, pepper and lots of butter. Only a yankee would put sugar on grits. I like shrimp and I like grits but not together. My wife fixes country ham gravy and that is really tasty on grits. Of course you omit the salt because of the country ham. i have heard people fix grits, scramble eggs and then mix them together on a plate. Only instant grits are country ham grits which are hard to find. What is the single of grits?

As to respect Paulding gets in the local media, only after severe storms pass do we hear about it. Seldom do we hear about it before hand. Even after the media (tv and ajc) were told about the news conference the Friday before election about filing ethics charges against Shearin were not heard. Did anyone see it in print or see it on tv?

The rust could have came form the tank that they brought you the water in....
If not there are several ways this could happen
If the Fire dept flushes the lines it takes the sedements in the pipes and "cherns" them up..
If the lines are not fluched long enough the particals are then sent on down the lines.
Flushing usely tahes at least 30- 45 min. per hydrent depending on the location.
The water came directly from the hydrant via hose w/meter. I guess since the rusty water went in my pool it flushed the lines for my neighbors - subdivision off Old Catersville Rd. Another Mayberry award without realizing it.

Why are not the water lines flushed periodically anymore? The fire department used to flush the fire hydrants. I just filled my pool (new liner due to ants) and the company hooked up the meter and flushed some of the rust in the water line. They thought they had flushed it enough but as they filled the pool it was obvious it had not been flushed of the rust for a while. Now my pool looks like the Chattahoochee river less floating particles. Can't see bottom of pool. I added shock to try and get the color out but only time will tell. Pump is running.
This is the same line that furnishes water you use to wash, cook and drink. What is going on? Any ideas?

Yep. I think she has slept with 2 different guys in less then a 24hour period, or something like thatIf you had biology and understand genetics this is what happened. Two men within 24 hours. The "white" baby has blue eyes. If it were what they were saying - same father, split genes - the baby would have brown eyes. Sorry.

These are "Provisional" Votes and from what I was told there are less than 30 of these...which bodes the question...HOW LOOOOOOOONG DOES IT TAKE TO COUNT THEM THEN?...LOL!
They have 48 hours to go to the election office to prove eligibility. If they don't show up or can't prove their vote doesn't count. It's the law or election rules.

Austin wants you to think that he will say "no" to the development in my example. I'm challenging Bigfoot to give me a valid reason to say no - one that will stand up to a lawsuit filed by the requestor.
I am not trying to get a debate going. I was just making a statement about past and future. Heck, for that matter all it would take is a photo of traffic between 5 and 7 on any intersection of 92 and common sense would prevail. Oh, I' sorry. You said if it was handled by a state agency. Bottom line is I was just saying learn by previous mistakes. NO DEBATE!

Does anyone have the name of a good, reliable pest control service. Dry weather last year and ants ate into my pool liner going after water and it had to be replaced. Don't need that happening again.

Jerry you lost on your own accord. You have served the county and yourself. You have done a lot of good things for Paulding County and some bad. Go out with dignity. Please don't be arrogant. Be humble. Help David with the transition and let him be part of the team between now and January. I personally think you owe both David and Boyd an apology and can salvage their past friendship with you. Thanks for your service and good luck on any future endeavors.
David you won based on your insight for fixing problems with the courthouse, the reservoir, over development along with under sold subdivisions, traffic, schools and more importantly the taxes. It is a tremendous task. The people of Paulding will help you and have their support. We need the leadership for the future. We need some light industry and commercial business that don't cause more traffic congestion. With this the burden of taxes will shift from the homeowners to businesses. Don't hesitate to call on all of us to help.
As much as I don't like the AJC there was an article by Jim Wooten (only conservative on AJC) last Tuesday (election day) on page A9 that makes sense:
"Development must hinge on road capacity
Until georgia embraces a transportation plan that actually fixes traffic congestion - that is, one that gets us moving rather than one that offers so-called 'alternatives' - city and county officials should follow this rule: Do not zone or approve density greater than the carrying capacity of existing or funded roads"
Too bad our BOC (not just Jerry) didn't have this advise when they approved all the subdivisions. I am sure Glenn Richardson can help lobby the state DOT for earlier funding on some of the long range plans for hwy 92 and other congested areas. This also applies to building more classrooms. Now is when our own BOE should step up to this task. Kim has that insight for schools also. That is why she got elected.

There's also the power of the PCOM communication engine. What could have provided more damning evidence than the Commission Meeting Video? Coupled with the web site that listed Mr. Shearin's donor list, the evidence of cronyism was compelling. And it was PCOM that got the word out. And Paulding County is a better place, today, thanks to those who provided the website, the video, and the perspective. PCOM is an awesome force!

I know a lady who had her plastic shower stall cut out and had ceramic walls and floor installed. Found out he did not put in a pan but just wonder board on the floor with thin set and grout. There are gaps around drain. The person who did this was a 'friend' of the family.
Do yoy know anyone who can fix this by putting in a pan and put back the tile correctly? She needs to do ASAP because company is coming.

Worked at polls so missed David. Got up at 4 AM and it was a long day. But it was worth it because it's a new, brighter day for all of us.
David is a gentleman first and will lead us through these turbulent times.
Kim will bring sound judgement for our children's future.
Gary has the best law enforcement judgement for our growing county.
Clark has always shown his concerns and interest for Paulding.

Remember when the Democraps got elected they would turn things around. Well how much were you paying for gas the day they got elected. It has gone up three times as much. They were going to bring the troops home. Not. They were going to fix the economy and reduce unemployment. Not. They offer more entitlements and ways to expand the government with give aways and raising your taxes. Don't blame Bush entirely. Congress makes the laws. No drilling because it would take 10 years to help. That is what they said 10 years ago. Approve drilling in Alaska and off shore and watch oil prices & gas go down. The economic leaders (not politicians) say it will happen. Same song and dance by the Democraps. No action. Just talk. Always blame the Repubs. And some of you want a Demo (sleeper muslim, left wing, tree hugging, socialist, ultra liberal, tax,tax,tax) for president?

I think it's more a state of mind, than an actual age, IMO.
I totally agree...........state of mind. I took early retiement at 59 went back to work (called by same company - more $) at 61 and retired from company at 66. Started another business. I can still run and kick a soccer ball with my granson (not as fast). You can't stop growing older but don't have to grow old mentally. My wife can't wait until I get out of puberty. Eat well, stay busy and get involved in life.
AND BE SURE TO VOTE TUESDAY!

If either of you understand body language, which I doubt, go back and look at the video. When king Shearin was asked questions about taxes he moves his body forward leans forward in a defensive mode. This is typical for someone who may have something to hide or doesn't want to answer questions. His voice has a slight higher pitch which is also defensive. There is more to his demeaner than what he says. The worst thing I and others saw was in the way in which Jerry responded by attacking the messenger. He should have leaned back in his seat and let the questions fly and answered in a calm, cool and collected manner. Instead he attacked the messenger. He even accussed his opponent of being a mole. And yes he did also attack his opponent in a public meeting when he said one of his opponents people must have given you the email.........or similar words. Did you catch that? I doubt that also. Maybe you two can help Jerry fold his tent and move on. I once voted and supported Jerry but over time I saw that he had developed an attitude that is no becoming of an official of Paulding County.

I got some great blackberries there last weekend. My wife made me a cobbler. They only cost $4. In the stores the amount I got would have been twice as much. Great place to get gooooooood tomatoes.
