  1. We thought we had problems with politics in Paulding. The recent decisions by the Democrat rules committee shows they are as dysfuntional as ever. Can you believe those inept committee members gave Obama votes in Michigan when he wasn't even on the ballot? On top of that they used the amount based on exit poles. What a joke.

  2. Do you remember how Sherin bragged about the airport the citizens of Paulding voted against? And about the new courthouse that was never voted on at all. And at the state of Paulding meeting how he acted like (and was part of) he thoght of the civic center. Politics at work at our expense. Remeber this in the July primary.

The airpaort will generate tax dollars. When you have industry your property tax dollars should go down. Note that Sherin announced a property tax DECREASE this year (elections!) after raising them several years ago. POLITICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. There is going to be a day care. Also a Grands that will serve hot food (so said an employee). Beer and wine can be sold because if you measure from the front door of the church to the store it will meet the requirements. Look at Grands in New Hope. They used to not sell beer because of the church across the street but the rules changed and now they sale beer. There really needs to be a convenience/gas station on the corner of Old Catersville and 61.

  4. Back in 1999 or 2000 I participated in a project called Christmas in July where local contractors gave there time to remodel/fix up some deserving persons home. Is there still a project like this in Pauldining? Materials were donated by Home Depot and several other businesses in Paulding.

  5. Why not an overnite out of the Atlanta area? We went to Chattanooga for our anniversary on the dinner river cruise. It wasn't that expensive and the buffet was good with plenty to eat. Alcohol drinks were extra. There are a lot of places to stay downtown near the river. They have special free parking for the river cruise.

  6. Is Debra Anderson required to run for her position? That's one fine individual. She is firm but fair. Gives people benifit of the doubt but slams them when they need it.

What about our new superior court judge Ken Vinson? He is not one of the good old boys. He is an honest, hard working judge looking out for the people of Paulding County.

If you ever met these people one on one you would agree with me.

    They have my support!

  7. 'Itsfor kids' got it right. It was sleet. We had a lot of it on Old Catersville Rd at Lawrence creek. Freezing atmosphere causes sleet. Maybe we should call it something else since some people think it was hail. Like call it slail (sleet/hail). Hey, this is Paulding Cpunty and anythiong can happen. Where were the BOC? Maybe they caused this.

  8. Go down to the Wynn building and get a business license as a landscaper. It will cost a $100 but you can pressure wash all you want since you are a "licensed professional".

There's always a way to be beat the 'controllers'.

  9. Only if you are someone they want to speak with. When you cross the line and get in the way of the ROBBER BARON MEGA DEVELOPERS your emails and calls get ignored. I speak from experience.

Does not matter if your rights have been trampled, you are expected to drop your drawers and bend over to accomodate the RBMD. If you don't do so, you will be run over.

The reply I got suggested I hire an attorney, which I did. The rest is history now. And how many hundreds of thousands in tax dollars have gone to Holland & Knight to continue BS litigation just for the sake if litigating to try and break us before we can get to a courtroom ?

And how many thousands of dollars paid to Holland & Knight has come back to Jerry Shearins re-election campaign ? $6900 as of December 31, 2007 not inluding past stuff.

I would love to see D-Dawg's reply to this one.

  10. Whitey,

Is it true Shearin was fined by the State Ethics Board for receiving illegal campaign contributions and ordered to repay the donation?

Was he really late paying County Taxes?

And remember that D-Dawg is in real estate and has an agenda for Paulding development so don't get bothered when he supports the BOC. And yes, he is a spin master.

And here is another issue to think about (includes our state reps). Remember several years ago when the Democrats changed to the Republican party because it was the thing to do and the Republicans were becoming the conservative party (Reaganomics). What ever happened to the "Southern Democrtas"? They were conservative but the party was taken over by the left wing, tree hugging, whinning, agree with me or else party. Look at what just happened in the State legislature. Show boating and egos and "I'm looking out for the people" has made a joke of Georgia. Now there's were we need to look.

  11. If you want to know which candidate for commission chairman then plan to attend the Republican monthly meeting this Saturday morning at 9 AM in the credit union building at the coner of Dallas Hwy next to Martin's. Both Shearin and Bruce will speak and that's a chance to ask questions (not smart elect but sensible questions). Enter on the right side of the building.

  12. The cat's out of the bag on D-Dawg. At his 3:01 PM response near the bottom he said he was in real estate. He DOES have an agenda to support the current BOC. His pocket book.

I am very pleased to see the response from my first issue I submitted "Time to Clean House". It means we have a lot of fine people in the county who really care about our goverment and how things are run. PLEASE keep up the responses even if you don't agree.

There is one thing I ask all of you to do. That is to make sure you VOTE in the next election and talk to as many people as you can to get them to vote. Paulding's record for turn out in some precincts is poor. Encourage relatives, friends and neighbors to vote. It's a previledge and it is the only way we can be heard.

No disrespect to D-dawg. You have made some great points as well as others.

See all of you at the next BOC meeting.

  13. If you want to see something spooky go to Pickets Mill. They have a photo of a reenactor with a ghostly figure standing behind by a tree. There have been other instances where you see a soldier out of the corner of your eye and when you turn to look it disappears. Several people have been wanting to put lawn chairs out where the corn field was located and look for ghost on the anniversary of the battle that took place in May 1864. This would be a late night adventure. Talk to the rangers and they will tell you some good stories about ghost at the Mill.

  14. D-Dawg says we have it all wrong. I bet he or she is either a relative or is employeed by one of the commissioners. The only other reason is he/she has had their head in the sand for the last 5 or so years. Learn to deal with the truth. D-Dawg is starting to sound like Hillary.........lies they only belive.
