  1. I saw only one or two last year on one side of the yard next to a wooded lot. Now they are up next to the house behind bushes and on the other side of the yard next to my pool (above ground one end and semi in ground on the other end). Can they cause a lot of damage? My cocker chases them but will never catch one because they are fast.

  2. The voters need to know that soon to be ex-chairman Jerry didn't do all those things by himself. Ragsdale was one of the" yes sir, anything you want" Jerry boys. He voted for the things that got Jerry removed so the whole gang should walk or be pushed /voted out. Joey Seabolt may be a Democrat but he is a Southern Democrat who believes in the voters first. He is in my district and I support him.

There is another BOC member that has to go becuase of his arrogance. When is Wayne Kirby up for re-election? But that is later.

SUPPORT A CONSERVATIVE FOR BOC. VOTE FOR JOEY SEABOLT.

  3. I like Killians Irish Red. it's a heavier/stouter beer like a beer should be. Now is the time when the Octoberfest beers come out which have a good flavor. Drinking lite beer is like drinking water with a little flavor. But then again drinking Guiness is like drinking fuel oil.

  4. I am a proud alumnus of Clemson and will always support the tigers win or loose but.............it's time for a change. When Bowden annnounced he was changing quaterbacks I thought it's not the quarteback stupid. Bowden should have fired the offensive coach long ago and possibly changed the defensive coach. But of course the responsibility for the poor showing belongs to Bowden. When Clemson was third and short yardage they would either run up the middle for no gain or throw a pass inside the needed yardage and not make a first down. Just dumb calls by the offensive coach. They've had several injuries to key players. They may be big but without proper training they will get hurt. There is no excuse for a reveiver like Spelling to get a hamstring injury. Head coach's responsibility.

    GO TIGERS FOREVER

  5. You have my sympathy. Thank God all my children (4 girls and 2 boys) are grown and have families of their own. There is so much out there to afraid for your children especially if they are a girl. Not to mention peer pressure. Just say your prayers and try your best to be a parent before you are a friend. Recommend building trust with teenagers. We had a policy that if they were somewhere they know they should not be and doing something not proper (like drinking), they could call us and we would come get them and not give a lecture that night. We would have a talk about it the next day. Had only one that we had a problem with but he turned it around. Had to use tough love but it worked. Trust, faith and lots of love is the key. I told the boys don't ever do anything your mother would not approve of and at least they never told me about it.

And we are enjoying spoiling the grandkids and in time there will be pay back. Ha Ha

  6. I go for the "Issues"/Editorials because I like to see how far to the left Cynthia Tucker can go which is waaaaaaaaaaaaay to the left. She had an article on Oct. 5th about how registration and voter fraud was an imagiantion of the GOP and "rarely" did the Democrats do it. It was her third article about the new ID verification law in Georgia. I sent in a letter to the editor pointing out the fraud that ACORN was doing. It wasn't printed of course. Now that there are 15 states where ACORN has commited fraud in registration she probably will just shut up. I think I'll send another letter to the editor but you can guess what won't happen.

  7. We moved from Marietta to Paulding in '97 to get away from the traffic. Third to buy in subdivision off Old Caterville. Used to have to watch for deer and turkeys crossing road. They had right-of-way. Now over 6 subdivisions on OC and see no deer or turkeys, just more traffic. We still call East Paulding by name of Dragstrip. Politicians thought Dragstrip wasn't sophisticated enough. Wish I'd moved here years ago. Good people here.

  8. Senator Chambliss lost my vote the evening that the house rejected this bailout. He was being interviewed on one of the major networks and stated that we need this bailout because he was being told by the CEO's of some of the major banks that it was desperately needed. No reference to his constituents wants.

. I don't think much of the guy running against him either, so I guess that will be a no vote.

I got the same form letter. I sent him suggestion that didn't involve taxpayers $ according to Dave Ramsey. I sent an email thanking him for his response even though I disagreed. He sent me the same form letter.

  9. The C-5 looks like it is going down because it is so big it looks like it is almost standing still. They are retrofitting the engines which means the engines won't have the whine you are used to hearing. It still whines but not as much. If you hear the familiar whine that plane has not been retro'ed. Worked on C-5A & B since day one building metal bond and composite assemblies. Remember standing on top of fuseladge on ship 3.

  10. Below is my response on the “End of the world supply kit” thread:

    4. If Obama wins he will find a way to repeal the 1st and 2nd amendments.

    Excerpts from Drudge report

Plans by U.S. Senator Barack Obama to use Missouri law enforcement to threaten and intimidate his critics. St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.

Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on news reports that “What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment. Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society.”

Sadi612 said I should get the Debbie downer award for my comments. Now do you believe me it hasn’t started? Still doubt it? Go to

  11. You might be kidding but we are on the brink of chaos. If the economy totally fails even with the bailout as some economics experts predict, all hell will break out. Food supplies will be curtailed as farmers go bankrupt. Everyday businesses you use daily will close like Kroger, Publix, Kohles, Burger King and possibly Wal-Mart. No gas, no food. People will be desparate and then comes anarchy. As I said you may be kidding but you also are right. As the boy scout motto says..........be prepared but also be armed to protect your property and family.

Other signs of coming chaos and worry:

    1. If Obama loses we will have far worse riots than ever. (as reported by a Philidelphia journalist)

    2. If Obama wins we will have celebrations just like riots..............an excuse to plunder.

    3. If Obama wins your income will be less due to more taxes therefore less you have to support your family.

    4. If Obama wins he will find a way to repeal the 1st and 2nd amendments.

    5. If Obama wins we will have full blown socialism......worse than Hilliary.

    VOTE McCAIN/PALIN NOV. 4th!

  12. If Surepip and Whitey support you there must be something good there that we all need to look at when it comes to voting Nov. 4th.

Current voters need to remember that the majority Republican politicians in Georgia were once Democrats...........SOUTHERN Democrats. Because of Carter and Max Cleland's left wing socialism people went for Reagan because of his conservative position which is what a Southern Democrat believes. When is your next rally and where will it be held? Are there any plans for you and Ragsdale to have a town hall meeting or debate?

When does post IV commissioner Wayne Kirby come up for re-election? Someone needs to run against him. When a citizen at the BOC meeting was questioning the email about possible taxes he was disrespectful making a snide remark. I was there and I hope Surepip and Whitey remember it also. Shearin did not raise your taxes by himself. The BOC voted for it.

  13. The dawgs were down because Munson retired.

It's good to see that although the Dawgs lost the fans keep on supporting them. Same with true Clemson fans. GO TIGERS!.

I went to a U. of South Carolina game and they were loosing at the half. The fans were booing their team and throwing things at them going into the locker room.

  14. It's obvious Congress doesn't care about us. They are calling the Wall Street failure fix a "rescue". It's still a "bailout" because taxpayers funds are being used. Put lipstick on the bill but it's still a pig. Once the bill is signed by Bush, he should fire Secretary Paulson. It was too obvious he was trying to protect Wall Street and wanted to add a section in the bill that said no one could challenge where he put the funds. Let the Assistant Treasury Secretary fill in until the end of his term. Whether Paulson is fired now or leaves at the end of his term it is obvious he will be a Wall Street CEO again.

Obtaining funds to support the “financial rescue” could come from other sources. It may seem extreme but what about stopping all foreign aid temporarily. I know a lot of countries rely on us to support their country. Another source is start calling in all loans from foreign countries. Did Russia and Great Britain ever repay us for the World War II debts? Finally, stop paying monies to the UN for five years. We all know a lot of UN funds go to third world countries that hate us. Let Russia, China and Venezuela carry the burden for a while.

  15.

Where's all the howling about how great Georgia's football is was going to be and deserve the #1 position? You don't see any cars with flags flying today. It was appropriate for the team and fans to where black because they got their a---- beat so bad. How is their volley ball team doing?

Don't feel too bad. My Clemson tigers embarrassed me again. So bad I had to take down my Tiger flag and go hide it. I have sent an email to Bowden giving him 24 hours to resign or its tar and feathers.

But I will be out there cheering the Tigers on next week as usual. Never give up!

  16. Someone told me that Mayor Austin filed the suit. I hope not unless he is trying to get the city of Dallas to make some progressive changes. If so, why would want to stop progress? I thought someone in the city of Dallas had complained about the tables...............probably some old geezer who hates progress. There must be an ordinance against it.

    There are easy solutions:

    1. Ask Mayor Austin what he thinks and would he support an ordinance change. Have Pubby video interview him and post on PC.

    2. If there is an ordinance, have the restaurant submit a request for hearing before the Dallas city council to:

    a. change the ordinance to allow outside tables/chairs/umbrellas and/or other commercial items on city property, specifically sidewalks, that do not obstruct public access.

    b. that each request be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Not all requests would be granted because you don't want a bench/chair on the sidewalk doing tattoos (health concerns).

or c. request a variance to the existing ordinance

    3. based on the meeting with the city council you will find out who does and doesn't support progress and common sense and start a campaign to VOTE them out if office.

The city council needs to remember that next year there will be a lot of students in downtown and they love places like this to spend their money. Surely other business will open to cater to students.

Wasn't there an antique shop who had a table and chairs on the sidewalk last year?

Question...........would there have been a problem if the tables and chairs were a Starbucks instead of a Mexican restaurant? Probably not.
