  1. Best seafood is Shem Creek Bar and Grille. Go over the big bridge (Hwy 17 N) and go to the right at bottom of bridge and not 17N by-pass. Cross Shem Creek and take left at first light. The resturant is on the left. There is another resturant nxt door but go to Shem Creek Bar and Grille. Also on Meeting St. is Hyman's Resturant. Also good food. If you can find a Gilligans (Mt. Pleasant) they are good. We lived there for 28 years before being transferred here in '91. We go to the Southeast Wildlife Expo around valentines every year. Ducks Unlimited has oyster roast that Friday night with open bar and cost $40. They are having crime problems so get a map and stay on main roads. Take no side or back roads in the city. If you like ships go to Patriots Point where Yorktown aircraft carrier, subs and other ships are located.

  2. I am leaving suntrust also! I am waiting for eveything to clear my account!

When Community changed to Suntrust they sent us a letter saying we had to be in a checking account that had service charges. We went in to change to a no fee checking senior account and they wanted to charge for checks. We closed and moved to Georgia Heritage and got what we had at Community. Some of the former Community people at Suntrust aren't too happy with how they operate and treat customers.

  3. 3 Cups Bisquick

1 lb. sausage (hot or mild)

    1 lb. grated cheese

Let cheese and sausage come to room temperature (easier to mix). Mix all ingredients together with hands and roll into bite size balls. Bake at 400 degrees 12-15 minutes.

My husband usually blogs on PC. I use the same receipe and use Jimmy Dean sausage. My husband often brings home frozen sausage balls from Publix for me to fix. He says he doesn't have to wait as long for them when he wants some and they taste pretty good.

  4. I watched Nichols' expression as the judge was reading the sentences and he looked like he was totally bored. He probably was thinking about how he could escape. He won't be a model prisoner since he has nothing to loose. The guards where is to be incarcerated need to tell prisoners he was a child molester. He wouldn't last six months.

I hope he gets tried for killing a federal agent and gets the kool-aide special.

  5. The 'new' building you see is the mega church which has an entrance on Hwy 92. The senior centerhousing will not have any retail stores in an agreement with Walmart when they bought and put up their store. The County is using the property now because they found a rock quarry and, since it is now owned by the County, it says tax dollars for gravel. When the rock/gravel is gone the senior center/housing will be built.

  6. The County/DOT has been cutting back underbrush along the roadways for years including the grass. Back then they used a lot of labor or sub'd the job out that cost a lot of tax dollars. Now they use a machine that not only cuts grass but whacks down underbrush. Yes, it sure looks bad but they are actually saving the tax payers money. I don't think the County would mind if you got out there and trimmed the brush/trees to make them look neat.

  7. We had a woman come to our door, told us she was in the area to inform people of their product and handed me a can of air freshner as a gift (said it was a gift) along with a printed hand out. She mentioned a cleaning brand I had never heard of and I said we didn't need any. She said let me get it for you and show you whereas she immediately went ot her car/van and brought back a box with the name 'Kirby' on it. I said thanks anyway but we aren't interested and said have a nice day and closed the door.

This is the kicker. She asked if I thought our neighbor would be interested in a free gift and demo and I said go ask them. She stood there a minute and I asked what else did she want. SHE WANTED THE FREE GIFT BACK and printed hand out. Can you believe it. I gave her the gift and thoroughly admonished her and told her how unethical it was and would report her and slammed the door. I didn't give her the printed hand out. I called the number and told them and they said, oh sorry it won't happen again. I said well then get the woman to bring me back the gift. Want to bet she will? Ha. This happened in a subdivision off Old Cartersville Hwy. My wife was busy is why I answered the door. She said she wouldn't have given the gift back.

  8. How about some soothing Santa Clause medicine?

I heat a cup of apple juice, about a dozen red hots, and some cloves. When the juice begins to boil the red hots will disolve. Add a generous shot of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum and you have some pretty good night night medicine.

I always liked the warm saltwater method but this sounds better. Maybe just gargle with a shot of Captain Morgan's, swallow, do again and swallow. After the fourth one you will forget about the problem.

    Hope you fell better.

  9. There are a number of things the average American can do. Get together an evacuation plan. A serious one. With meeting places, directions on how to get there, contact information, and the like. Put it in the glovebox of every car you drive. Put it in your briefcase. Put it in your purse.

My family has a serious evacuation plan, and has for seven years now. It has multiple rendezvous points in a number of states. We have an emergency pack with a change of clothes for the family and the bare necessities in our trunks. Our important information is secure in places where we have access anywhere in the world we may be.

I know it seems like overkill, but we will be one of the very few who is truly prepared. And all it takes is just a little planning.

But, as for what America is doing as a country, that's the question everyone should have been asking the leader who will be in charge for the next 4 to 8 years... what exactly is he planning to do as a country to keep us safer? He's going to be the one on the watch if anything happens. What's his plan?

Instead, everyone was asking about money. Short-sightedness.

    No need to panic.

I believe Obama has seen the real threats and will work to keep us from being attacked (see, I can say something nice about him). Every family should be prepared for an emergency. We have tornadoes and you should have a family plan and supplies in case of being hit. That doesn't mean dig a hole to hide but what would you and your family do if hit tonight? What about week days when kids are in school and parents are at work? If a big disaster happened there may be no phone lines and more than likely no cell phones. Remember China impressed the US by shooting down a satellite which would knock out cell phones, cable TV and military communications. Good place to look at what you need to do is at http://www.fema.gov/library/. Lots to help you decide including building a shelter.

    Now you can panic.

  10. The EPA is thinking about charging farmers for their animals for greenhouse gases emitted by belching and flatulence. If you have more than 25 dairy cows ($175 ea), 50 beef cattle ($87.50 ea) or 200 hogs ($20 ea) you could be charged for air pollution. Our government is going absolutely mad. Who's going to pay for all of the wild or open range animals? When there were thousand of buffalo roaming no one complained about their flatulence.

Careful guys. We may start getting bills after we have beer and pickled eggs.

  11. Go to court and fight the ticket.

Take the hospital statement to show time of admission and that your wife had the baby. Make a statement that when you told the officer your wife was in labor he acted like he didn't believe you. Then show him the baby. If the judge has any heart he will dismiss the charges. If the judge still fines you s _ _ _ _ him and the courts. But don't tell the judge that.

  12. I reverse mine in the family room when we have a fire going - seems to circulate the heat from the fire better.

We do the same and it helps. We have a fan/light over the kitchen bar and run it on reverse (low speed) all the time. It doesn't cool the food but helps keep the air moving especially when my wife is cooking a lot.

  13. Some homes have what is called a 'gas pack' heat pump. The heat works on electric coils and when it's real cold the gas heat comes on. A light on the thermostat comes on which indicates the gas burners are working. To save on electricity move the indicator to emergency heat and you have only gas heat. My neighbors outside unit had ice and he complained about a high electric bill. He now uses only gas heat.

I had other problems with my system and found Ragsdale H & A to be reasonable and do excellent work.
