  1. Hey Ash, seems like you are gettin close to him, I had the same idea bout the urine, same as "doe in heat" should work for the dog as well. Maybe if you use some horse whisperer techniques on the dog, could gain more trust and make the capture easier. I also wondered if you could obtain some of this "urine" from a vet that has performed a procedure on a pregnant or in heat dog? Dont know if it would be legal to obtain or not, but you would think someone must have encountered this type of problem before and had a need for this. Again, just a suggestion and I wish you the best of luck in catching this baby. Let me know if I can be of any assistance at all! I did try this technique with one of my adult rescue Dobermans, that had serious behavioral issues (the horse whisperer) and it really worked. Just sit nearby where you put his food out and ignore the dog while he eats and do this a couple of times and you will gain more trust before you actually try to capture him. You are certainly more than admirable for you relentless attempts to save an abandoned fur baby! Good luck! (I also wish you well on your upcoming medical procedure!)

  2. I'm sure you all have run over every poss. strategy, this was the first time that I read this post and I commend all of you. I was thinking... maybe he would be up for some female company by now the weathers clearing he's been eating well. Just maybe a cute little Shepard in heat would tempt him. A crate with a divider so he could get used to going inside a caged area. He could check out her and the divider would prevent contact of the two. I know no one would want to leave their dog out over night but maybe a few visits would be enticing. I don't have a female in heat. but I have a large crate w/ divider one of my dogs sleeps in it every night he's ninety eight lbs. and takes up the entire crate, if you think it would be worth trying we can. I would be glad to help. I hope my idea doesn't sound to far out there, I just know that I would go to any length also.

Edited because I'm such a slow type I didn't see his pics til after my reply. He is a big boy too and very handsome. My offer still stands, I'll check back tomorrow.

  4. I really hope you get your baby back, and soon! Just keep up hope, you never know, just the other day this jack russell comes running down the road past my house, my shih tzu chasing it, I got mine in the house and started running down the road yelling at cars to stop and chased the dog(not really chased, followed) him into the neighbors pasture until he couldnt go any further and finally caught the dog, he was so scared but looked so relieved to be caught, anyway, he had a tag with number but no one answered so I did a reverse 411 lookup and it turned out to be a guy my husband works with's dog that lives behind my parents that Ive known for years and didnt even know it was his dog. They live three miles from me and the dog had been missing for three days. So glad that was a happy ending and I hope yours is too. I will be on the lookout for him!

Thank you for sharing your story.

I still have faith for the Bones family that Rex will make his way home.

Or if someone has Rex, well... I just have faith that he is being taken care of where ever he is.

As stated before, It's just not knowing that hurts.

  5. Hope for Rex's return is still heavy on my mind, and I have your # programed in my cell just in case.

I have been in your position before and if it were to happen again to any of my pets now I would not

have peace until they were found either. Thankfully we have the resource to reach out to our community with P.Com and through the kindness and consideration of others we have more timely help than ever before. That means so much to so many.

Also regarding the two yr. old male German Shepard lost off Hiram Sudie, does anyone know if he was found? Last time I looked at the thread many days had passed with no follow up post.

  6. We are insured through Geico, while making a police change I was reminded we can lower our rate by taking a Defencive Driving course, I'm interested in checking into this. I received comparison quotes from three other insurance co. and they were much higher than what we are currently paying. I'll be contacting you regarding the D.D. course.

  7. can you post any pics? non shedder no older than 5yr and around 10 lbs, must love to travel and a life of leasure on the lake. Her dog has his own camping lounge chair, and so could a new furbie, we would come by b-4 she leaves, it would have a great loving life. her dog is a mild mannered 3yr old altered male.

edited: Oh yeah thank you for reminding me, I was just so anxious to show her some of the babies that I have seen posted here, one I fell in love w/ and wanted to show her a Papi(?) mix in July. I know it was adopted and very glad it has a home. **Great job yall.**

  8. You all know it's common practice of small business owners of P.Co. to check out what kind of vehicle the customer is driving before giving a quote, and in the Vet. biz if your pet is a purebred or a founder,J/K. And all you that know Dr.Judy well, knows he would be lol ,.

Good choice, we love the whole crew there we have used their caring and professional services for over 20 yrs. Luv 'em

  9. In regards to the the statements of Dennis and Shad. I heard that some family members of theirs (I cannot remember who's went) actually went on Montel to talk with Sylvia Brown. If anyone has any more information on this or a clip, please share I am interested.

To this topic, I am not very active here at Paulding.com, could someone fill me in on the purpose of this hunt? I say purpose because I read the post and see that some of you knew her. I am VERY interested in the background of people and places in regards to a good 'ghost hunt'.

    Thanks :)

I don't know any of these people either, and never been on a hunt, I would like to, though.

I've had an interest in learning about communicating w/ spirits that are lost or have crossed over .

I think that the greatest purpose of this spirit search was to help this soul cross over.

  10. I keep waiting for my beating.

Too bad we cant get down to the Silver Comet Trail at Windale during night hours.

Where there's a will there's always a way, and there are many a strong will here.

I was on the SCT off Windale for the first time a couple of weeks ago w/ my dogs, looking for Rex the missing Pit, I didn't have anything on my mind but the dogs. I came to an area of the trail and stopped, my attention was drawn toward the dirt trail that ran along side and into the woods. I had such a strong feeling that I was near the area...

  11. Mapquest it and take it back to them.

We know that its just down the street and pulled the house up on Global Satellite Image. They have a nice yard w/o abandoned yard sale signs taking them back just doesn't work. We thought this would be so much more fun, and maybe a more effective approach.

  12. Lets start a new club, it may be a good way to help prevent future abandonment of more signs.

Easy enough to recruit members since some print their address on the sign itself, obviously they want publicity. Membership will include matching bright orange vests, and weekend meet and greets where individuals can chat as they stroll through each others neighborhoods collecting an assortment of unwanted signs and other goods tossed aside. I have several addresses for potential members in my trash can outside, I'll go get 'em. ;)
