  1. What was the reason? I just don't understand why people do these horrible things. So sad. Prayers for the family.
  2. While I see your point, this woman did an absolutely amazing job in keeping this man calm, getting him to surrender, and most importantly, preventing him from harming anyone. For that alone she should be commended.
  3. Cute story! Now all you need to do is put some air freshener in that bottle and it will actually serve a reasonable purpose.
  4. The article is confusing. First it says the boy fired the gun, then it says it accidentally discharged in his backpack. Horrible "journalism". And what the heck was a 5 year old doing with a gun in his backpack anyway? I'd say the parents need some discipline on this one as well. I'm glad no one was harmed.
  5. That is awesome news! I am so happy for him!
  6. Oops! Guess I missed the part in your post that said American. Sorry Stradial. Also, I know it's modern history rather than early. But when I was trying to think of someone who I thought was very influential, especially for other women, I could not stop thinking about Princess Diana. Another influential woman that comes to mind is Susan B. Anthony.
  7. Princess Diana. She was a stone setter in the British monarch. She was a strong presence on the world stage, she was compassionate and she was very influential for many. She truly was the People's Princess. I just adore her and think she was very strong for what she went through.
  8. Wow! That looks like an early 70's model. And that deck is huge! My FIL has a late 70's model Snapper Comet and still runs just fine. The engine was rebuilt in the 90's but he says it's still basically like new (the engine) because it was used very minimally after that. He's actually giving it to us for my husband to use since its just basically just sitting at his house now that he has a Deere. That's one awesome piece of equipment Subby! I would really like to see the after pics of the restoration.
  9. Could be that. I was thinking maybe a mini cooper.
  10. Isn't that where she's pouring the oil? The front? And I didn't think it was a VW bug.
  11. I saw this earlier on my friend's Facebook. I think it's awesome. Great timing with the music too!
  12. I saw it this evening. It was beautiful! I didn't know it was full tonight, I thought it was tomorrow night. Anywho, it looked amazing tonight!
  13. Glad someone found out what it was. You're a rare breed Stradial, to be gift shopping for your wife so early instead of at the last minute. Well done! I was just thinking, the best way to give this to her is to present it with some flowers in it. It would not only be a sweet gesture, but would also answer the same question you and everyone else had.
  14. Does it open up? Is it old/antique? What is that blue thing on top? About how big is it? Do you have any other pictures or views of it?
  15. How do you know you got a good deal on it if you don't know what it is? You could have paid X amount of dollars for a piece of crap.
  16. God I hope not, at least for his sake. Nope. Same thing.
  17. So sad. Prayers for his family.
  18. My guess is that it's still left over from before this whole Paula Deen debacle. I had read somewhere that Walmart would not be placing any new orders for her products. But I don't think that would mean they would pull all of her products that they currently had on the shelf or in stock from every store worldwide. They would lose A LOT of money if they did that. But unless they in fact have taken her back, I bet they are kicking themselves right now, since the lawsuit has been dropped. When someone makes rash decisions based solely on reports from the media, they make themselves look l
  19. I need a t-shirt that says that.
