  1. and suck it in, wash behind your ears, dress your age, shave, wash the car, rake the leaves, fix the flat, bow down to your betters and don't forget to turn your cheek between each personal attack ... Some don't realize that there a few folks who'd just as soon those who are so busy ought to consider passing by without throwing an insult. You really don't have to, you know. pubby PS: This Fox News bit is being widely played.

  3. Actually, while I didn't think that Bill Clinton's acts didn't deserve impeachment, I would not have been terribly disappointed had he resigned. Key to that determination is that the institution is much greater than any of the human occupants and if they screw up, they should take responsibility. I will note that a Clinton resignation in 1999 would have been a great example for Trump to follow. But he didn't and he was succeeded by GWB. A few days ago I opined that the GOP will eventually be begging that Trump be impeached. Part of that is based on my reading of what will come from th
  4. Ted Kennedy is dead. I'd have condemned any deal and I didn't support Teddy in 1980 and I don't recall him running in 1984 at all. For all I know Kennedy's contact with the Russians was done with the knowledge of and as part of a CIA intelligence effort. One might assume that it not being mentioned in the Russian documents; it was a success. But more to the point, this is just another effort at deflection involving the Whataboutism strategy. Seriously, whatever Kennedy, Clinton, Abraham Lincoln or George Washington did is irrelevant. You are being asked nicely to read the Mueller
  5. The dossier wasn't fake; it was gossip amongst those in the spy business and the points offered within it were offered with varying degrees of confidence but no full confidence on any point. Because of its 'nature' as a report on gossip, it was not taken by the FISA court as anything other than collaberating data supporting susequent FISA warrant applications. The notion they were instrumental or causative in the issuance of the warrants is at best spin, at worst disinformation. BTW: What process did Trump use to vette the data coming from Wikileaks? Did the process used to get the email
  6. So ...are you aware of a radical change in the social/political contract that will allow the victors to indict and convict folks like the Clintons and Obama for 'trumped-up' charges of obstruction sometime in the finite future. If yes (you are aware), then please do elaborate. pubby
  7. It is illegal to tamper with evidence to obtain any warrant, FISA or not. That is not what happened here. The problem is that it is not expressly illegal to lie and say to the press what ever it is that you might think will let you skate on this or that charge if you say it loud enough, often enough and have the bully pulpit from which to yell it. The act becomes tacitly illegal if the intent of the lies is to create a confidence fraud and it the fraud is perpetrated by a politician it is a class A high crime. In the case of Trump and his 2016 campaign, it also ought to be a hi
  8. Sounds like you are aware of a radical change in the social/political contract that will allow the victors to indict and convict folks like the Clintons and Obama for 'trumped-up' charges of obstruction sometime in the finite future. Do deny or confirm? pubby
  9. What you're spouting here are linguistic gymnastics because the exercise of executing a FISA warrant against a person is, by definition, a legal form of surveillance. Spying is what Russia did in its quest to install Donald Trump in office by BURGLARIZING THE COMPUTERS at the DNC to obtain stolen documents (email) to distribute and influence an election. That the Republicans - and Mitch was very much in on this - chose to back Trump's acceptance of the aid by refusing to call out Russia in early September 2016 means that the Republicans executed a coup with the aid of a foreign power
  10. There are over 400 pages with thousands of pages of supporting evidence in the Mueller Report. Here is one: You do know that ordering people to lie to investigators; to try and coerce them to forge official documents and put those documents in the record are federal crimes related to obstruction of justice. And this is memorialized records with a specific chain of evidence that will stand up in any court in the land. It is not what Trump calls "fake news" although he wishes. But like most things, I'm sure he thinks it is fake news and in Trump's world, attorney's never tak
  11. As stated above, congress is the branch that is first among equals and like them or hate them; they are the 800lb gorilla that occupies the Capitol. The Congress gets its status because it was the national institution that won the Revolutionary war and founded the nation. So, if they want to investigate; they will and there is nothing that DJT, the SCOTUS or the DOJ have legal standing to stop them. I used to quote that British Conservative PM Winston Churchill often noting that democratic forms of government are the worst imaginable, except for all the others. It is not going to
  12. You know what worries me most? That Trump will escape this mess by the narrowest margins and loses the election (because the Democrats let him off the hook for impeachment). Anyway, he resigns before whomever replaces him takes office the next January after making a deal with the VP Mike Pence to pardon him and his family. And it is not that Trump presumably 'gets away with it' that is the most bothersome. Rather it is what his shenanigans have done to the previously well established roles of the president including acknowledged limits on his power and prudence. Anyone who has a
  13. I'll simply say that I was once employed by the United States Senate and my institutional loyalty is to the Constitution which establishes the Congress with Article 1. I can say that the writing and history of AG Barr shows he thinks primacy is lodged in Article II. If you read the constitution, you can see that the Congress - the Article 1 institution - is the first among equals. It can trump both the executive and judiciary through processes contained in the Constitution. It is the PRIMACY of the Congress that makes us a representative democracy. Without Congress or even a weak
  14. Respect for other people ... give me a break. Beyond that, the pins and needles that members of the administration are experiencing in the lead up to the release of the incomplete Mueller report is based on Trump's HATRED of those who aren't personally loyal to him. What he is capable of doing in retribution for those who might be identified in the document to be released has these folks scared. Seems workers in this administration are of the opinion that Trump is above the law as the law, you know, makes it a felony to do anything to witnesses. The really funny thing is that AG BA
  15. The Sun is a tabloid rag published by Rupert Murdoch in the UK. Sorry, but isn't this article in conflict with Fox News (also part of Rupert's propaganda machine) assertion that ISIS has been eradicated by our stupendous leader. Oh, and as a Murdoch rag, it has been known to blatantly lie to put forward Murdoch's political agenda. To wit: Of course I can't help wondering what you're doing looking at the Sun in the first place. Was it the Dear Deidre section? Pretty hot if you ask me pubby PS: Dogs ... I see your interest is definitely going back in history to an e
  16. GD: First, we're all elated that the damage is repairable/rebuildable. If post #3 was so far off topic, why did you comment on it in the first place. That was my point. All the rest is just whiny hatefulness directed at your neighbors. My comments, distilled, simply say that you're showing you're as incapable of self-control in your utterances as is our badly flawed president. pubby PS: I suppose we all should be happy that Trump didn't just come out and blame Muslim's for the fire.
  17. You are the one who is babbling GD. My reading is that if you just choose NOT TO CALL PEOPLE OUT for the most insignificant absurdities, the conversations that you insist on pointing out as nasty, would be otherwise ignored, given little substance or otherwise be handled appropriately. In other words if you were capable of being nice, you wouldn't come across like a whiny little B. In this topic, I recognize Trump's suggestion as a 'thought' ... that was probably widespread. Most people just reject these kinds of ideas because they're not involved in the decisionmaking and the sug

  19. I don't think the truck driver is deserving of your suggested award at all. First, Thank GOD he wasn't driving by an elementary school. That was a full-sized semi-tractor with the nitrites in a tank trailer meaning it was probably two, three, maybe ten times the explosive as the OKC bomb at the court house. I honestly don't think the training for a truck driver, even with this load, is that if you have a brake fire, stop the truck and run as fast as you can as far as you can. But considering the blast size, the guy would have to be at least a quarter-mile away survive. I also note

SG: I'm not worried about new business discussions provided members are making the posts; not the businesses self-promoting. I do frown on members extracting payment for posting about a new business as well ... although that was very rare. Fact is, it has always been fair for members to talk about new businesses, restaurants, etc.; the issue being that to repeatedly post advertising by the new business without a business membership cheats those who do and have paid for the privilege. You also mentioned the general assembly. Did you know our state senator is the majority leader?
